Susie Chan

Susie Chan: From Partying to a New Peloton Family

Susie Chan’s journey to becoming a Peloton Tread instructor is nothing short of extraordinary. Once a self-proclaimed partygoer, Susie discovered running later in life when her brother convinced her to join a half marathon. That race ignited a passion that led her to conquer ultramarathons like the Marathon des Sables and even set a Guinness World Record for treadmill running.

Susie’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: “If I can do it, anyone can.” Her relatable approach resonates with runners of all levels, making her a beloved figure in the Peloton community. Whether she’s training for grueling races like the Badwater 135 or inspiring others through her classes, Susie embodies resilience and positivity. Her IG is a wonderful place to go to feel inspired and uplifted by Susie and by other members.

Jeffrey McEachern: Running for Transformation (and Dancing Like Nobody’s Watching)

Jeffrey McEachern’s story is one of personal transformation. A decade ago, Jeffrey found himself at a crossroads, struggling with unhealthy habits and searching for purpose. Running became his lifeline, offering him a sense of freedom and self-discovery. His first race, a half marathon in Berlin, was a turning point that inspired him to help others find their own paths through running.

As a Peloton instructor, Jeffrey uses his platform to motivate and uplift. His mantra, “The only way out is through,” reflects his belief in the transformative power of running. Having recently earned his Six Star Medal at the Tokyo Marathon, Jeffrey is ready to take on Sydney and inspire others to chase their dreams. His positive energy is truly a thing to behold and if you haven’t checked out his IG, you should (even without knowing German)!

Training for a Marathon with Peloton

Preparing for a marathon requires more than just running—it’s about building strength, endurance, and resilience. Peloton offers a variety of classes and programs tailored to marathon training, including strength workouts that complement your running routine.

Why Strength Training Matters

Strength training is a crucial component of marathon preparation. It improves running economy, enhances muscular endurance, and reduces the risk of injury. Peloton instructor Rad Lopez emphasizes the importance of exercises like single-leg deadlifts and side plank crunches, which target key muscle groups for runners.

Peloton Programs for Runners

Peloton’s app features running-specific programs like “Road to Your 26.2,” which combines running and strength workouts to help you prepare for race day. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned marathoner, these classes are designed to support your journey.

Expert Tips for Marathon Training

  • Balance Your Workouts: Alternate between heavy lifting and lighter strength sessions based on your running schedule.
  • Incorporate Plyometrics: Explosive exercises can boost your power and speed.
  • Prioritize Recovery: Use tools like foam rollers or cold plunges to aid muscle recovery.
