Peloton updates restocking fees for apparel . . . Again
NEW THIS WEEK: Peloton is no longer waiving restocking fees for items returned to Peloton showrooms. The ONLY exception is if you purchased the items from THAT showroom.
When Peloton first added the restocking fee, you could return to any Peloton showroom free or charge – but if you wanted to mail in your return, you would be charged a $9 restocking fee. Although Peloton has NOT yet updated their website, members who attempted to make returns to showrooms last week were charged the restocking fee. Peloton Showroom Associates anonymously confirmed the reports, stating that Peloton changed the policy in the middle of the week this past week.
Peloton Members are really unhappy with the change, many stating they will never buy Peloton clothes again. (We remain unconvinced that will be the case). Also worth pointing out, if you check out social media hundreds of members openly admit they bought the same item in multiple sizes and only kept the ones that fit the best, returning the rest and expecting that service for free.
Perhaps that is one reason Peloton instituted this restocking fee on all orders.
Other updates Peloton has recently added:
For an additional fee ($6.95), you can have your return picked up at your home in some areas. This is in addition to the $9 restocking fee.
The remainder of the return process appears to be the same. You can still get a full refund to your original form of payment if you make your return within 30 days of purchase. You can also return a Peloton apparel gift and will be issued a gift card once the item is received.
Will this deter you from returning your apparel items and perhaps send you looking for a friend who may be interested or do you think you’ll still be sending your returns packing? Let us know in the comments!
