Surprise Changes in Peloton’s Leadership

Maybe we could start with an update on Helper Bee Tina and her son, Mason.

That is a fabulous idea. It is good to let people know. It’s been a rough few weeks for Mason. There have been several trips back and forth via helicopter to different hospitals. There have been several medications. There have been hospital stays. It hasn’t been easy. Not that I think cancer or leukemia is ever easy. I don’t mean to imply that it should be, but it is one of those things that Tina and Mason got through the first couple of months, and it felt like we had a little bit of a rhythm. We know a little bit what to expect, and now it’s going to be treatment for the next two years, and that’s the focus. That is not the case.

Anything that you guys can do to share, the GoFundMe link would be super appreciated because, as I said, there have been multiple trips in helicopters, and it’s not cheap. This whole thing is going to be a very long, drawn-out battle and journey. All of our love to Mason and Tina. Tina has been a rock for Mason. Mason is a rock. What a tough thing to go through at that age.

It’s such a curveball, thinking of graduating from high school and heading off to college, and then “Not so fast.”

That’s quite a curveball indeed and it sucks.

That aside, what pray tell do you have in store for people?

There are a lot of updates happening. We’re going to talk about the newest person to step down from Peloton. We’re going to talk about what other changes that is leading to. We’re also going to talk about the new changes you can make to your workout plan. We have tons of Instructors in the News. There’s going to be a little bit about Hannah Corbin, Becs Gentry, Ally Love, and Ash Pryor, new modalities for several instructors. We have the Artist Series updates coming. We have a new celebrity update to talk about. There is content galore.

Over on Patreon, if people are interested, we’re going to be talking about a new major acquisition by Strava, which will impact a lot of people for the better.

Peloton Leadership Changes: Peloton’s Chief marketing officer is moving on.

I’m super excited. This is very exciting.

Disneyland is stopping running, Disney races. If those are important to you, we’re talking about that. Also, how women are reshaping the gym while reshaping themselves. Of course, we have all sorts of other Peloton stuff to talk about, but those are broader topics that we will discuss over there in depth. If you want to support the show, we’d love for you to do that. We’re doing shameless plugs. I didn’t say it, but here we are, suddenly, I’m shamelessly plugging.

It’s Patreon.com/TheClipOut. It’s $5 a month. What do you get for your $5, you may ask? You get ad-free episodes and tons of bonus content. Every week, we record an extra 20 to 30 minutes of content, talking about different topics. You, of course, get our undying love and gratitude. If we get the episode early, you get it early. There’s all that. Let’s dig in. Shall we?

We shall.

Peloton’s CMO Is Moving On

Peloton’s Chief Marketing Officer is moving on. She has only been there for a little over a year.

Sixteen months to be exact.

It wasn’t that long ago that we were like, “They’re getting a new marketing person,” and now we’re like, “She’s leaving.” What do we think that means? Does that mean she was like, “I’m getting out of here?” She got a job that’s too good to be true.

It’s always hard to say. I do have a conjecture, and we talked about that on the bonus episode. I think it was on the bonus episode last week, about how the communications liaison that we’ve had for quite a while now is no longer there. They didn’t say goodbye or anything. We just saw on LinkedIn. It was listed as because of layoffs. I feel like when they say that there are some structural changes, to me, it’s a code for layoffs. I feel like they’re trying to be quieter because this affects corporate. It probably doesn’t just affect corporate.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: You can now add recovery days to your Peloton workout plan.

It’s probably across the board here and there. These changes, specifically, are very large. I think this is not necessarily the worst thing ever. They have been telling us that they were going to focus on cost-cutting. They’re trying to make sure that all of their metrics are in order, and that is the top priority for the company. I do find it super interesting that there was this new marketing position that was open. It was not an inexpensive position.

It was like 350 to 425.

It was something in that range. It was also asking for quite a bit of experience. What I don’t know is how long that had been up versus when these leadership changes occurred. We don’t know that, but it all feels very connected. It also feels connected to our communications person that we were tasked with, and then the person that we had had before, we never heard why, but I feel pretty strongly, especially now, that they also were on the chopping block. That happened a couple of years ago, or at least a year ago.

This is not the first CMO that Peloton has had. There have been a few. I remember not that long ago that I got to sit down and talk to the CMO. It wasn’t this one. It was the one before that. It wasn’t that long ago. We were talking about all the new movement and color that Peloton is bringing. She was so excited about it, but she was gone soon after that, and then they brought in Lauren Weinberg, and now she has stepped down. The other thing that’s interesting here is that the Vice President of Global Communications, Letena Lindsay, is also exiting the company. She’s been with Peloton for seven years. I have no idea how long she’s been in that specific role, only that she’s been with Peloton for seven years. It all feels a little interesting and a little scary. We just brought in the new CEO, Peter Stern,

He might have his own people that he wants to bring in. It’s all the time in radio when you get a new program director. Suddenly, you got a whole new lineup of DJs.

I will also say, as a very long-time member, that what always concerns me is what happens to the member experience. I know that Peter Stern said in the last earnings call that he was very focused on improving the metrics around customer service. I hope that continues. As I have said, ever since John Foley left, that was the heart of Peloton. It keeps changing to be more and more corporate. I know that it’s inevitable. As I have also said before, I would much rather Peloton be around than not, but it’s also hard to see. I’ve loved this company for a long time. I have personally worked my ass off for this company even though I’m not an employee. I have put blood, sweat, and tears into a lot for them. It’s hard to watch. It’s a part of evolution.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Did You Stretch Tho: 52 Stretches to Increase Flexibility, Balance, and Performance

I know John Foley took a lot of heat for making some very non-traditional decisions, but it’s also hard not to think that those, in a lot of ways, were also driving the success of the company because you’ve brought in all these people thus far to make the “right decisions” that the MBA say they should be making, and none of them seem to be fixing things. Now, they’re also in a very different world than we were in when this company started ten years ago. We’ve probably gone through two because the world had pre-COVID, you had COVID, and then you have whatever we’ve got going on right now. It’s not necessarily a fair apples-to-apples comparison. It’s apples to oranges to cantaloupes.

It absolutely is. I think it’s fair to say that, as different as Barry was from John Foley and it was night and day, he did make a lot of changes that we have seen impacts from. There have been cost-cutting measures. There have been changes in the legal situation. Those things needed to be cleaned up, but it’s still hard. It’s still a difficult transition to go through. It’s unfortunate because the world keeps contracting more and more when it comes to a fitness aspect, not to mention all the tariffs and all the situations going on. They don’t seem, at this point, to be affecting Peloton, the tariffs, but it doesn’t mean that it’s not impacting the rest of the fitness industry. If it impacts the rest of the fitness industry, how will that impact Peloton? It all goes together. I don’t think anybody can tell you what all this means.

If they say they can, they’re lying or they’re delusional. Those are your only two options.

There you have it.

Add Recovery Days To Your Peloton Workout Plan

Switching to your actual usage of your Peloton, you can now add recovery days to your workout plan.

You might remember a couple of months ago, I can’t remember how long it’s been, but they added these personalized plans. You could say, “I want to focus on being faster,” or “I want to work on being fitter or lose weight,” they don’t call it losing weight, they call it something else, it will ask you a bunch of questions in the app like, ”What kind of workouts do you want to do? How many days a week do you want to workout?” It will give you a list every day of recommended workouts? What’s new this week is that you can set your recovery days.

You can be like, “I always want Monday to be a recovery day, and I want it to be yoga or I want it to be Pilates or whatever.” You can choose multiple. That way, when you do have a recovery day, you already have something being served up to you, so you don’t have to go look for what kind of recovery you should do. I do think that is smart. The more you can take the thinking out of it, the better, because when it’s a decision, people are going to walk away.

I like not thinking.

I know. When it comes to working out, you have to remove the barriers. You have to make a decision, and it’s 6,000 classes. That’s a big decision. The more they can narrow that down, the better.

I talked about this with Tonal. One of the things I like is that it does things. I’m like, “This is what I’m doing now,” but that’s why I always pick programs. They have lots of single classes. I don’t even know where to find them, nor do I want to.

I know you don’t, and that’s okay.

I don’t typically pick a two-week program. I picked a four-week program. That way, I don’t even have to think. I walked downstairs, I hit next, and I’m doing my thing.

You just do what they tell you to do.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: Becs Gentry was on Good Morning America.

Now I’m doing a twelve-week program. I don’t even know what to do when that’s over.

I have to say, I dig the twelve weeks. I don’t so much dig the work because it’s freaking hard, but I do dig the twelve weeks at a time because it is a progression. You can see the progression. I love that it’s been so well-designed, but I also love that I don’t have to think about it for twelve whole weeks. I just stepped up to the machine and hit go. That’s nice.

I’m sure this will be very helpful for people.

I think it’s going to be a big win.

Coming up after this, we are going to talk about Instructors in the News. We have updates on Hannah Corbin and her new book. Becs Gentry is popping up on your TV, and Ally Love is doing a special 5K run/walk that you’re going to want to know about. Stick around.

‐‐‐

Hannah Corbin’s New Book Available For Pre-Order

Hannah Corbin’s new book, titled Did You Stretch Tho is now available for pre-order.

She’s been working on this for a long time. We’ve reported on it a couple of times. You can now get pre-orders. There’s a 35% off if you buy them through Barnes & Noble.

I guess it also comes with cards.

The more you can remove the need for thinking, the better—because when it becomes a decision, people walk away. Share on X

It’s 52 stretches. From what I can tell, it’s not so much a book as it is a guidebook. The whole thing is 52 different stretches. You can tear out the cards for each stretch, so you can take them anywhere. It’s going to be easy to take with you. It is portable. You’re going to be able to take your stretches wherever you want to take them.

If you want this on your Kindle, maybe not so much.

This is not going to be a good Kindle book. This is going to be a good in-person book. You’ll want to get the hard copy. You can have it. It would not do you any good otherwise. You could read it.

Becs Gentry On Good Morning America

Becs Gentry was on Good Morning America.

She was pretty excited about it. She was on there, and she was talking about training tips ahead of the GMA 5K that they have. It’s on May 14th, so she was talking about the final weeks of training, what that looks like, and giving tips about those final weeks of training. That’s pretty awesome. I love seeing her on Good Morning America. Some of the instructors have been on these shows so many times. They still love it, but they’re not as excited about it. Becs is not one of those people. She has not done this a million times, and it shows. It’s so sweet to see her enthusiasm.

It’s still a novelty.

Very much. It’s very cool.

It’s like how I’m no longer excited to go backstage at a concert.

You are jaded AF.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: Ally Love is hosting a special 5K Run/Walk for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum coming up in April.

I’m like, “Can I tell you a secret? It’s boring back there. It’s so warm.” People think it’s hookers and coke, but no. It’s just people on their phones.

One time, a friend of ours got us backstage to a Muse concert. I thought we were going to see the bands, but no. It was all business back there. It was like an office day job. It’s super not exciting. You are not missing anything. I still enjoyed it very much, but not what I was picturing.

Ally Love Hosts A 5K Run/Walk For The 9/11 Memorial & Museum

Ally Love is hosting a special 5K run-walk for the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

It’s on Sunday, April 27th at 8:00 AM at Brookfield Place, New York City. I have probably a dumb question. Why are they doing this Memorial Run in April when 9/11 happened in September?

I had the same thought. My guess is that if it’s a fundraiser of sorts, this has to have been in the works for a while, because my other thought was that museums are losing Federal funding left and right. I don’t think they’d turn that around in like three weeks.

I don’t either. I don’t think that’s where this coming from, but I think it’s a fair question. I also wanted to mention that there is a cost to register for this one. If you use the discount code Ally 2025, you can also get 25% off your registration.

Ash Pryor Is Running Her First Marathon

Ash Pryor is running her first half marathon.

I think this is cool. I guess that she made a promise to herself ten years ago to do a half-marathon. Life happened. She didn’t do it. She calls it a broken promise. She said, “Marking ten years of a broken promise. I said I would complete this race to conclude my master’s program, but I was too scared. I was too scared that I wasn’t fast enough. What if I don’t finish? What if people make fun of me? What if I am last? I’m still scared, but this time it won’t stop me.” I get chills reading that because I have asked myself every single one of those questions.

She’s probably like, “I should have done it before everybody knew who I was.”

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: Ash Pryor is running her first half marathon.

All the eyes are on you now.

I was scared people would make fun of me, now looking back, it’s like, “Let me get half a million Instagram followers first.”

I will say this. Putting yourself out there, because even on my tiny platform compared to these instructors, it makes you accountable. You have to do it because you don’t want to tell them you didn’t. That’s worse. It’s worse than telling yourself that you didn’t do it. At the end of the day it sucks to break a promise to yourself. You hold yourself whenever everyone else is looking. It’s a different way to look at it. I think it’s cool that she is going to do this. It’s on April 26th that she will be in Columbus, Ohio. Good luck to her. She’s going to do great.

Is she from Ohio?

It’s where she got her MBA.

I was like, “Why did she pick Ohio?”

I am so bad at remembering where instructors are from.

That would make sense if she went to school there, and that was the one she was focused on. She’s like, “I’m going to do that one.” That’s probably part of the promise to herself. It wasn’t like, “If I’m going to do one, I’m going to do that one.”

She said, “I will complete this race to conclude my master’s program.” That was very specific.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: Robin Arzón has partnered with Nobull.

That’s marathon-related. It has nothing to do with this. I’m reading the book The Long Walk by Stephen King. The premise of the book is that it’s like a competition. It’s a Stephen King book, so it’s going to be weird. It’s a competition where they take two kids from each state, and they set them in the country. They walk, and the last one standing wins. By standing, I mean alive. Having watched you train for your marathon, they’re talking about how much these kids are struggling in mile 7. Clearly, Stephen King did no verifiable research before he wrote that book.

Do they have time to prepare, or is it like, “Your number is up, go?”

It has to be kids. If you’re over eighteen, you can’t do it. I read this book when I was in the 8th grade, and so I’m rereading it for the first time since then. Everyone volunteers to do it. You’re not selected at random. You volunteer to do it. You would presumably get yourself in some sort of shape before you do it.

You would think. The other thing you told me was that if they fall below a certain speed, they shoot you.

They can’t fall below 4 miles an hour.

That’s a 15-minute mile. They can’t stop to sleep or eat or anything.

They have to pee while they’re walking.

That’s impossible. I’m not saying nobody could do it because I know that there are people who could, but to have kids do that, you can run like that, but to walk like that without stopping for 100 days in a row or whatever that would be to get from one country to the other, you would physically give out because you don’t have any sleep. Just from here to New York is like 900 miles. If they’re starting on one into the country, that’s 2,000 miles.

I don’t think they expect anybody to make it to the end. They know that 99 of them are going to die. That’s why I was like, “Mile 7?”

At the end of the day, it sucks to break a promise to yourself. Share on X

I think there’d be some prep if they volunteered for that.

They’ve never raced past mile 7 without at least one person checking out.

That is pretty fast to be walking. Can they run?

You could, but it’d be dumb.

That is a nice clip. It’s not like a speed walk, but it’s a nice clip. It’s like when we need to be somewhere in a hurry, and I’m like, “Let’s go.” It’s that, but if you fall below that to pee, which you would as a woman.

It’s all boys.

That’s easier.

It is. Anyway.

That was quite a tangent. That’s more of a bonus tangent.

Peloton Leadership Changes: Peloton News: New modalities for Denis, Kirsten, and Emma.

Robin Arzón Partners With Nobull

Sorry. It got turned into a movie. I think it’s coming up in September. It’ll be out there soon. Robin Arzon has partnered with NOBULL.

This is a big deal. She signed with them. This is interesting for a couple of reasons. One, it’s a great win for Robin. It’s huge national sports like Footwear. The thing about NOBULL is that they are often seen as a weightlifting shoe. When you see things like her doing high rocks, this makes sense for me, because that would make NOBULL the type of shoe that you would want to wear while you’re doing that competition. If you were doing a tonal workout, you’d want to do that. If you were doing CrossFit, you’d want to do that.

What makes shoes different for weightlifting?

There is a big difference. When you are working out, you want to use your feet to stabilize. You can’t spread your toes in a squishy shoe. Even if you can spread your toes, you can’t feel what the ground is like. You can’t stabilize yourself in the same way you can with the very flat sole. There’s also Barefoot shoes and things like that.

This one looks like gorilla feet.

Those, and also the shoes that I use to run in, which don’t look like gorilla feet. They’re flat. There’s no tilt to it. A lot of tennis shoes have a tilt to them. Most tennis shoes have them. They call them no-drop shoes. They’re also good for that because the closer you are to the ground and how bigger the insole is, those are all things that are going to help you be able to feel the ground better and be able to stabilize. You need to stabilize your entire body. If you’re trying to lift as much weight as you can, you need to use everything, including your toes and feet. You’re going to be able to lift more if you can grow. That is the theory. Plenty of people do great with all kinds of shoes.

Since we have a Tonal and we use it at home, I go barefoot.

You’re doing the same thing. When you’re not wearing any shoes at all, all the things I said still apply.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m accidentally doing what people advised because I would never go to a gym and not wear shoes. That would be gross. I’m not a hillbilly, but at home, you’re allowed to be gross because it’s your home.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: The latest Artist Series features Pitbull.

It’s your gym, so it’s not nearly as gross as thousands of people you don’t know tracking in and out of there.

It’s just me and you.

The other thing I found interesting about this is that I recently saw that Tonal is teaming up with NOBULL. They gave away pairs of shoes during a live class because Tonal does those live classes a couple of times a day. During one of their classes, they gave away a pair of shoes. I think NOBULL is going through a thing right now. They’re trying to get all their marketing out there. It’s smart of them to be focused on Peloton and Tonal. That’s great.

Peloton News: New modalities For Denis, Kirsten, And Emma

We have new modalities for three different instructors.

This was such a weird way that this went down. Peloton posted this cryptic message, which they used the same thing that we had done three days before that with the AI art. It was very comical.

That AI action figure package had been going around.

They put this out, and they had a little AI-looking Emma. It showed with her new modality accessories, and they said, “For anybody who can guess these, we will pin the comment whoever is first.” They put that out there, and then somebody guessed correctly. They pinned the comment, and within an hour, it was all gone. Denis had posted all of it, and the post was gone. Everything was gone.

The marketing person quit. They’re like, “A whole new plan.”

It makes you wonder in all seriousness where they are supposed to put this out there. Did the person get ahead of what they were supposed to do? There’s no good communication because all these people are leaving. You can’t help but wonder. Anyway, Denis is going to be joining the meditation team officially. Denis has done meditation before. It’s only eight, though, on the platform. We’re going to see more of those. Kirsten is going to be joining officially the tread boot camp team. Now, she teaches on the tread, but this will be officially the boot camps. Emma will be officially joining the Pilates team. She has done Pilates classes, but now she will be officially joining the Pilates team. It’s very cool to see that the team is growing.

Artist Series: Pitbull

The latest artist series features Pitbull.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: May Artist Series: Hip hop hooks to nostalgic belts

This is pretty cool. I do love Pitbull. I cannot stand the commercial that they did, though. This video I am so not the demo for this. It is awful, in my opinion, because they have Camila and Ally dressed as Pitbull. They put on the fake sock thing over their head to make them look bald. It is not good. I do not like it, but I’m sure the classes that they will teach will be great. There’s going to be multiple classes for this. There’s going to be a Pit Bull Run. There’s going to be a ride with Cliff in German.

The run with Mariana is going to be in Spanish. There’s going to be a German run with Jeffrey. There’s going to be a full-body strength with rad. There’s going to be a two-for-one with Camila and Ally. Hence, the commercial, and then, there’s going to be a run with Robin, a row with Ash, and then arms and shoulders strength with Marcel M., and that is going to be in German.

May Artist Series: Hip Hop Hooks To Nostalgic Belts

We have a sneak peek at what’s coming up for people in May.

I don’t know who this is, but Teddy Swims. I have no idea. Some of his top hits include Lose Control, Broke, 911, and his viral cover of Tennessee Whiskey. That got big on YouTube, so probably why I have no idea. I am excited about the next one, though. Beastie Boys.

That’s a good one.

May 15th is when that one is going to hit. There’s going to be tons of live classes that we know of, Andy Speers, Denis Morton, Jess King, Alex K. All of that sounds great. Avril Lavigne comes up. I’m looking forward to that one. That’s a lot of fun. She has a lot of hits. That’ll be a May 22nd.

She won’t be in the studio.

Yeah.

When you're working out, you want to use your feet for stability. In a squishy shoe, you can't spread your toes—and even if you can, you can't feel the ground. That makes it harder to stabilize compared to wearing a flat sole. Share on X

It went viral a few years back, the pictures of her meet-and-greets. I guess they made a big deal about not touching her. Everyone is standing there with their hands in front of them, folded. Standing right next to her, leaning in but not touching. I get it, but it’s painfully obvious.

The language is awkward. There are ways to do it where the body language is not awkward. Tom, you’re going to love this one.

The Monkees?

No. Jeff Lynne’s ELO on May 29th.

That’s a good one.

I got my ELO shirt. I’m going to have to go to that one.

That was a good show. He’s not as great. He’s 80.

I know. So good.

He had a backup singer doing a little help.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: Christie Brinkley was quoted in CelebWell.com discussing her exercise regimen where she talked about how much she loves her Peloton workout.

He did. You go out there and dance and sing when you’re 80.

I don’t do it now.

I would be happy to be alive and energetic.

I would be happy to be alive and rich.

I’ll take that too.

I’ll give up half the energy for the other in cash.

That’s good to know. Anyway, lots to look forward to in May. Lots of fun.

We have a new celebrity sighting. I don’t think we’ve ever talked about her before.

I couldn’t remember.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: TCO Top 5 – Tell us your favorite classes!

Christie Brinkley Loves Her Peloton Workout

I feel like I would remember this one, but Christie Brinkley was quoted in CelebWell.com discussing her exercise regimen, and she talked about how much she loves her Peloton workout.

Cycling in general, but she loves her Peloton. She said she does a 20 to 30-minute class several days a week. She does some of the floor exercises, then arms and core on the other days. I know that time passes, and this should be obvious, but I didn’t realize she’s 71.

I didn’t realize she was that old.

The thing is that she looks amazing. She looks amazing for any age, but to look amazing at 71, that’s amazing.

Coming up after this, we’re going to tackle content. We’re going to give you the TCO Top 5 and give you all sorts of classes that should be on your to-do list, potentially.

TCO Top 5

It is time for the TCO Top 5, where you tell us your favorite classes, and then we tell you if you’re right or wrong.

Close enough.

Number one, your favorite ride.

The favorite ride was taught by Jenn Sherman on April 20th. It was a 60-minute My Mix Tape ride. Nancy Nielsen nominated this. She said, “It was an epic sing-along through movie soundtracks of the past few decades. The hour went by so fast, it left me wanting more. Jenn is the queen of setting up a great themed playlist.” Danielle Amado also nominated this ride. She said, “Jenn knocked it out of the park. The music was great, and the hour went by so fast.”

Number two, your favorite boot camp.

This one is fun. It was taught by Adrian Williams and Selena Samuela. It was a 30-minute tag team boot camp on April 16th. That’s part of the row series that Adrian has put out. Melissa Solon nominated this. She said that she loved Adrian doing the row with some max efforts, and then a tough floor section with Selena. There’s a 3-minute warm-up, 2 rowing segments, for a total of 11 minutes, and then 2 strength segments for a total of 12 minutes.

Number three, your favorite training simulation. This image that has been selected, I keep seeing it out of the corner of my eye, and I keep thinking he’s flipping off the camera.

I could see it.

He’s pointing forward with both fingers, but he’s in front of a mirror. You see the back of him pointing forward with both fingers and he’s like, “Suck it.”

For the record, this is Peloton’s choice of what they use for the screen grab. At the beginning of classes, stop everything, before the class starts, and have them pose for these. They chose that out of several options.

This is probably the final straw for why they got rid of their marketing person. “That is enough. It’s time for you to go.”

I also have to point out that this class was taught by Christian Vande Velde, and he is on the list twice. This one was a 45-minute pro cyclist race simulation that he taught on April 19th. Kathrine Kimes nominated this class. She said she bypassed her usual lineup and decided to take this class, and she enjoyed getting out of her comfort zone.

Number four, your favorite ride, with a brand-new format.

Don’t wait to dance and sing when you're 80. Do it now. Share on X

This was taught by Jess King on April 18th. It was a 45-minute Sweat Steady ride. We will be discussing this more in the bonus. I will give you all of my thoughts about this, but it is a brand-new format. Jeanette Royal Giles nominated this ride. She said it was 45 minutes of pushing herself hard. She enjoyed the new format of getting off the bike and walking through the studio and then getting on a bike next to other riders. We all talked about it also over in The Clip Out. I have lots to say, but I think that it is great that Peloton continues to try new things.

Finally, number five is your unstackable.

Christian Vande Velde is back. This class was in 2024. It was on June 2nd, 2024, a 45-minute pro cyclist HIIT training. Jason Stouffer’s description of this ride made it clear that it is a good unstackable. “The zone 1 to zone 5 alternatives with increasing levels of duration were intense. I hated it while I was doing it, and I loved it afterwards.” What a great review.

This Week At Peloton: Functional Fitness

We will now take a look at This Week at Peloton. We will start with your Morning Stack with Aditi.

These are fun because she does a 10-minute Morning Meditation and then there’s a 20-minute Morning Slow Flow. Those popped out on Tuesday, April 22nd. If you are tuning in to this, you can pull this up on demand anytime.

For those of you who like to use Molly, Rollin Hills with Olivia.

This is a brand-new 15-minute Rolling Hills class. It’s going to have lots of energy, but it’s only 15 minutes, so you can fit it into any day. That is going to be on-demand on April 23rd. By the time you hear this, it will all be ready to go.

We also have refreshed Barre classes with Hannah Corbin.

A 45-minute barre with Hannah Corbin. It’s going to be on this Friday at 9:30 AM, Eastern. It’s going to have low-impact movements with high-intensity results.

Peloton Leadership Changes: We take a look at some other classes on our TCO radar which we think should be on yours.

Other Classes On The TCO Radar That Should Be On Yours

We will now take a look at some other classes that we have on our radar. We think it should be on yours. We got a live DJ run with Adrian on Friday, April 25th.

It’s going to be at 5:30 PM, Eastern. Those are always a lot of fun because it’s live DJs. DJ John Michael is there. Those two together are hilarious. Great energy.

You also have one more week of the Outdoor Run Club.

That is going to be taking place on Saturday, April 26th. Enjoy it

Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is just around the corner.

In May, that’s going to be coming up as well as Mental Health Awareness Month. We’re going to see probably classes added to both of those collections in May.

FTP Test Ride

Over at TheClipOut.com, we have an article telling you everything you need to know about the FTP test if you’re thinking about taking one of those.

This is important to do if you’re going to be joining the newest Power Zone challenge. It started this week. Don’t feel like it’s too late. You can still join in anytime.

It’s never too late.

The Clip Out | Peloton Leadership Changes

Peloton Leadership Changes: FTP Test Ride: Our article tells you all you need to know about the FTP test.

It isn’t, but you do want to take your FTP test if at all possible before you start taking these classes, because then that’s what gets you your zone. When you take the class, you’re going to know it’ll have a little customized bar at the bottom of your tablet, and it’ll tell you, “I’m in zone 1. I’m in zone 2. I’m in Zone 3. That’s all custom based on how you did during the FTP test. These are good classes to take. They can be a bit daunting.

I know people can get very intimidated by it. An article like this could be very helpful, giving an idea of what you’re in for if you’re the sort of person who likes to plan.

Also, remember this. You can’t fail. Even if you have the worst class you’ve ever had, that’s okay.

You need to know that so you can start at the level you need to be at to improve.

Exactly.

Peloton Celebrates Earth Day

Peloton is celebrating Earth Day, which has already occurred.

The reason I wanted to still bring this up was that several classes came out specifically for Earth Day. They had a specific ride with Camila. That was labeled for Earth Day. They had a Walk plus Run with Andy, a row with Alex K, a full-body strength with Robin, a yoga flow with Kirra, a run with Becs, and I believe that one was outdoors, and then they also had a Birthday Meditation with Nico. That was in German.

I have been super busy with my new job, and I have not gotten out of the house much. I was pleased that I got to go outside and enjoy a walk on Earth Day. I enjoyed it. It was a beautiful day here. It was a little too warm, but it was nice to be in the sunshine and enjoy the Spring.

The dog was also happy.

Joslyn Thompson Rule’s New Strength+ Program Called Build Up to Push Ups

Finally, Joslyn Thompson Rule has a new Strength+ program for you.

Since it is Strength+, it’s only going to be found on the Strength+ platform, but it is called Build Up to Push-ups. I think this is hilarious because I saw somebody complaining on the OPP about how there’s like a starter how to do a push-up class and he was like, “What’s the good about having this if you don’t have any other classes to build your push up,” and then the next day, Peloton was like, boom.

Do they tag him in it?

I don’t know. I thought it was funny. Somebody needs to go find that guy on the OPP. I do not have the energy to put towards that, but somebody should. I think that’s great. These classes are so foundational. It’s not like the only thing you’re going to get out of is learning how to do a push-up. Doing a push-up is simple, but it’s not easy. I feel like I can never get my form right with a push-up. Going through the steps with this would be amazing.

Finally, we take a look at Peloton birthdays. Coming up on April 28th is Peloton’s founder and original CEO, John Foley.

Happy birthday, John Foley.

Two days after that, on April 30th, it is the birthday of none other than Chelsea Jackson Roberts.

Happy birthday to Chelsea.
