An Insider Peek at the Event

Peloton member #MichelleB shared her experience at the Alex Toussaint 5K Run

“On Saturday, February 14th I attended the Peloton x NBA All-Star Game event celebrating Alex Toussaint’s 10 year Pelo-versary.  The Walk Good Yard is a really cool yoga & wellness studio that is a non-profit bringing wellness classes and events to underserved communities located in the Mid-City area.

It began with Alex being interviewed by a skills coach, then NBA legend and former LA Laker Robert Horry, AKA “Big Shot Rob,” joined the conversation on stage. He shared adorable stories about his wife constantly riding with Alex and every time he walks in the room he hears Alex’s sexy voice… thinking, “not again with that guy!!”  Alex was charming and humble and clearly grateful for the past 10 years with Peloton and the community.
For the run, Alex led us in a warm up with jumps, high knees and butt kicks, then we hit the streets in 3 different pace groups for a 3 mile run/jog or walk. Upon return there were drinks and a food truck with burgers then we sang to Alex while another NBA All Star, Dominique Wilkins, showed up to present Alex with his cake. We took a group photo and I put myself right next to AT but I haven’t seen that photo posted anywhere yet! Alex then took photos with everyone in front of the step and repeat. Alex was so warm and friendly towards me and I was thrilled he remembered me. I spent a lot of time with him back in the day when things were different at Peloton’s old studio. In fact, I was on Alex’s very first ride 10 years ago, and was thrilled to celebrate his 10 year Pelo-verary. A great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day in my book!!”

Michelle also adds:
“There were under 100 people there, mostly Peloton folks. I was surprised that as an Angeleno with so many Alex rides, I didn’t get an invitation from Peloton. I was lucky to have heard about it from someone on the SoCal page! It was a well done event and I am incredibly grateful to have something from Peloton here on the “best-west” coast!!”
Thank you, Michelle, for sharing your experience!

A Community Affair

The Alex Toussaint 5K run was a celebration of movement, community, and the intersection of sports and wellness. By bringing together basketball fans, fitness enthusiasts, and Peloton members, Alex and Peloton showcased the power of collective action in creating memorable experiences.
