Peloton Adds Strength Benchmark Classes to Schedule

Peloton Adds Strength Benchmark Classes to the Schedule

Peloton continues to expand its fitness offerings in 2024 with the introduction of two new classes designed to help Members establish a baseline for strength training. The classes, created by Robin Arzon and Andy Speer, will be available in the on-demand library starting January 23, 2024.

The New Classes: Intermediate Full Body & Bodyweight Strength

Those familiar with Robin’s strength classes know that, from time to time, she programs benchmark training into her classes, and Andy frequently references benchmark training as well.  However, this marks the first time that Peloton has scheduled classes specifically dedicated to this type of training.

Robin, a strength, running and cycling trainer with 10 years under her belt at Peloton, and Andy who is a respected trainer both on and off the Peloton platform, will each teach a 20-minute Intermediate Strength Class. Robin’s class is a Full Body Strength Class, while Andy’s class focuses on Bodyweight Strength. The classes will be added to the schedule on January 23, 2024, with Robin’s class dropping at 9:00am ET and Andy’s at 9:30am ET.

Strength Benchmark Classes will drop in the On Demand Library on Tuesday, January 23.

Why Assessments Are Important: TCO’s Advice

Assessments are the backbone of any successful strength training program. Regular assessments can help you track your progress, make necessary adjustments to your routine, and stay motivated as you work towards your fitness goals. By implementing assessments every four to six weeks, you can document your progress and focus on improving any areas where you may be struggling.

Each class will consist of a series of exercises that are designed to test your strength, flexibility, and endurance. After completing the class, you will have a baseline score that you can use to track your progress over time. If you perform poorly on one specific test, you can focus your training program on improving that aspect. By using these benchmarks, you will be able to track your progress over time and see the improvements that you’ve made.

Benefits of the New Classes

The addition of these benchmark classes provides Peloton Members with an excellent opportunity to assess their strength and set achievable goals. As Robin has emphasized in the past, benchmarks are a great way to measure progress and see how much you’ve improved over time. With these new classes, Members will be able to establish a benchmark for their full-body strength or bodyweight strength, and then work to improve upon that benchmark with each assessment.
