This and That: Week of August 10

It’s the second week of August already, how did that happen?!  If you have school-aged kids, perhaps you’re getting ready for back-to-school time and if you don’t, it’s almost time for fall!  Lots of news from the Peloton world this week, but as always, we chose five of the most exciting things to share with you in this week’s This and That!

Take a Break for New Lane Breaks!

DJ John Michael announced some new Lane Break classes this week on his Instagram.  On both the Bike and the Tread, these classes are great for when you just want to focus on the music and the metrics without listening to dialogue or looking at an instructor.  There is a Zach Bryan class available on both Bike and Tread, as well as some rock options and even a Latin House Tread warm up.  We look forward to trying them out and hope you do too!

Pace Target Events at PSL and PSNY

If you haven’t tried the new Pace Target feature on the Tread, you’ve got to give it a try.  Think of this as a cousin to Power Zone – there are specific Tread classes that offer Pace Targets, and you choose your running level before starting the class.  Your Pace Targets are then displayed throughout the ride so you know exactly what range to hit through the different intervals.  Tried it and loved it?  You may want to head to PSNY Thursday, August 14 from 5:00-6:00pm EST or to PSL Friday, August 15 from 4:30-6:00pm BST.  Pre-registration is required and you can hear from the team behind Pace Targets and learn more about how to best utilize the feature.

Group of Peloton Instructors Work It at Missy Elliott Concert

Frequent and popular Peloton fashion collaborator Brittany Allen posted herself along with some Peloton faves – DJ John Michael, Rebecca Kennedy, Andy Speer, Jess King, and Adrian Williams – out at the Missy Elliott concert. The fashion was on point as Andy sported black pants with flames on them and Jess King rocked an electric green crossbody bag.  Allen alluded in her post to the next dance party being Rebecca and Andy’s wedding, and we surely cannot wait for that celebration!

Jon Hosking Celebrates 4 Years with Peloton

Happy four year Peloversary to Jon Hosking, who taught his first Peloton class August 9, 2020.  Posting a spectacular photo of him hugging the in-studio ‘P’ on Instagram, Hosking recalls how teaching on the Tread increased his confidence and how it is a privilege for him to teach members. Jon always makes us smile with his incredible sense of humor, and we look forward to the next four years with him!

Christine Wins Masters Track National Championship

Congrats are in order for Christine D’Ercole!  She took to Instagram to post some photos of her after winning the USA Cycling’s Masters Track National Championship.  Looking stunning and proud with her medal, Christine reflected on the beautiful sky on the day of the race and included some breathtaking photos in her collage.  Proving every day that she is, she can, she will, and she does, Christine never fails to impress us with her cycling feats.  Congrats, Christine!

That wraps up This and That for the week of August 10, but we’ll see you next week for the next installment: same time, same place!
