Why you loved them!

Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one favorite (clear by the number of bookmarked classes we have to “take later”), but these reviews make it easy! Here’s what the TCO Community had to say about their favorite classes from the last week.

1. Favorite Peloton Power Zone Ride

04/06/2024 90 Minute Power Zone Endurance Ride  with Matt Wilpers

Matt Wilpers 90 min PZ endurance

You all loved that former pro cyclist Christian Vande Veld is back!  He was a favorite instructor before he left Peloton for a while, and his return was announced in a class he taught with Matt Wilpers, who re-introduced him to the Peloton platform during the class.  (You all enjoyed both classes so much that it was really a toss-up between both classes as your favorite, but his solo class is our Unstackable class this week, so stay tuned for more on that later!)    If you want more information about him, check out The Clip Out’s recent article showcasing his return to the Peloton platform

Matt’s ride focused on endurance in zones 2 and 3 and had a fantastic playlist.  Cathay Peate said “Christian Vande Velde was in studio and Matt interviewed him.  It was great to see [Christian] again and the interview sections were really fun.”  Many readers said it was a toss-up between this and Christian’s 45-minute debut ride for their favorite this week!

2.  Favorite Peloton Ride

04/05/2024 House Ride with Jess King

Jess King’s house rides never disappoint, and for Peloton community member Sue Fleishman this ride was especially exciting because she took it in studio (we’re jealous, Sue!)  This class featured music from danceable artists such as David Guetta, Sam Smith, Disclosure, and more!

This class combined the best music of the Jess King Experience and her house rides in the past.  Jess danced, she cranked up the resistance (including some challenging resistance intervals) and cadence, and the beat of the music pushed everyone to their highest effort!

Sue Fleischman said that it was her favorite class because “I got to be there and it was the best of the Jess King Experience, which I loved!”  Jess certainly danced her way through this class, and you surely will too!

3. Favorite Peloton Run

03/28/2024 Cardi B Run with Marcel Dinkins

While some of you could take or leave Cardi B, others loved this Artist Series – and the music is certainly upbeat and motivating for workouts.  The playlist included collaborations with other artists, including MeganTheeStallion and Selena Gomez.

Diana Volk said “The Cardi B run was amazing- the song choices were perfect, it was fully uncensored, and with the walking breaks you could really push on the run portions.  11/10.  First run I want to do again.”

4. Favorite Peloton Strength Class

02/09/2024 45 minute Full Body Class with Rebecca Kennedy

Kim Harden Battles said, “Rebecca Kennedy added a 45-minute full body into her unofficial split and it’s a good one!”   Rebecca has an official 5-day split but also has an “unofficial” 4-day split that she outlined on her Instagram account.  It also includes a 30-minute upper body strength, and 30-minute Glutes and Legs class, 30 minute Upper Body Strength class.  She advises repeating the classes for 4 to 8 weeks and then taking a “deload” week.    It uses light, medium, and heavy dumbbells and works all the body parts, and Rebecca encourages lifting heavy in some parts while focusing on high reps / low weights in other portions of the class.

5. Favorite Unstackable Peloton Ride

Sometimes we want a class that leaves us in a puddle and washes all hope of a stack of extra classes away with it. We call those classes Unstackable, and we love hearing about our listeners’ Unstackable experiences.

04/07/2024 45 Minute Pro Cyclist Ride  with Christian Vande Velde

This class was very technical, with intervals, strategic recovery, and tips and tricks from  Christian, to give it an outdoor ride feel.  Christian’s energy was apparent in this class.  Courtney Cassel Brinckerhoff said, “[This] ride gets a rare Unstackable from me.  I don’t usually do power zone, but even not following his “advice” to just follow his metrics I was hot and sweaty.  He was at 60+ resistance / 90 cadence for 4 minutes!  That is how some people get those high outputs!”  Another Clipout listener, Katherine Doelger, was appreciative that, as a West Coast rider, the class was at 9 AM PST.

This class got the “chef’s kiss” from Jodi Hohman Palamides, and it seems like everyone who took it agrees!

Thank you!
