A Milestone in 2 for 1 Cycling

This upcoming 2 for 1 cycling session stands out from typical dual rides. Fans know Mayla Wedekind as a staple of the German cycling team. However, Assal Arian has never taught on the Bike before. She typically leads Strength and Stretching classes, including foam rolling, and is known for her strength series Bauch Beine Po. This crossover creates an exciting dynamic for members.

Assal brings her strength-focused intensity to a cardio format. Mayla provides the technical cycling expertise. Together, they offer a balanced yet challenging experience.  This is not the first time Mayla and Assal have teamed up for special classes; they have previously collaborated on classes like pre- and post-natal sessions (details here).  This follows a trend of instructors stepping outside their main disciplines. It keeps the content fresh and engaging.

Celebrating Women’s History Month

Peloton uses March to highlight female empowerment through fitness. This 2 for 1 cycling class fits perfectly into that narrative. Both instructors are known for their strong voices and advocacy. They frequently discuss resilience and mental toughness.

Mayla often curates playlists with powerful female artists. Her rides usually feature indie and rock genres. Assal focuses on inner strength and discipline. Combining their styles creates a comprehensive workout. The class aims to celebrate women’s achievements through sweat and community.

Examining the Instructor Dynamic

Regular riders know what to expect from Mayla. She coaches with a calm, cool, and collected demeanor. Her instruction is precise and music-driven. Assal brings a different energy to the studio. Her teaching style is often described as “tough love.” She pushes members to find their limits.

Merging these two approaches for a 2 for 1 cycling class will be interesting. Mayla’s flow complements Assal’s intensity. Members can expect a workout that tests both endurance and will. The chemistry between instructors often defines these dual classes. This pairing promises a mix of motivation and technical focus.

German Instruction with Global Appeal

The class will be conducted entirely in German. This highlights the growth of Peloton’s international team and showcases the depth of talent in the German studio. Non-German speakers should not be deterred. Subtitles hopefully be available once the class is on demand and in the library.

The energy of a 2 for 1 cycling class transcends language barriers. The instructors’ body language guides the workout effectively. Music also serves as a universal motivator. Members from all regions can join the leaderboard. It is a chance to connect with the global Peloton community.

Preparing for the Ride

Members should mark their schedules for the March 8th for the 2 for 1 cycling premiere. The live slot is early for US riders at 4:30 AM ET / 1:30 AM PT. This timing aligns better with European time zones, 8:30 AM London / 9:30 AM Germany. On-demand access will be available shortly after the live ride finishes. You can take this class on the Bike, Bike+, or App.

Expanding the 2 for 1 Cycling Format

Peloton continues to push the boundaries of its programming, with dual rides emerging as a favorite way to build community. A recent example highlights why: the Black History Month “2-for-1” cycling class featuring Kirsten Ferguson and Tunde Oyeneyin was a hit, blending fun and camaraderie while celebrating connection and sisterhood. These collaborative rides let instructors engage with each other and members in fresh ways, and this particular pairing hints at Peloton’s willingness to experiment across disciplines.

When Assal steps onto the bike, it opens the door for more crossover experiences. Bringing instructors from Strength, Tread, and Cycling together gives members the chance to see their favorite coaches in new environments. This ride may be just the beginning, signaling a year of creative collaborations and crossover events in 2026.
