Evvie Drake Starts Over TCO Book Club Recap

The Clip Out Book Club- December Meeting Recap

The December meeting of  the Clip Out’s book club found us delving into thoughts about keeping secrets, whether men and women can just be friends, and what to do when our plans for our lives don’t align with reality.  We discussed Linda Holmesbook “Evvie Drake Starts Over” (and Evvie rhymes with Chevy, not Stevie, folks, just so you know.).

We found the book to be somewhat sad at times, and very poignant and thought provoking.  In fact, the theme of the book very much matched the motto we Pelotoners live by every day – everyone is trying their best, and our best is good enough even when wish things were different.  Our plans for our lives often get interrupted and changed, yet we can go with the flow and continue on.  We talked about our middle school years, growing up in small towns, and what can happen when we marry our high school sweetheart.

If your New Years resolution includes reading more, we’ve got your first two books picked out for you!  Our January book will be Book Lovers by Emily Henry – join us on January 9th at 7 p.m. c.t.  to join our discussion.  Plus, we are so excited to announce that our February book will be the first book we will read that is written by a Peloton instructor.  We will be reading Ross Rayburn’s brand new book,  “Turning Inward:  The Practice of Introversion for a Calm, Joyful, Authentic Life”, which will be released on January 9, 2024 (available here for Pre-order.)  Join us on February 13, 2024  at 7 p.m. c.t. (Valentine’s Day Eve, as Tom correctly pointed out) to discuss Ross’ book and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Clip Out fans!  T

The book club meetings are  open to all levels of Patreon members, even the free level!  We hope to see you there.
