Peloton Celebrate Latin and Hispanic Heritage Month
Why We Celebrate Latin & Hispanic Heritage Month
Latin & Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15. It began as a weeklong observance in 1968 before expanding to a full month in 1988. Why those dates? They honor the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, setting the perfect stage for celebrating rich histories and vibrant cultures. Over the decades, LHM has grown into a dynamic tribute to the achievements, struggles, and contributions of Latin and Hispanic communities in the United States.
In 2025, this celebration feels more significant than ever. With Latin voices and influences shaping art, music, science, and public life, we must continue to recognize the role these communities play in building a brighter, more inclusive future for all Americans. This is particularly notable this year, when celebrated musicians like Bad Bunny (who Peloton recognized in his second Artist Series just last week) won’t go on tour in the US for fear of the safety and security of his fans. Here at The Clip Out, we appreciate that it’s business as usual with Peloton being inclusive of all.
Peloton’s Latin & Hispanic Heritage Month Music
This year, Peloton’s classes are going to focus on three distinct musical currents that highlight the depth and diversity of Latin sound. These are Vibras Alternativas, Baile Intenso, and Voces Eternas.
- Vibras Alternativas represents the evolution of traditional sounds into modern expressions. Originating from across Latin America, this style blends rock, pop, and indie with folk roots. Artists like Mexico’s Natalia Lafourcade and Colombia’s Bomba Estéreo are masters of this fusion, creating music that feels both fresh and deeply rooted. Listening to Vibras Alternativas connects you to the contemporary pulse of Latin youth.
- Baile Intenso is all about the energy that gets you on the dance floor. This category includes high-tempo genres like reggaeton from Puerto Rico and Dominican dembow. Titans like Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny have taken these rhythms global, making them a powerful symbol of modern Latin identity and celebration.
- Voces Eternas honors the timeless voices that form the foundation of Latin music. This includes icons of salsa, bolero, and ranchera, such as Cuba’s Celia Cruz and Mexico’s Vicente Fernández. These artists are cultural pillars whose music preserves history and tradition, offering a powerful look into the soul of Latin heritage.

How Will You Celebrate Latin and Hispanic Heritage Month?
With so many classes coming from Peloton, it’s important to demonstrate support for each others communities. Why not try a LHM class and show Peloton you appreciate their programming? There are even new ways to do this in English. Camila’s signature series, the LATAM (Latin America) Tour, is back for its Season 2. These classes, which celebrate the music and culture of a different country, will all be in English for this round. Brazil dropped on 9/14. If you like hearing these songs sprinkled into some of your regular rides, why not try a full 20 or 30 minutes to expand your horizon? Seems like a great way to get your cardio on and warm your heart!
