The Peloton HYROX program is expanding beyond the traditional Peloton platform, adding dedicated gym workouts to give members a truly comprehensive path to race-day readiness. Peloton announced the addition via its Instagram Stories on March 6, providing exercises specifically designed to mirror what athletes face on the HYROX race floor.

HYROX Explained

If you’re new to the HYROX world, here’s the quick rundown: a HYROX race consists of eight one-kilometer runs, each followed by one of eight functional fitness stations. Those stations include crowd-favorites (and crowd-punishers) like sled pushes, rowing, and burpee broad jumps. It’s a format that tests endurance, strength, and grit all in one event, and it has been growing rapidly in popularity around the globe.

Peloton first entered the HYROX space with programming built around its traditional training platform.  That foundation gave members solid cardiovascular preparation, but the gym-based functional movements that define the race format were largely left for athletes to figure out on their own. Not anymore.

The new gym workout component is exactly what dedicated HYROX trainees have been waiting for from the Peloton HYROX program. By targeting the specific functional movements that appear in the race, Peloton is closing the gap between platform-based training and what actually happens on race day. Members no longer need to stitch together a separate gym program or guess which exercises carry over best to competition.

This is a significant step forward in how Peloton positions itself for competitive fitness events. The addition means members can now train across all three modalities under one roof: cardio equipment, running, and strength.

What to Expect From the Gym Workouts

The exercises featured in the March 6 Instagram Stories post are designed to directly complement the cardio and strength work already built into the program. Think movements that replicate the demands of race stations, building the specific strength and muscular endurance needed to push through the back half of a HYROX event when fatigue starts to accumulate.
