Peloton Instructors Denis Morton and Andy Speer shared a light-hearted moment on Instagram before they were greeted by a packed house of Peloton fans during their meet and greet Tuesday evening in Jacksonville. 

Several in attendance had traveled several hours to attend Tuesday’s event, which was held at the Peloton Store in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Door Open Early for Shopping

Peloton’s doors opened at 5:30 pm so attendees could do a little shopping (15% discount on everything in the store) before the event began at 6:00. 

A Little Trivia to Kick Things Off

After the instructors were introduced, the night began with a 60-minute instructor chat that started with a few minutes of trivia where we learned that Andy played the trumpet before getting involved in gymnastics and track. In addition to playing football, Denis trained in aerial acrobatics with the hope to perform with Cirque du Soleil.  

Fun Fact!  Both Denis and Andy had previously worked as land surveyors at some point before joining Peloton. 

Andy and Denis Take Some Questions

During a question and answer session, both instructors stressed the importance of mobility exercises in maintaining their fitness. Both Andy and Denis focus on staying healthy enough to teach their respective classes, and the mobility exercises they do help both of them maintain their health and fitness. Andy and Denis also mentioned warm up and recovery as integral parts of their fitness routines.

Both Andy and Denis stressed the importance of psychologically managing injury recovery. Denis shared his own history of recovering from a serious knee injury following a motorcycle accident several years ago.

Both Dedicated to Producing Excellent Classes

Both Andy and Denis estimated that they routinely 3-5 hours preparing for each hour of class they teach. This includes selecting music and the workout routine for each class. 

Favorite Artist Series Classes

Denis and Andy were asked about their favorite Artist series classes. Denis mentioned his 30-minute Eminem ride and his 30-minute Zach Bryan ride, while Andy loved his 30-minute P!nk run and his 60-minute Fleetwood Mac strength class. 

Evening Concludes with Chat and Photos!

Following the question and answer session, the guests were able to line up to chat and snap a photo with the instructors. 

Kudos to Peloton for hosting an outstanding event in Jacksonville! This was the first instructor event at the store and local staff hope to hold similar events in the future.
