When Peloton Instructors Leave What’s Next?
Let’s Check In with Peloton Instructors Since They Left Last Year
Some Peloton members are still recovering from the departure of their beloved instructors Ross Rayburn, Kristin McGee, and Kendall Toole, who taught their last classes in May of 2024. (Others are inflamed over the recent dustup concerning another past instructor who is no longer so beloved, but that’s another story!). Now that a year has passed since we all processed the news, we decided to check in on old friends Ross, Kristin and Kendall. Have you been keeping up with their goings-on?

Former Instructor Ross Rayburn visits New Zealand
Ross Rayburn: A Life of Adventure and Reflection
Since his amicable departure from Peloton in mid-2024, Ross Rayburn has been enjoying life to the fullest! Continuing to share lessons from his book “Turning Inward” while traveling the world with his talented husband, the award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, Ross has been sharing a bit less online, but likely enjoying his experiences much more. He even completed a bucket list trip to New Zealand!

Ross celebrates award win with his husband
His fans at Peloton continue to muse online about his unique biomechanical cueing and his epic sleep meditations. Luckily his library On Demand is still intact. If you miss Ross, you’re not alone. If you’ve never tried his classes, give them a shot!

Kristin McGee: Embracing New Opportunities
Kristin McGee’s Brand Collaborations and Substack Success
Kristin McGee has embraced many new opportunities since her departure from Peloton. No surprise, as her positive personality is a magnet for brands to attract new followers and she chooses companies that make sense in her life. In the last year, we have seen her promoting brands for moving, as she moved out of NYC; pet food, as followers know how much her cat Lucky means to her family; and a variety of wellness/nutritional supplements and yoga gear, which aligns with her new content in that space.
Kristin successfully launched a Substack newsletter that she also shares on her Instagram. Fans who knew her from Peloton were relieved that she continued to connect directly online with the same excellent content she is known for (like her Tip Tuesdays… the same, just filmed in a different house!) plus thoughtful reflections on life and parenting. Interestingly, she recently shared some thoughts on her professional path. She noted poignantly that while she pursued an online role with a leading Pilates platform, she was rejected. But then, she encountered a different opportunity that made more sense for her… She hasn’t yet revealed specifics yet, but we are looking forward to her announcement and we appreciate how she frames life’s challenges.
From NYC to France: Kristin’s Yoga Journey
While everyone is happy that Kristin’s Peloton classes remain active in Peloton’s On Demand library, she has also created plenty of new ways to exercise with her. Since leaving Peloton she has:
- Been an artist in residence at Equinox in NYC
- Led a weeklong yoga retreat in Chalais, France
- Participated at Lululemon events
- Hosted Manhattan West’s Run Club
- Offered Yoga Teacher Training classes
- Been featured as a Speaker at special events such as at The Lodge at Woodloch
- Updated her YouTube channel with yoga videos
What a way to stay connected and engaged with her fans!
Kristin McGee’s New Book and Family Life
When she is not instructing and inspiring, Kristin has been working on her writing and cooking. Her Substack newsletter frequently has a recipe tie-in and she is always on the hunt for new ways to creatively feed her three growing boys. She is also a frequent podcast guest on some popular lifestyle shows.
In addition to her weekly communications, Kristin also released a book in May of 2025 called Somatic Exercises for Dummies! This is a very comprehensive how-to on understanding a new level of how your body works.
Recently, Kristin has teased that she will have some news to share. No one is expecting her to return to Peloton (though many would love it if she did) but we are excited for her to announce her next big step.
Kendall Toole: A Year of Change and Advocacy
Of the three departures, Kendall’s was the rockiest, and a year later, continues to be contentious (at least from her perspective on TikTok). She appears to be taking a cue from JJ by rehashing her troubled relationship with her former employer now that the one-year mark has passed. Seemingly still shackled by a Non Disclosure Agreement, she doesn’t share anything new on this topic, but she continues to refer to her experience as being, well, suboptimal, to put it kindly.
Kendall Toole’s Mental Health Advocacy
Since leaving, Kendall has explored several avenues in fitness and wellness. Always a strong advocate for mental health awareness, she has partnered with organizations such as NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) to promote education and support. She launched a short-lived podcast with a friend, and has appeared as a guest on several other podcasts. Like Kristin, she is leaning into nutritional content. She recently launched an IG account under her NKO moniker with recipes and more (though it’s still under construction).
From TikTok to YouTube: Kendall’s New Ventures
Interestingly, she more recently shared a video on her IG announcing that YouTube will be the best place to find her content moving forward Her new vlog series there is a celebrity-filled fun fest of upbeat content you might expect to see (with notables like soccer star David Beckham and Ryan Serhant of NYC real estate fame). She is also forming a new charity.
Kendall Toole’s Life in Miami and Beyond
Moving to Jupiter, Florida (where Callie Gullickson lives) and then to Miami, Kendall continues to live life at an active pace, adding in new professional ventures as they present themselves. Though she likes to keep the details under wraps, fans will be happy to hear she says she is bringing back her “Chats on the Green” where she connects directly with her IG followers on “Lives” there while sitting on her green couch. Tune in to hear about her recent European travels, her new life setting up in Miami, her love life with the boyfriend she revealed last year, and more. We never quite know what’s going to come next, but we are excited to see her next announcements!
