Try for an Exclusive Boston Marathon Shoutout: Peloton Is Calling All Qualifiers

Every April, the town of Hopkinton, Massachusetts empties itself into the streets of Boston, and this year, Peloton wants to make sure every one of its runners gets a Boston Marathon shoutout before they cross the starting line. Over 26.2 miles of New England pavement, the world’s oldest annual marathon transforms an ordinary Monday into something close to religious. Patriot’s Day. Marathon Monday. And increasingly, a day that the Peloton community has made its own.

With Peloton’s recent Instagram story call-out asking Boston-bound runners to submit their Leaderboard names by March 11, the brand is once again signaling its deep investment in the race and in the runners who have been training all winter in their living rooms, basements, and gyms, preparing for that iconic left turn onto Boylston Street. Did you miss it? CLICK HERE to submit your name now! Shoutouts are not guaranteed, but hey, it’s worth a shot!

How the Boston Marathon Shoutout Fits Into Peloton’s History With the Race

Peloton’s relationship with the Boston Marathon actually predates the brand’s now-famous partnership with the New York Road Runners. As far back as 2019, Peloton hosted events at its Prudential Center showroom just minutes from the finish line, including a panel discussion on goal-setting, a post-race recovery zone, and a booth at the official expo at the Hynes Convention Center.

That same year, Becs Gentry ran Boston as part of the event Peloton was actively promoting. That dual role of athlete and ambassador would become a hallmark of how Peloton engages with major marathons in the years to come.

Since then, Peloton’s formal partnership with the NYC Marathon has set a clear playbook: instructors run alongside members, cheer zones erupt at key miles, and the brand creates content that lives on long after race day. The question many in the Peloton community are now asking is whether Boston will get that same full-scale treatment in 2026.

The NYC Marathon Blueprint and What Your Boston Marathon Shoutout Could Look Like

Beginning with the 2023 NYRR partnership, Peloton transformed marathon weekend in New York into a multi-day community event with shakeout runs in Central Park, expo panels, a Cheer Zone at Mile 19, and a post-race Recovery Hub at Peloton Studios New York. Instructors ran the race each year alongside members, with rosters growing annually through 2025.

Peloton has no formal partnership with the Boston Athletic Association equivalent to its NYRR deal, but the community groundwork is already laid. Instructors including Becs Gentry, Matt Wilpers, and Jeffrey McEachern have all run Boston previously, and several more have made marathon racing central to their Peloton identity.

Drop Your Name and Claim Your Boston Marathon Shoutout

Peloton’s call to Boston-bound runners to submit their Leaderboard names is part of an ongoing strategy to bridge the gap between indoor training and outdoor racing. The people who clock miles on a Peloton Tread at 5 a.m. and the people who toe the starting line in Hopkinton are, more often than not, the same person.

The deadline to submit your Leaderboard name is March 11. Whether Peloton shows up in Boston with cheer zones, instructor runners, or simply a community of members cheering each other across the finish line, one thing is certain. Heartbreak Hill has a way of drawing people back!
