Peloton Hidden Gems: Charlotte Weidenbach
Let’s get right to it. If you aren’t a German Peloton member and you know Charlotte Weidenbach’s name, it’s probably for one of two reasons:
- You love Metal.
- You love Power Zone.
And if you don’t fall into either camp? It’s possible that you’ve scrolled right past her name.
In fact, you may not have even seen her name. If you don’t have German subtitles enabled on your Bike or app, the majority of her classes may not naturally surface for you at all. Which means one of the most strategically thoughtful instructors on the platform could be sitting in your Peloton On Demand library… undiscovered. And that, frankly, is a mistake.
Among Peloton’s metalheads, she’s long been a go-to. Charlotte is the instructor riders seek out when they want equal parts grit and intensity. The Clip Out even dubbed her the platform’s metal authority in an article a couple of years ago. We see her Metal game and we honor it.
But, while Charlotte Weidenbach absolutely delivers for the metalheads, reducing her to “the Metal instructor” is like calling a Swiss Army knife a bottle opener. Technically correct but wildly incomplete.
Charlotte Weidenbach: More Than a Playlist
Here’s something many members may not realize: Charlotte is a fully-trained, deeply-informed physician. That perspective shapes everything Dr. Charlotte Weidenbach does on the Peloton platform. Her programming isn’t random, her recovery cues aren’t filler, and her low-impact rides aren’t just “easy days” to round out a schedule. There’s intention behind it all.
She approaches fitness through a prevention lens, not just performance or treatment, but longevity and sustainability. The idea that how you train today affects how you live ten years from now isn’t a trend for her; it’s a foundation.
In fact, she’s been ahead of the current longevity trend for years. And she extends that philosophy beyond the Bike, using Instagram as a practical education hub where she teaches people how to apply these concepts to real life.

Through Reels and regular Q&As in her Stories, she breaks down medical and physiological insights in a way that feels empowering and actionable, never intimidating while being very clear that the information she gives you is not medical advice. It’s truly just for your own education. You come away understanding your body and your training a little better, without feeling like you accidentally enrolled in a continuing education course. That’s a skill in itself.
The Range You Might Be Missing
Ok, yes. We mentioned it above: Charlotte loves a Metal class (and metalheads love her for those classes!) and she’s an incredible Power Zone instructor. If you want to empty the tank and either flirt with or smash a PR, clip in for one of her Metal rides and let Charlotte cook. These classes are high energy, emotionally charged, and might even leave you feeling like you want to run through a wall (assuming you have any post-class energy left).
But, she’s not just Metal or PZ and it would be a huge mistake to think otherwise. If you haven’t looked, go ahead and take a scroll. You’ll find that there’s so much more that metal in Charlotte’s catalog of classes. There’s Techno, Trance, Deep House, Classical, Rock, Climbs, HIIT & Hills, Tabata, Intervals & Arms, Low Impact, Recovery and even a class in the RE–SPiN x Peloton Menopause Health Collection.
Her signature Rockstalgia rides are deeply curated and story-driven with playlists that are built for singing along. We’re talking Aerosmith, Tina Turner, Elvis, Queen, AC/DC, Clapton, Metallica and so much more. Want to slow it down a little, but still put work in? Her November 22, 2025 15-minute low-impact ride with ballads is a quiet standout that people are definitely missing out on. Her Power Zone Endurance rides are measured and strategic. Her Techno and Trance classes lean into rhythm and flow instead of chaos.
There is, quite literally, something for everyone. But if you’ve already decided she’s “not your genre,” you’d never know…you know?
What the Community Sees
Need more convincing? Don’t just take our word for it. We reached out to members of the Peloton community to ask what keeps them coming back to Charlotte’s classes and the responses reinforced everything we’ve already told you.
Our own TCO writer #MinuteToSpinIt said, “When I take Power Zone rides, I’m looking for music I like, commentary that helps me understand what my body is experiencing, and an upbeat personality that pulls me in and helps propel me forward.
Charlotte Weidenbach is all of these things for me. You’re there to work but it’s not punishment, it’s progress. On her regular rides, she gets to exhibit more of her personality, and I’m often drawn to her theme rides or 2 for 1s (her Anastacia ride with Hannah F was one of my favorite rides of all of 2025!). Though I wish she had more PZ rides in English, I always know when I clip in with her I’m going to get a solid workout and I’ll be smiling at the end.”

Instagram review of Charlotte Weidenbach and Hannah Frankson’s 2-for-1 Anastacia Ride from #MinuteToSpinIt
Note: the Anastacia ride was SO good, it made the TCO Top Music Moments of 2025 list.
Another member, #HandOnYrBackPZ, appreciated Charlotte’s role in the Pelo ReSpin Menopause series. “Even though Charlotte isn’t in that life stage herself, her insight as a physician added context and clarity to the programming.” She also described Charlotte as a “secret (not so secret) Power Zone favorite,” with one simple tip: turn on the subtitles and prepare for a lot of “hell yes!!”
And #Beth_2point0 calls Charlotte “a Power Zone treasure.” For PZYogis, she embodies sthira and sukha, effort and ease. “I love getting into the flow state with Charlotte on an endurance ride or hitting anaerobic capacity during a max effort. Her playlists are always on point!”
In case you can’t tell, the members who take Charlotte’s classes already know what you’re missing. If you can feel your FOMO kicking in, good. It should be.
Why She’s Worth Noticing and Easy to Miss
Here’s the thing about Charlotte: she’s structured without being rigid and intense without being punishing. She has a balance that feels genuinely human. She is a disciplined doctor, a festival regular, and yes, a metalhead. In other words, she brings both power and calm, fun and seriousness, which is exactly what most of us want in an instructor.
That said, layered instructors do not always dominate your feed. Sometimes they sit quietly in the On Demand library waiting to be discovered, and that becomes even less likely when German language settings are not enabled.
Helpful Hints for Your First Ride with Charlotte
If you’re new to taking classes in German (or just want a confidence boost before you clip in), here are a few quick tips to make the experience seamless.
A Few Words You’ll Hear
You don’t need to be fluent. Recognizing even a few terms goes a long way.
- Cadence → Kadenz
- Resistance → Widerstand
- Output → Ausgabe
- Climb → Aufstieg
- Flat Road → Flache Straße (strasse)
- Interval → Intervall
- Recover → Genesen
Numbers 1–10
No one wants to miss a countdown, so here are a few words that will come in clutch there.
1 eins
2 zwei
3 drei
4 vier
5 fünf
6 sechs
7 sieben
8 acht
9 neun
10 zehn
In case you can’t tell, some of them sound remarkably close to english numbers, which means you’ll pick it up faster than you think.
Helpful Hack
Bike+ riders: turn on auto-follow resistance (auto-settings). It removes any guesswork so you can just ride.
Non-Bike+ riders:
If you’re worried about keeping up, open the leaderboard, tap on a name or two to see where others are at and follow one of their cadence and resistance ranges. If their numbers look…umm, heroic, just pick a new rider until you see numbers that make sense. There’s always a reasonable benchmark to follow. That said, within a ride or two, you’ll have it all figured out, we promise.
We’ve Made Our Case, Now The Rest is Up to You
So, here’s your nudge. If you’ve been scrolling past Charlotte, or missing her entirely, you might want to stop doing that. Doesn’t this feel like the perfect time to expand your own instructor horizons? Hell yes it does!
In the wise words of noted poet group En Vogue (probably), free your mind… and the sweat will follow. Do yourself a favor and enable your German subtitles. Then, open the app or hop on your Bike, pick one of Charlotte’s many on-demand classes, or catch her live, clip in and go! By the time you finish the class, you may find that your new favorite instructor has been hiding in plain sight all along.
Sometimes the best part of Peloton isn’t what’s trending, it’s what you discover when you look a little closer.
