The Challenges of Train Like a Superhero with Peloton
Have you tried the new Train Like a Superhero program on Peloton? This one-week collaboration with Marvel dropped last week, bringing us workouts inspired by Captain America himself. Yep, in celebration of the upcoming release of Captain America: Brave New World, Peloton teamed up with Anthony Mackie (aka Sam Wilson, aka Captain America) to help us “unlock our inner power.”
From February 7th to 14th, users have the chance to crush their fitness goals, earn exclusive superhero-themed Peloton badges, and feel like they’ve just stepped out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But how does this Marvel-inspired adventure actually stack up? Here’s our deep dive into the program, its highs, lows, and everything in between.
What’s the Train Like a Superhero Challenge All About?
The premise is simple—complete themed workouts as part of Peloton’s Train Like a Superhero collection to unlock three special badges:
- Bronze: Complete 3 workouts
- Silver: Complete 5 workouts
- Gold: Complete all 7 workouts
Sounds straightforward, right? Well, not so fast. While Peloton promised us a lineup of power-packed classes, curated from their existing workout catalog, some participants have reported… glitches in the Matrix (or should we say, Vibranium shield?).
Peloton’s Superhero Challenge Execution – Hit or Miss?
We love the idea of getting stronger while channeling our inner Captain America. But users across social media have been calling out a few issues with how the program has been rolled out. Here’s what they’re saying:
1. Super Glitches, Super Confusion
Some users woke up Friday morning to find a gold badge already waiting for them—and from classes they didn’t even take! Apparently, random workouts outside of the challenge were being counted. Meanwhile, other users put in the hard work, completed multiple classes, and earned… nothing.
Worse still, some members weren’t able to find the challenge on their Tread, Bike, or App at all, leaving them wondering if they’d fallen into an alternate reality.
Pro Tip: If you’re one of those who can’t access the challenge, double-check for any app updates or again today as the issue is reported to be resolved by impacted users.
2. Class Lineup – Superhero or Super Random?
The program currently includes six classes (with rumors of a seventh ride/run with Alex Toussaint dropping mid-week):
- 20 min Intermediate Upper Body (Tunde) – 1/4/25
- 20 min Glutes & Legs (Adrian) – 7/23/24
- 20 min Full Body Mobility (Kirra) – 8/14/24
- 30 min Full Body Strength (Andy) – 7/8/24
- 20 min Full Body Stretching (Rebecca) – 8/19/24
- 20 min HIIT Cardio (Rad) – 8/20/24
While Marvel-themed workouts sound seriously exciting, some users have expressed disappointment with the class curation. Many are older classes, leaving some wishing for shiny, brand-new premieres that feel truly superhero-worthy.
3. Challenge Requirements = Loki Level Hard
Even now, mid-challenge, the exact criteria for earning badges remain murky. Are all six classes mandatory for the gold? Why are some users getting badges after only three workouts? There seem to be many variants at play.
Is Train Like a Superhero Worth It?
Despite the glitches and hiccups, this challenge does offer a fun and fresh way to spice up your routine—especially if you’re a Marvel fan! The workouts themselves are solid, with options catering to all levels of superhero training. Plus, who doesn’t love snagging a few exclusive Peloton badges?
However, for fans expecting a Marvel-laden experience, the lack of new classes with themed music or a Brittany Allen super ‘fit may leave you wanting more.
What We’d Love to See Next Time
If Peloton and Marvel launch another collaboration (we’re already manifesting this), here’s what could take it to the next level:
- Themed Classes: Imagine on-demand workouts scored with superhero soundtracks—pure magic!
- A Clear Roadmap: Better communication about badge requirements would save everyone a lot of confusion.
- Exclusive, NEW Content: Custom workouts featuring brand-new recordings would elevate the program from cool to absolutely epic.
Have You Earned Your Super Badge Yet?
Whether you love strength training with Tunde or need some HIIT motivation from Rad, the Train Like a Superhero challenge offers a great way to stay consistent and flex your training muscle. Have we hit a few bumps along the way? Sure. But it’s still a blast channeling that superhero energy.

Oh, and one last thing…if you see Anthony Mackie on the leaderboard, don’t forget to give him a high-five! 💪🏼✨
