Team Peloton’s Exciting Return to the Marcel Dinkins Shamrock Marathon
The Marcel Dinkins Shamrock Marathon connection just got even better. Team Peloton is in Virginia Beach March 20 through 22 for the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend, and the schedule is packed with ways for members to get in on the action.
From a meet and greet to a shakeout run to a cheer zone on race day, this Marcel Dinkins Shamrock Marathon weekend is shaping up to be one of the best community moments of the year.

Marcel and the Shamrock: More Than a Brand Appearance
The Marcel Dinkins Shamrock Marathon relationship is not a new one. Marcel has a documented history with this race, previously serving as the designated hype person for the event and even running it herself.
It is one of the larger running weekends on the East Coast, drawing tens of thousands of participants across the marathon, half marathon, Sentara Half Marathon, and TowneBank 5K. Her connection to the race runs much deeper than a typical brand appearance. This is a race she has personally competed in and credited as meaningful to her own running story.
That personal history makes her presence at the Shamrock even more meaningful for members who make the trip to Virginia Beach and find their favorite Peloton instructor waiting to cheer them on.
It is worth noting that Marcel has had her share of setbacks in recent years, including surgery and a months-long absence followed by her return to the Tread after recovering from an ACL injury. Getting back out to a race she loves, alongside the community she motivates every day, feels like a full-circle moment.

Team Peloton on the Ground
The presence of Team Peloton at a major road race fits a clear pattern. Peloton has been leaning hard into in-person community events, and the Marcel Dinkins Shamrock Marathon weekend is a great example of that strategy in action.
The company said in a recent earnings call that it plans to scale instructor appearances at live events significantly in the coming years. We have already seen this play out at events like Peloton’s appearance at CMA Fest in Nashville, where instructors stepped outside the studio to connect with members in a completely different setting.
For members who make the trip to Virginia Beach for race weekend, this is a chance to connect with an instructor in person, outside the studio and outside the app. That kind of real-world community moment is something no leaderboard can fully replicate.
A Running Community Moment Worth Celebrating
If you are a fan of Marcel and love running, this weekend’s Marcel Dinkins Shamrock Marathon lineup is the kind of event that makes being part of the Peloton community feel special. Whether you are running the full marathon, the half, or just coming to cheer others on, having Marcel there to hype you up is a pretty great bonus.
And if running is something you have been wanting to get more serious about, Marcel is also one of the instructors behind Peloton’s Road to Half Marathon program, a 10-week training plan designed to help members build toward race day from wherever they are starting.
