Ride United 2024: Join Christine D’Ercole on a 100 Mile Ride

The road to mental health awareness is both symbolic and literal this coming May, as Christine D’Ercole teams up with the United Way of the Lakeshore and the Muskegon Area District Library for a monumental event—Ride United 2024. This initiative is more than just a bicycle ride; it’s a rallying cry for community strength, support, and the transformative power of rallying together for a cause that touches us all.

A Call to Ride

On May 17th and 18th, Christine invites you to join her in Muskegon, Michigan, for an event that promises to be an unforgettable blend of passion, endurance, and advocacy. The two-day affair kicks off with Christine taking the stage as the keynote speaker at the Muskegon Museum of Art. It’s a unique opportunity to hear from someone who has inspired many to push beyond their imagined limits and explore the impact of mental health on overall well-being. After her speech, a donor dinner will be hosted, where attendees can enjoy dinner with CDE. Interested in tickets?  Click here to register.

The main event, Ride United 2024, takes place on May 18th. Christine isn’t just asking for your support from the sidelines; she’s inviting you to be part of the action and ride along with her. Whether you choose to ride 25, 50, or 100 miles, this event is inclusive, open to cyclists of all skill levels, and designed to unite everyone from novice riders to seasoned professionals in a communal show of solidarity for mental health programming.  Register here.

Training Together

Understanding the commitment and preparation required to partake in such an endeavor, The United Way of the Lakeshore has partnered with Jacqui Cincotta, a renowned CDE Project Member and cycling professional. Together, they’ve developed a comprehensive 4-Week Training Plan tailored to prepare participants for their selected mileage in the ride. This Power Zone-based plan is an invaluable resource, and will help equip you with the training necessary to approach the starting line with confidence.

Beyond the physical preparation, participating riders will gain access to designated training Facebook groups upon registration. These platforms serve as digital hubs for encouragement, sharing experiences, and building connections with fellow cyclists dedicated to the Ride United cause. It’s an opportunity to be part of a community that extends beyond the pavement, fostering relationships that last long after the event concludes.

How to Get Involved

Whether you’re drawn to the physical challenge, motivated by the cause, or a fan of Christine’s inspiring work, Ride United 2024 offers various avenues for involvement. You can join Christine on the scenic roads of Muskegon, participate virtually from anywhere in the world, or support the cause through donations. Every pedal stroke and contribution goes directly towards supporting Mental Health Programming for the United Way of the Lakeshore and the Muskegon Area District Library.
