TCO Top 5 Favorite Peloton classes: Stay motivated with this week’s picks (2/12/2024)

Every Monday, we ask the Clip Out community to share their favorite class from the last week. Your stories of love, sweat, and tears always inspire us to keep moving. We are excited to share the five most enthusiastic nominations (in no particular order) and a quick review of each class. Read on for our weekly dose of motivation!

This week’s favorite Peloton classes:

  1. 1/19/24 30 min 80s Yoga Flow with Ross Rayburn
  2. 2/2/24 20 min Pop Pilates with Kristin McGee
  3. 2/8/24 30 min Timbaland Ride with Tunde Oyeneyin
  4. 2/10/24 30 min Country Pop Walk with Rebecca Kennedy
  5. 2/10/24 60 min 80s Run with Susie Chan

Why you loved them!

Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one favorite, but these reviews make it easy! Here’s what the TCO Community had to say about their favorite classes from the last week.

1. Favorite Peloton Yoga

1/19/24 30 min 80s Yoga Flow with Ross Rayburn

Kate Anthony (KateFromKansas) kicks off this week’s Top 5 with a very fun yoga class.

“Ross Rayburn’s 30 minute 80’s yoga flow from 1/19/24. The music was great and Ross was so funny!” she said.

Ross shares in this class that he was born in 1971, which makes him a member of the last high school graduating class of the 80s (1989—go Clear Lake Falcons!), so the 80s are his time! He chose some 80s gems close ot his heart for the playlist, including Live to Tell by Madonna, Every Time You Go Away by Paul Young, Closer to Fine by Indigo Girls, and Shout by Tears for Fears.

Ross’ stories and sense of humor make this class feel like yoga with a friend… who happens to teach yoga. One highlight is his story of a certain 80s icon attending one of his classes when he was a new yoga teacher—and how it might not have gone very well. But he uses that story to remind us all to let go of perfection and remain open to learning.

This is an all-levels class with cues aimed at beginner to intermediate students. Even though it’s classified as a yoga flow, Ross actually holds each pose long enough for you to get comfortable (or comfortably uncomfortable), find your breath, and explore the posture.

2. Favorite Peloton Pilates

2/2/24 20 min Pop Pilates with Kristin McGee

Mindy Jensen (LuvFitness_Food) is sharing her favorite newer addition to the Peloton Strength catalog. She said:

“I am so happy Peloton has started incorporating props into Pilates and Barre classes. I know [Kristin’s] first 30 minute class with the ring was a [Top 5] pick when it came out, but I loved this one too. The ring adds another level of resistance and challenge to Pilates because it engages your muscles that much more. I definitely feel it the next day!”

This class received quite a bit of buzz this week, as did the concept of prop Pilates in general and Kristin as a wonderful teacher specifically! We couldn’t agree more—and we’re so glad to see the Magic Circle addition wasn’t just a one-time thing.

In addition to turning up the heat with the Magic Circle, Kristin uses an awesome playlist to make this class fire, including songs from Owl City, Shawn Mendes, Troye Sivan, and Ed Sheeran.

To keep the prop Pilates content coming, be sure to take this class so Peloton knows you want more!

3. Favorite Peloton Ride

2/8/24 30 min Timbaland Ride with Tunde Oyeneyin

Peloton’s Timbaland content made quite a few listeners’ favorites lists this week, but Tunde’s Ride got the most love from our listeners.

Kimberly Ray Jessup shared that this class was not just her favorite for the week—it is now one of her favorites of all time!

“Tunde’s Timbaland [Ride] just made my Top 10 fave evers! (Not sure who it bumped :) but what a killer playlist and fun class! She was 🔥🔥🔥!!!”

Talk about high praise—and for good reason! The playlist could stand on its own with Give It To Me featuring Nelly Furtado, The Way I Are featuring Keri Hill, Pony by Genuwine, Wait a Minute by The Pussycat Dolls, 4 Minutes by Madonna and Justin Timberlake, and Partition by Beyoncé. Add to this Tunde’s incredible energy and instruction and this class is absolute lightning in a bottle.

4. Favorite Peloton Walk

2/10/24 30 min Country Pop Walk with Rebecca Kennedy

Rebecca Allen shared a fun new addition from Rebecca Kennedy as her favorite class this week!

“I really enjoyed Rebecca Kennedy’s country walk! It featured popular country hits from the 2000s (with the exception of John Denver during the cool down) but it was an excellent low impact work out with great vibes! I’m healing from an injury so these good vibes walks are just what I need and this was amazing!” she said.

This was Rebecca’s first-ever Country class, and she commemorated the event with her favorite singable Country Pop hits. She pulls in Redneck Woman by Gretchen Wilson, Church Bells by Carrie Underwood, Fast Cars And Freedom by Rascal Flatts, and Not Ready to Make Nice by The Chicks, just to name a few.

The class is appropriate for all-levels and can be taken at your own pace, but each song offers an option for intervals and Rebecca cues two separate hills for an extra optional kick.

5. Favorite Peloton Unstackable Run

2/10/24 60 min 80s Run with Susie Chan

Sometimes we want a class that leaves us in a puddle and washes all hope of a stack of extra classes away with it. We call those classes Unstackable, and we love hearing about our listeners’ Unstackable experiences.

For this week’s Unstackable recommendation, we heard from Carrie.i.frank: “Susie’s 60 min ‘80s run! Daunting amount of time (for me) but perfect playlist and achievable paces = success!”

For most people, an hour run is an Unstackable undertaking, but Susie keeps it fully doable with her calm coaching, two minute-plus walk breaks, and a very fun playlist, including Our House by Madness, Let’s Hear it for the Boys by Deniece Williams, Straight Up by Paula Abdul, and Kids in America by Kim Wilde. Bookmark this class for your next long-run goal!
