The Ash Pryor Cap City Half Marathon Return: Cheering On 12,000 Runners
The Ash Pryor Cap City Half Marathon Weekend: Returning as Race Ambassador to Cheer On 12,000 Runners
The Ash Pryor Cap City Half Marathon weekend carries more weight than a typical race appearance. The Peloton Row instructor is returning to the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon on Saturday, April 25, 2026, this time as a race ambassador, stationed on course and ready to be what she called her “#1 hype girl” for the thousands of runners and walkers pushing through downtown Columbus.

The race is personal. In her own words on Instagram: last year’s finish represented “a goal that took me 10 years to have the courage to complete.” Cap City 2025 was where Pryor ran her first half marathon, 13.1 miles at what she proudly tagged a #sexypace. The Clip Out recognized that milestone in the 2025 Peloton Instructor Superlatives as a defining moment in her athletic story.
This year, plans shifted. Pryor had been training to race again, but circumstances changed, likely due to her planned knee surgery and recovery. She is coming home to Columbus anyway!
Ash Pryor Cap City Half Marathon Appearance: Where to Find Her
Pryor will be set up at a specific cheer station at State and High, near the Ohio Theatre. If you are running the half marathon and want to know where to look for a boost in the final stretch, that is your landmark.
Race Director David Babner noted the significance of her return in a statement from M3S Sports: “Knowing that this race played a role in her own running journey makes it even more special to have her out on course supporting our participants. Her energy will be a huge boost as runners head toward the finish.”
She is also inviting the public to come out and cheer alongside her. This is not a roped-off ambassador appearance… she wants company!
Virtual Goodie Bag and Race Weekend Activities
Participants can access a virtual goodie bag tied to Pryor’s appearance that includes a chance to win a Peloton Tread and a QR code for a 60-day Peloton membership. That is a meaningful add-on for runners who want to extend their training well beyond race day. Stay tuned to her IG for more info that she shares.
Beyond the course, Pryor is participating in the National Black Girls RUN! meet-up connected to Cap City weekend and will serve as a special guest at the pre-race party. Her cousins and best friend are also racing on Saturday, making this a full family affair in addition to an ambassador role.
About the OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon
The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon is one of the Midwest’s most established spring running events. The 23rd annual edition draws more than 12,000 runners and walkers to downtown Columbus each spring for the half marathon, a quarter marathon, and the Columbus Promise 5K. USA TODAY has recognized it as one of the top half marathons in the country for three consecutive years, voting it No. 2 in both 2024 and 2025.
The Ash Pryor Cap City Half Marathon connection is the kind that does not fade after one finish line. She earned it last year. On Saturday, she is heading back to help 12,000 other people earn theirs.
