Why you loved them!

Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one favorite, but these reviews make it easy! Here’s what the TCO Community had to say about their favorite classes from the last week.

1. Favorite Peloton Strength

12/4/2023 10 min Arms & Shoulders Strength with Rebecca Kennedy

Tracey Lambe shared a burner of an upper body class this week. She
said, “This was only 10 mins but was by far a tricep burnout – my triceps are rarely sore and they hurt for 2-3 days after.”

Tracy is not kidding about the triceps focus! Out of the 10 minutes, about 7 are spent on the tris! But Rebecca keeps you motivated with her energy and playlist, with music from Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and Fergie.

2. Favorite Peloton Row Bootcamp

3/26/24 30 min Pop Punk Bootcamp with Katie Wang

Sonya Norman found a dose of sweaty happiness on the Row this week. She said, “Katie’s 30 minute pop punk bootcamp from 3/26. It was [Katie’s] first workout after her time off and you could tell she was so happy to be back. The workout was great and the playlist was perfect!”

The class features pop punk greats Paramore, New Found Glory, Sum 41, and The All-American Rejects. The class plan is a Row-Strength-Row sandwhich, with the middle 14 minutes dedicated to bicep curls, pushups, presses, and squats. The class is a quick and happy workout to get your mood and heart rate up!

3. Favorite Peloton Ride

3/30/24 45 min Classic Rock Ride with Denis Morton

Douglas (chronicpop) found some classic rock and classic Denis to boost his week. He said, “Denis Morton’s 45m Classic Rock Ride from March 30 has one of his most eclectic sets (King Crimson) and he was fired up more than usual though that’s hard to believe.”

The classic rock setlist is made up of what he calls “the long songs” from Van Morrison, Cream, The Allman Brothers, King Crimson, Kansas, The Beatles, Bad Company, Meatloaf, and Pink Floyd.

With a studio full of enthusiastic riders, Denis was on fire and rocking out more than ever (but always to the beat, of course). He peppers in a dash of choreography, and as always provides some of the best cues to help connect your body to the bike as efficiently and effectively as possible. Take this class to get your legs pumping and your heart pumping!

4. Favorite Peloton Run

3/30/24 75 min Pop Run with Becs Gentry

Katherine Axani (CanadaKath) celebrated PSNY’s first 75-minute Tread Run this week! She said, “Have to put my vote in for Becs’ 75 minute pop run from March 30. Essentially an intervals run, the time absolutely flew by with both Becs’ signature coaching and story telling, and an absolutely lit leaderboard (over 1000 people on a live 75 minute run!).”

While PSL has had four Runs over the 60 minute mark, this is PSNY’s first. Becs helps Members go the distance with an energetic pop playlist featuring Christina Aguilera, Naughty By Nature, Taylor Swift (several songs!), Sia, One Direction, and so many more. Speaking of music, Becs shared that she’s avoided Peloton’s typical “jock jams” playlists because in the UK the word jock is associated not with sports but with men’s underwear. This is the kind of insight we have time for in a 75-minute run, teehee!

Becs describes the class program as fitness-focused, but molded to the music, which lends nicely to an intervals structure. It includes everything from recovery running to progressions, tempo running, and sprints. You’ll even face some hills throughout! But always with a forgiving recovery after.

While most hour-plus classes would by default fall under our Unstackable category, Becs insists on making most of this class easy and manageable–because forward is a pace, and 75 minutes is a long time to be doing it!

5. Favorite Unstackable Peloton Ride

3/30/24 45 min Power Zone Max Ride with Matt Wilpers

Sometimes we want a class that leaves us in a puddle and washes all hope of a stack of extra classes away with it. We call those classes Unstackable, and we love hearing about our listeners’ Unstackable experiences.

For this week’s Unstackable recommendation, we heard from Mindy Jensen. She said, “Unstackable was Matt’s Power Zone Max ride from Saturday, March 30. It was tough but doable. He provides just enough recovery to hit the next block hard, but 45 minutes later and lots of sweat, I was done. 😂”

Any Power Zone Max Ride is gonna fall under Unstackable in my book. By definition, efforts in the max range are meant to be the absolute most you can give. We are all so fortunate to have coaches who can help us move in and out of max efforts for any length of time–and 45 minutes of it is no joke!

Thank you!
