Peloton Appoints Mike Wilson as General Manager of Canada

Peloton has announced that it has appointed Mike Wilson as the new General Manager of Canada. In this role, Wilson will be responsible for leading Peloton’s growth strategy in Canada, which includes operations, sales, and piloting new go-to-market growth strategies in the market. Wilson brings more than 20 years of sales, brand management, integrated marketing, and digital experience to the role.

Wilson’s Background in the Tech Space

Before joining Peloton, Wilson was the Canadian Country Manager at Waze and Head of Industry for the Restaurant vertical in North America. During his tenure at Waze, he built and grew the Canadian community and was responsible for partnering with some of the world’s largest brands through the Waze Ads consumer platform. Prior to Waze, Wilson spent seven years at Microsoft, working with brands across Microsoft Advertising’s emerging product portfolio, including Skype, Mobile, and Windows.

Potential to Expand the Peloton Member Base in Canada

Manu Seigner, VP, General Manager, Peloton International, stated that Wilson’s experienced leadership in the Canadian tech space, having previously built and executed growth strategies for well-known brands in the market, makes him the ideal candidate to lead Peloton’s growth strategy in Canada. Seigner expressed confidence in Wilson’s ability to stay hyper-focused on the business while simultaneously ensuring Peloton provides engaging, localized offerings to showcase that the platform is for anyone, anywhere.

Expanding Product Offerings in the Canadian Market

Peloton has been in the Canadian market since 2018, and in October 2023, it expanded its product offerings to include Peloton Row, in addition to existing equipment, including Peloton Bike, Peloton Bike+, Peloton Guide, and Peloton Tread. Canadians (the same as all Peloton members) also have three membership tier options for the Peloton App, including a free tier, giving Members the option to work out anytime, anywhere.

Untapped Potential in Canada

Wilson stated that Peloton has become part of the cultural conversation in Canada’s key urban hubs across the country, which sets a solid foundation for further exploration of untapped potential. He emphasized that the Peloton platform offers a fitness experience for all ages, levels, and walks of life, and he is excited about the opportunity to increase awareness of the brand and continue to grow its membership base through a variety of new avenues.
