Peloton Instructor Tobias Heinze Announces Departure

Update: Tobias just announced his departure.  We were worried this was the case but we are so sorry to see this!

Moments after Tobias’ announcement, Peloton posted this press update.  It reads:

As part of the Peloton community, Members know that evolution is core to the Peloton brand, whether through the latest playlist, a new class modality, a new product offering, or the latest feature in the Peloton App. Change is constant.

Recently, our team of Instructors completed contract discussions, a normal course of business when working with professional athletes (although they are far more than that). Three (out of 57) valued and tenured teammates departed. We’ve refrained from previously commenting at length about this process out of respect for our Instructors, past and present. The process takes over a year and shows great care to each individual, their contributions and our business needs.

The value and impact our Instructors bring to our Community is unmatched. We will continue to expand how their unique voices and expertise are leveraged in support of our Member goals, creating the best-in-class Member experience for which Peloton is known. As we think about our future, we are excited about the opportunity to bring new talent to our Instructor roster to continue offering an impactful and entertaining experience for our Community.

Separate from the recent contract process, German Instructor Tobias Heinz will also be parting ways with Peloton, as of today. We wish Tobias the best in his next chapter.

At The Clip Out, we are sorry to see another instructor leaving Peloton. And it seems Tobias will not be leading a farewell class, which is very sad to see.

Hey Peloton runners and Tobias Heinze fans! Have you noticed swhat we’ve noticed? Peloton Tread instructor, Tobias Heinze, has mysteriously vanished from the live class schedule. No new classes, no updates—just radio silence.

What Happened?

Here’s the scoop (or what we know so far):

  • No New Classes: Tobias has no future classes scheduled, and the ones that were listed have been mysteriously removed from the live schedule.
  • Pre-Recorded Content: Yesterday June 29, some new On Demand classes led by Tobias did drop, but they were pre-recorded.
  • Radio Silence: Attempts to reach out to him from our team have gone unanswered.
  • Current Status: He is still listed as an instructor for previous classes but is no longer part of the drop-down menu for the upcoming live class schedule.

Why the Silence?

We know you’re curious, and honestly, so are we! Could it be a personal issue? Maybe a sabbatical? Or is it something more serious? Without an official word from Tobias or Peloton, your guess is as good as ours.  Let’s hope Tobias, his wife, and his two children are all doing well and we soon hear of an explanation for his sudden absence.

What’s Next?

For now, we’ll have to make do with the amazing library of classes Tobias has already blessed us with. If you haven’t tried them yet, now is the perfect time to explore his pre-recorded content. Trust us; it’s worth it.

Stay Tuned

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more. Until then, keep running, stay motivated, and let’s send some positive vibes Tobias’ way.  For all Tobias’ biggest fans, be sure to check out his new content that dropped yesterday and we hope to pop in with a positive update regarding him very soon!
