Speaker 2: Welcome to the Clip Out podcast, episode 4 41. This is Crystal O’Keefe,
Speaker: and this is Tom O’Keefe. So it’s that time of year again.
Speaker 2: It is. It’s
Speaker: Spotify wrapped.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Listen to this. I am Andrew Graham is our first. No, you’re. Our first listener who sent us their Spotify wrapped
Speaker: and, uh, we were both [00:01:00] flattered and contemplating a restraining order.
Speaker 2: So Andrew Graham sent us his, uh, Spotify wrapped and he has listened to the clip out for 12,003 minutes this year.
First of all. Wow. I didn’t even know we had that many minutes.
Speaker: We don’t even listen to each other for 12,000 minutes in a year.
Speaker 2: So we estimated that if each episode was an average of 70 minutes long, we know that’s short for some, we know. Yeah, we know.
Speaker: But at the beginning they were like 25 minutes.
Yeah. Remember those days? I do. Yeah.
Speaker 2: That would be 170 episodes. That’s. That’s a lot of us.
Speaker: That’s a lot of us.
Speaker 2: Andrew Graham, thank you. Yeah. For being such a loyal listener. He is in the top 0.5%.
Speaker: I can’t imagine there’s someone with more I
Speaker 2: know who on Earth could, I mean, [00:02:00] I just don’t even know how we have that much to listen to.
But Andrew said he is going through, starting at the most recent and then he is going backwards through. Okay. And he’s in 2022 or 2023 now. Woo. You got a long ride ahead of you. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: I don’t know that I could listen to it in reverse chronological order.
Speaker 2: I don’t know that I could either, but I think
Speaker: that would drive me crazy.
Speaker 2: But we lived it the other way, so that’s fair. Yeah. It’s a little different when you’re just joining the the, uh. The world because now you’re kind of looking at it as a history thing versus Yeah, but I think
Speaker: even then, like you don’t, like, start with, uh, if you’re studying history, you don’t do World War II and then back up and do World War I.
Speaker 4: No, that’s true. You
Speaker: know? So I like, I don’t know that I could do that. That would be that, that I’m like, I’m getting the shakes just thinking about it.
Speaker 2: It’s okay. It’s not you listening to it. Yeah, it’s all right. It’s all right. Like I
Speaker: could see listening to the most current episode, stay in the present day and then go back and work chronologically.
Speaker 2: Listen, Andrew is [00:03:00] listening to us. That’s all that matters.
Speaker: You’re doing it wrong, Andrew.
Speaker 2: But you won’t hear this for
Speaker: like another six months.
Speaker 2: No. ’cause he listens to the current and then he goes backwards.
Speaker: Oh, whoops. Well, he probably won’t now.
Speaker 2: He’s like, I am done with you. Yeah. He’s like, oh, I’m done.
Speaker: I liked it when he was a dick to other people, but I didn’t
Speaker 2: know he was gonna be a dick to me.
Especially now is not so fun. It’s like politics. Well, let’s see. Let’s see if this, this message draws out anybody who has more than 12,000 in three minutes. Yes. On Spotify or as close or, yeah. Yeah. I’m honestly just curious. Hey,
Speaker: prog, don’t let progress be the enemy of perfection or something like that.
Speaker 2: You know, Robin said that just the other day. Yeah. On the Turkey burn ride.
Speaker: See?
Speaker 2: Yeah. You and Robin.
Speaker: Yeah. Like this. Because I was listening.
Speaker 2: I know, right?
Speaker: I was next to you. You
Speaker 2: actually were listening that day. I had
Speaker: headphones on.
Speaker 2: Oh no you didn’t. You were listening because, ’cause we thought there was gonna be a big [00:04:00] surprise.
And then there was.
Speaker: And then there was. So we, you had to be ready at the ready. And I was speaking of at the ready.
Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker: What do you got for people this week?
Speaker 2: Well, Peloton is shaking things up. They’ve got three brand new instructors, got a handful of schedule updates, major changes to the PSL lineup and a new club Peloton perk that offers early access to classes and lots of people complaining on the What
Speaker: if you’re Australian,
Speaker 2: we’ll get there.
Okay. On the corporate side, Peloton has parted ways with Chief Marketing Partnership director while the CTO continues discussing chat, GPT integrations. And now the company is hiring a senior director of digital innovation and enterprise ai. Whew. That’s a lot I know. And Oh, we’re not done. No, no. On in, in instructor news, Johanna made a surprise semi appearance in K fe’s running class and caused a little kerfluffle.
Speaker: I’m laughing because we haven’t got the other stories. People were probably like. Who the hell is, who the hell is Johanna? I know. Am I listening to an
Speaker 2: [00:05:00] Echelon podcast? What is happening? Don’t worry. We got you. We’ll get there. Uh, Jess Sims had, now you know
Speaker: how Andrew feels.
Speaker 2: Jess Sims had a live TV not suitable for work moment.
Dennis Morton has provided Hair Gate 2.0. Cliff Dweller dropped a new song and again, more drama. DJ John Michael celebrated 10 years and debuted a new remix. We’ve also got new content. The Michael Bule Artist series, the Release of Wicked for Good. Stranger Things Meet Your Yoga Instructors Challenge, holiday Challenge, and a very, very popular class has been purged.
Not to mention none, but used to be Peloton instructor, Kristen McGee has launched her first tonal program. We’ve got the TCO top five, and we’ve got that this week at Peloton.
Speaker: Ooh, that’s a whole bunch of stuff. Whew. Better get
Speaker 2: in it.
Speaker: So before we get to all that shameless plugs, don’t forget we’re available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, iHeart.
Tune in wherever you find a podcast. You can find us. While you are there, be sure and follow us. You never missed an [00:06:00] episode. Maybe leave us a review. Maybe listen to 12,000 minutes. Not maybe. Definitely. You should. Yes,
Speaker 5: you should. I mean, we’ll make fun of you, but you should. Yeah.
Speaker: But we’ll secretly be very happy.
Speaker 5: Absolutely. And by secretly
Speaker: yes. Not so secretly. No. You can also find us on Facebook, facebook.com/the clip out. While you’re there, like the page, join the group. Of course. If 12,000 minutes aren’t enough for you, right. There is a Patreon.
Speaker 2: That’s true,
Speaker: Andrew.
Speaker 2: That’s true. You know, you know he could be listening to the Patreon.
Oh. That’s like, we don’t know.
Speaker: That’s true. Well, it wouldn’t show up at, no. Would it show up at Spotify? Yeah, I think it
Speaker 2: does. I have the little connector thing. Okay.
Speaker: That’s fair. Okay. Well patreon.com/the clip out, five bucks a month you support a little indie podcast we’re doing out of our basement. And you also get ad free episodes.
You get all sorts of bonus content and you get early episodes this week.
Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Over
Speaker: on the Patreon. Yes. Do
Speaker 2: tell [00:07:00]
Speaker: the age windows for exercise when they have the most impact. Oh, we’ll get into that. Okay. Okay. We’re gonna talk about why earbuds are disgusting.
Speaker 2: Yes.
Speaker: Binge eating kills a fitness influencer.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker: And a new study reveals tragic. Tragic news for Crystal.
Speaker 5: Oh dear.
Speaker: Tragic.
Speaker 5: Okay,
Speaker: so all of that is over on the bonus.
Speaker 5: I wonder what’s so tragic.
Speaker: Oh, it’s tragic.
Speaker 5: Oh no.
Speaker: And Uhhuh, you can find us on YouTube, youtube.com/clip out where you can launch all of these. I don’t know where came. Hey, we’ll try
Speaker 2: to have the, uh, music right this week too.
Yeah. You’ll know by now. Yeah. That we did or we didn’t. For sure. Sorry about last week, guys.
Speaker: And then of course, uh, you can sign up for the newsletter@theclubbot.com. We will send you all the links and whatnot. So there’s all that. Let’s dig in, shall we?
Speaker 4: We shall
[00:08:00]
Speaker: Ooh.
Speaker 2: We haven’t been able to use that in forever. IC
Speaker: have we ever actually used it? I don’t know that we
Speaker 2: have. Yeah. I dunno. That we have, we had that made so long ago, so, so long ago We were ready.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker 2: And then they never hired our instructor,
Speaker: so it’s so good.
Let’s listen to it again.
Speaker: Okay. Alright. I mean, it’s been sitting there, just sitting, you had to blow the dust off of it. I did. Yeah. So it was just so we might as well get our money’s worth out of it. It cost us seven 50. So, uh, Peloton, a Thanksgiving day surprise. It was. And the Turkey burn, Peloton added, not one, not two, but three.
New instructors.
Speaker 2: It has been a long time since we’ve had a new instructor, like
Speaker: five or six years. Yeah. Not counting like guest instructors. Yeah, guest
Speaker 2: instructors are different, but, sorry,
Speaker: guy from Australia. Yeah. Tim. Tim. Jason Robards.
Speaker 2: Tim Robards. Okay. I almost called him Tim [00:09:00] Horton and said Jason Robards, we’ll get it.
Jason
Speaker: Horton.
Speaker 2: , I did get a little bit of a heads up that something big might be occurring, so I made sure to tune in. Which is funny because out of all the years that we’ve been doing this, it was the first year that I’ve ever been at home and actually got to take the class live. Actually live.
Speaker: Yeah. We’ve always either been like traveling mm-hmm. Or just sleeping.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Usually, usually we’re like at my somebody’s house or, or we’re at a hotel or something. Yeah. So I wasn’t able to listen or I wasn’t able to take it live. But, um, other than on the app, and, uh, so this was the first year that I’ve ever taken it, but um, and then
Speaker: you had to stop?
I did to put out a news story. I did. Yeah. But
Speaker 2: we, we had anticipated that we might need to do that, so we were ready. There were multiple phones recording. Yes. The tipster and the helper bees were all. Over it, but they were
Speaker: tipping and being,
Speaker 2: it was, [00:10:00] uh, it was pretty cool because, uh, as soon as the ride started and Robin started talking about seats at the table, I even called.
I was like, oh my God, I think it’s new instructors. Yeah. And, and it was
Speaker: Well, and we should also point out Yes. That you have been saying
Speaker 4: I have
Speaker: four months Thank
Speaker 4: you.
Speaker: Upon months.
Speaker 4: Yes. See,
Speaker: I do listen. You do, uh, at least while we’re recording that Cody was in England for so long, or as they like to call it The Uck.
The
Speaker 2: Uck, yeah. Yeah, that’s a thing. Um,
Speaker: because he was. Sourcing, training, vetting, whatever it is he actually does the new instructors. Yep. ’cause he’s the, the instructor guy.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. And, uh, I will say, I don’t know that we’re done yet because those, like, why did he need to be in the UK for these instructors?
You know, they’re all based out of America. They’re not a necess Well, one’s
Speaker: Canadian I know, but they’re, although that’s North America, they would, but they’re still
Speaker 2: gonna take the, they’re still gonna teach the classes in America. That’s why I’m saying that. So I wonder
Speaker: if, I wonder if [00:11:00] maybe they thought they would be less scrutinized over there.
Probably. And people wouldn’t get tipped off. We should also point out that, you were preemptively blocked by all of them.
Speaker 4: Yeah. I went to go tag them at the story and I couldn’t because I was blocked. Zach,
Speaker: you have since been unblocked. I
Speaker 4: have. I was like, what I do to Zach, I don’t even know who he’s, why am I blocked?
Why is he mad at me? Why? What did I do to Zacharia? But you have a
Speaker: long and rich history of revealing. New instructors before Peloton would like you to. It’s
Speaker 4: true.
Speaker: And so
Speaker 4: it’s true.
Speaker: So they, apparently it’s now company policy
Speaker 4: to block
Speaker: clip out Crystal. It’s the HR handbook in your introductory video where they’re like,
Speaker 5: welcome to Peloton.
Speaker: Don’t use racial slurs. Don’t grab people’s butts. Block clip out [00:12:00] Crystal
Speaker 5: until you’re announced,
Speaker: until your employment has been announced. There’s cake in the break room.
Speaker 2: Uh, it’s also interesting because the three new instructors they are all. Pilates slash yoga slash strength and none of them are bike, none of them are running and people are having very strong reactions to that by the way.
Hmm. I would’ve guess. I know, right? Strong reactions. What? Uh, Joanna is the first instructor we’re going to cover. She is 37. Okay. If you need to know her, she’s a Scorpio, if you need to know.
Speaker 6: Okay. Sure.
Speaker 2: Um, and her specialties are gonna be Pilates and yoga. She’s also known as Jungle Johanna, and if you follow her on Instagram, she’s got one of those group things that you can do.
And it’s called Welcome to the Jungle, which I appreciate. Okay. As a Guns N Roses fan.
Speaker 6: Right.
Speaker 2: And then you’ve got Greta Dopp. Now Greta is Pelotons first Canadian instructor. I cannot believe it’s the first Canadian instructor. And we’re [00:13:00] like this many years in. Yeah. So congratulations. Tag, Greta. That’s amazing.
Speaker: Good day. Eh?
Speaker 2: She, she is, uh, going to be focusing on Pilates and, uh, she is, I think also doing some strength work too. And then we’ve got Zacharias, Ned, Wiki. I don’t know, do you, so he does yoga, personal training, kettlebells and nutrition. Uh, he is the only male from the new instructors.
Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2: And, uh, he is com He has combined before Yoga and Kettlebells.
We’re here for it. Okay. We’re curious if this is coming to Peloton and what it’s gonna look like if it does. Because we’re curious.
Speaker: Sounds dangerous.
Speaker 2: Also, I have to say his partner is an Anoni Roski from Queer Eye. Now an Anthony did not have me blocked, so I was able to see an Anthony give Zacharia his congrats.
Speaker: Gotcha.
Speaker 2: [00:14:00] Uh, but uh, I just thought that was interesting.
Speaker: And he was featured prominently in a, uh, New York City marathon post from Mariana. Mariana.
Speaker 2: And I think Mariana is the one that told him to block me.
Speaker: Mm. So it’s not coming from hr?
Speaker 2: I think it’s Mariana. Okay. And ’cause he’s also friends with Maddie, so either of them could have
Speaker: been like, watch out for this one.
I know, right? Yeah.
Speaker 2: Right. They’ve all got premiers coming up this week. We’ve got. Johanna on the fifth. We’ve got Zacharias on the fourth, and we have Greta on the sixth. So all of them will have live classes. We’ve got power flow, yoga plus Pilates and sculpt flow. So there’s new class types. And of course, Peloton.
We’re already mad. Get on it with the filters. We need filters for these people.
Speaker: We have to have classes first. Right now it’d be like nothing.
Speaker 2: Well, they have ’em all at the top, but my theory is so you know who the hell they are. Right? Like you can find them. Yeah. So anyway, welcome to the family. We are so excited to finally use our sweeper that we paid [00:15:00] for many years ago.
Speaker: Many, many years ago. Many years ago, but, but it was pre tariff, so it really, it worked out to our advantage. That’s true. Yeah, that’s
Speaker 4: true.
Speaker: Moving along to the more mundane stories. That’s a way to keep people listening.
Speaker 5: Even Andrew’s like, well,
Speaker: 12,012 minutes. That’s, that’ll do it. That’s probably enough. I think I got the gist. She knows things. He makes dick jokes. I get it.
I get it. Okay. Major changes to the PSL schedule and people are losing their ever loving shit.
Speaker 2: They are. And first of all, I just have to say how strange it was to announce this over Thanksgiving.
Speaker: I will also say people losing the, their ever loving shit. Mm-hmm. It’s gonna be a theme this week. Oh
Speaker 2: yeah.
Yeah. Get buckle up. We’ve got more so
Speaker: than usual. Yeah,
Speaker 2: it is. There’s a lot of rage this week. Yeah. Um, so, I will say this particular announcement was quite confusing to me. I’m not [00:16:00] gonna lie. Yeah. I had lots of questions. So here’s what we have. Four PSL. This does not affect New York. I feel like I need to stress that.
Speaker: Scream that from the mountaintops.
Speaker 2: Alright. On Sundays going forward for every Sunday that you schedule from here on out. There are no more live instructor led classes. Sundays are now going to be dedicated time for members to gather, share the space, and build connections with one another.
Speaker: I feel like that description is part of Pelotons new chat.
GPT Integration.
Hey, we’re not going to, okay. Dear Chat. GPT. We’re not gonna teach classes on Sundays anymore. We will let people lie down in the lobby. Make that, make that sound
Speaker 5: good.
Speaker: Good. Go.
Speaker 2: So on that note, no [00:17:00] live classes, you gotta remember that part. But you can take on demand classes that already you’ve taken at home, how kind of them mat based classes.
Now you can book these for free. Mm-hmm. And they’re going to be on the big screen in the foyer. At PSL.
Speaker 6: Okay.
Speaker 2: Now we have already seen these classes appear on the schedule and uh, they appear as a stack. So like in this case, this week it was like Pilates and something else. And you still have to book ’em.
Apparently, even though they’re free, you still have to like mark your presence.
Speaker: Okay. They need to know you’re gonna be there. Absolutely. Yeah.
Speaker 2: You will have refreshments available, not given to you, available from the cafe because
Speaker: they’re like just a block from a Starbucks and don’t get the hot cocoa.
’cause it’s trash. It is
Speaker 2: trash. Uh, it was just water. Apparently
Speaker: it was just brown water.
Speaker 2: Members can also shop for Peloton apparel. What, why
Speaker 4: are
Speaker 2: you guys saying this?
Speaker: Come? Because come on chat. [00:18:00] GPT wrote this.
Speaker 2: Live classes, live classes will still be happening Mondays and Tuesdays and member bookings will be available on Fridays and Saturdays.
So. So basically you get two days a week in London mm-hmm. With instructors that you can take classes in person, you get four days a week at home that you will be able to see people in the classroom or the classroom. Makes it sound like, yeah, you’re in second grade, but you know what I mean?
Speaker: Got one of those big giant pencils.
Speaker 2: People are so upset about this. And the big question is why now my theory, and I’ve seen other people float this theory too. I’m not alone in this. Okay. My theory is it’s because Ben and Leanne are having a baby.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 2: There are two instructors that teach a lot of Sundays.
Speaker 6: Right.
Speaker 2: And the thing is, is that they’re gonna be parents and there’s gonna be a significant amount of time that they’re not gonna probably be teaching on weekends at all.
Speaker 6: Right.
Speaker 2: And, uh, you know, I think that Peloton is trying to spin this, but that’s [00:19:00] what I think. Now there are also people that say this is a cost cutting measure. And I say. That’s just dumb. Because the thing is, is it the studio is still open, right? There still has to be staff there.
They still have to make sure you’re safe and you’re, you know, secure and all those good things. So, right. It doesn’t really save that much money. You might save some salary from the people that do all the stuff in the back, uh, you know, the behind the scenes production and all those things. Right. And of course, the instructors, but they’re still paying those people.
Yeah. So I’m not really sure that this is, I don’t see how this could be a cost savings measure. I think this is a, the instructors don’t wanna work on Sunday’s measure. Yeah. That’s what I think. And I, I’m a little worried about what happens if the Peloton, New York instructors decide that because people, you think people lost their minds about London.
Yeah. I’ll also say people who live. Around, like in the UK they say that getting into London the day on a Sunday through travel is like a nightmare. Yeah.
Speaker 7: Like
Speaker 2: if you’re already there, no big deal. But like if you [00:20:00] are on the outskirts and you want to go to a Sunday class, it’s a nightmare on a Sunday. Yeah.
So that probably has a bearing as well.
Speaker: Gail Fine, longtime listener. Mm-hmm. Uh. Pointed out that when she’s been to London classes, it’s been almost all American. So I also think that maybe going to the studio just isn’t a priority for, uh, locals, for UK people and the way it is for us people.
I,
Speaker 2: I think it’s just a different use case on a Sunday. Yeah. I think it’s a lot easier for people to do, uh, a live class on a Sunday in New York. So I don’t see it affecting the New York people at all. I don’t
Speaker: think so either.
Speaker 2: Um, but I do think that Peloton continues to lean into what they think people want.
And if they’re hearing, if they’re seeing through the numbers that the local people aren’t coming and they’re only seeing people who are traveling there I can understand why they would make this choice.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 2: So either way, they, they did it based on data, and either way it’s nothing that [00:21:00] we can affect.
It’s just happening.
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker 2: So people are mad. Go figure,
Speaker: deal.
We have a new perk for club Peloton. Legend status people and
Speaker 3: people are losing their minds
Speaker: and people are losing their ever loving shit.
Speaker 2: Okay, so here’s, here’s how it works. You don’t get an email, you’re not notified. Everybody seems to think there’s an email. There isn’t, there’s no freaking email people.
If you are a legend status update your app and in theory you would go to the schedule and you would see on Tuesday, December 9th, a little icon that says Unlocked. And at noon eastern, you would then see a Robin Arza class 30 minute pop ride. And uh, it would say you unlocked a Peloton, a club Peloton live class.
Get early access as a legend member. Alright, so. Problems one. People who are legends [00:22:00] are, have all kinds, reported, all kinds of issues. Yeah. There are people who. Our legends who see the class, but it doesn’t say anything is different about it.
Speaker: Nothing to denote that it’s special.
Speaker 2: None.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker 2: You have people who are legends that can’t see it, most of which just need to update their app, but there are people that cannot see it even after they’ve updated their app.
Speaker 6: Gotcha.
Speaker 2: Then you have the people who are upset that it’s Robin teaching this class, and to them I say. Calm down. Right. They announced that this was gonna happen when they announced Club Peloton and it’s the first of many classes. Right. Why do you care who’s teaching it? Yeah. Like if you don’t wanna take it, don’t take it.
Right. I don’t care. But it’s
Speaker: like they can’t pick everyone’s favorite instructor simultaneously Exactly. For the first class.
Speaker 2: Exactly. And although people like to hate on Robin, she’s got quite the following. Um, so, which
Speaker: is probably why they selected her. Absolutely. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Also, she’s the director of the vice president of content.
She has a lot to say with that too. So people think that she gets a lot of favoritism. Maybe she doesn’t. I don’t. Senior. [00:23:00] Yeah, exactly. Alright that’s the other big thing. Then you have another complaint and that is how dare you put a class that is exclusive at noon on a Tuesday? I work.
That’s a big one. That is a really big one. People are really mad about this. Now let me be clear from everything we can tell after the class goes live this, that day, like it will eventually be on demand. We don’t actually know that we’re assuming because it says early access. Why else would it say early access, not
Speaker: exclusive
Speaker 2: access.
Exactly. Yeah. But people hear what they want to hear. Right? And they read not great. Yeah. When they’re mad. So there’s a lot of that happening as well. And from what I can tell based on only how they are. Putting this out there. Mm-hmm. Advertising it, if you will. There’s nothing about it that seems special.
It’s 30 minute pop ride.
Speaker: They just grabbed a class. Yeah. And said early access.
Speaker 2: So why do you even care? Yeah. Like if nothing special is happening, why does it even matter? Yeah. And maybe there is something special [00:24:00] happening. I don’t know. I am not a legend and I am a little You are to
Speaker: me.
Speaker 2: Thank you.
I appreciate that. I am a little bitter about it, but it’s only because I feel like out of all the time I spent running outside or taking tonal classes, I didn’t get counted for this.
Yeah. And uh, it just feels a little unfair for people who didn’t do those activities. Like I was still just as active. Right. You know? But anyway, regardless, I can’t see the classes, so I can’t tell you exactly how it’s gonna go down. But we will have the tipsters all over it. We’ve got tipsters, we’ve got helper bees.
They will be in the class. We will find out what’s gonna happen.
Speaker: We’ll get the scoop.
Speaker 2: Yeah. So the big takeaways here are it appears to be going on demand later doesn’t appear to be anything special. And number three, most importantly, it’s not the only one. Yeah. So like, if you can’t take this class, don’t feel like you can never take one of these classes.
Speaker: There will be more.
Speaker 2: Yes. Did I miss anything?
Speaker: I don’t think so.
Pelotons Chief. Marketing [00:25:00] partnership director has been let go.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Which I am surprised that there is a chief marketing director, or I’m sorry, partnership marketing director. I just didn’t know. Yeah. You know, that that was a thing.
And uh, so that kind of surprised me.
Speaker: Although they do so many partnerships. Well, that’s the theme. It seems like this would be a fairly important role. So you gotta wonder, are they just rolling these duties into someone else’s? Because I don’t think they’re gonna stop doing marketing partnerships.
Speaker 2: No, no, I totally agree with that.
But the big question that we had as, as helper bees and tipster was the partnerships appear to have been incredibly successful. So what does it take to Right. Retain your job? Like what is the metric? Yeah, that’s fair. Because like, I, I’m not saying every single partnership they’ve done has been extremely successful, but many have.
Yeah. And so, so it’s just weird. At any rate this person has been let go and, um, [00:26:00] Malika.
Speaker: Peria. Yes. I think I’m saying I’m apologize if I’m not getting that quite right.
Speaker 2: Yeah. And she, she has nothing but good things to say and specifically she talks, well,
Speaker: she’s in marketing. She knows better.
Speaker 2: Well, that’s true, but I still appreciate somebody that leaves it with pride.
Sure. And dignity. Absolutely. And not throwing stones, Kendall. And, uh, she talked about how great it was to work at Peloton. She also talked about how they unlocked, I mean, it’s smart ’cause this is basically a resume. Good for you girl.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 2: They launched the Peloton Hyatt, they did the Peloton spaces at ut.
They had treads in Lululemon stores. They developed custom programs with the NBA and WNBA ambassadors, and they elevated the New York City Marathon into tent pole moment. I say all of that because it’s not like she was involved in things that weren’t successful. Right. Every single one of those was very successful.
Speaker: But given what her. Showing my age here, Rolodex must look like.
Speaker 2: Yeah, you’re showing your age. I
Speaker: think she can land on her feet.
Speaker 2: I think she’ll be just fine. Yeah, [00:27:00] I think she’ll be just fine. It’s also just kind of interesting. They’re still letting people go. Yeah. Like, like they’re not talking about that.
You’re not seeing it. You know, and I think that’s interesting as well. So all of that just to say, Hmm. Interesting.
Speaker: It’s also hard not to wonder if this next story somehow plays a role. Pelotons chief technology officer was discussing their chat, GPT integration and. Especially with the story that comes after this story.
Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah. They’re, they seem related.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker 2: So Francis Shanahan shared that Pelotons chat, GPT integration emerged from member behavior. One, uh, this, they said that people were already using it to download their data and put into ai, but two this was also discovered during a hackathon. And that’s interesting because they, somebody came up with an idea mm-hmm.
And then they ran with it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker 2: And they also, the
Speaker: whole purpose of their hackathon, that
Speaker 2: is the purpose of their hackathon. They also did some [00:28:00] early experi experiments to shape their AI driven future. The company realized, Peloton realized that existing platforms did not give them a clear way to interpret or act on their metrics.
I would say Peloton, that’s kind of on you guys, but what else? And then, uh, they. Are working on this emerging interface capabilities. But the reason I, I mentioned that is it says to me they’re not done. Yeah. Like they’re not done working on this, this integration. So I think there’s more to come with this and, uh, it’s also a very low risk technically, which I also thought was interesting as well.
Speaker: Another sweeper. We don’t get to hear all that frequently. That’s true. Especially as of late.
Speaker 2: They have been hiring. We just haven’t bothered to say every single job that gets, you know, that they’re hiring for. I
Speaker: should have had, I should have had a now firing sweeper made. So, uh, Peloton is hiring a senior director of digital innovation and [00:29:00] enterprise al
Speaker 2: ai.
Speaker: Oh, that makes more sense.
Speaker 2: And what that means in real terms, human terms, is that you’re gonna be a leader responsible for divine defining driving and governing. Pelotons, enterprise wide AI and digital innovation strategy. So that’s gonna have obviously visionary leadership, but also, uh, you’re gonna be identifying and executing on opportunities that optimize internal operations.
Most importantly, enhance our iconic member experi experience and accelerate business growth. That’s fascinating.
Speaker: Yeah, it’s hard not to think that they freed up the money for this position. I mean,
Speaker 2: maybe
Speaker: getting rid of the one we just talked about. It’s all
Speaker 2: fungible, so I don’t know. It’s, I don’t know. So
Speaker: it’s difficult to say, but it def definitely is fascinating.
And, uh, an indicative of how much they’re leaning into ai.
Speaker 2: That is true, and I will say you’re not the only [00:30:00] person that thinks that they are, you know, connected. A lot of people are drawing conclusions about this, which is why we are talking about it. And uh, just based on the company that I work with and how we’re kind of helping companies start up with their ai, I think it’s interesting because com pelotons already using ai, but one of the things that kind of gets lost in the shuffle here is also how the company in general uses ai.
There are lots of rules and regulations around that. More so whenever you’re a publicly traded company, right? So you have to be really careful about how you use things and the information that’s put out there. I mean, you guys, Peloton has accidentally leaked so many things and, and I know that they like to blame us whenever we find out things ahead of time, but a lot of times they weren’t well protected, let’s just say.
Yeah. And I find it interesting because you can put so much information inside. Chat GPT that is proprietary. Mm-hmm. And that kind of stuff can get leaked, if not careful. Yeah. So, I’m sure that, I would like [00:31:00] to think, I’m not sure, I would like to think that they’ve put gates around that to ensure, I will also say, according to what I have learned about a AI security, you’re kind of screwed either way.
AI doesn’t, good luck to
Speaker: us all. Good luck getting AI to honor the gates.
Speaker 2: Exactly. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker: Coming up after this, we’ve got instructors in the news. We already have one of our new instructors making the news. She’s causing some,
Speaker 2: she’s stirring.
Speaker 5: She’s stirring. Yeah.
Speaker: Uh, Jess Sims has a awkward moment on live television.
Dennis Morton in his hair, all that’s coming up next. So stick around.
Speaker: one of the newest instructors, Johanna Reuse. I hope I’m saying that properly, but it’s not like we’ve never pronounced something wrong before. Like the name of the company. She’s Pelotons newest yoga instructor or one of them.
And she took a Kirsten Ferguson run class. Do, do, do kinda, [00:32:00]
Speaker 2: yeah. So I, I did not take the class. I am going by what I see on the OPP, which we all know. Is very dangerous.
Speaker: It’s always correct, 100% accurate and calm and reasonable.
Speaker 2: Always calm and reasonable. But, uh, somebody did post on the OPP that they thought that Johanna’s behavior during, as they call it K Forgs live run that morning was interesting.
Uh, and then whenever people were like, what was so interesting about it she was on her phone texting and she was doing different stretches than what Kirsten was queuing. And it kind of just gave people a bad vibe.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Now I was willing to be like, well, who knows? I mean, why, I don’t know why she didn’t take a walk class.
Like maybe, maybe Peloton took her. She had told her she had to take this class. Yeah. I had no idea.
Speaker: It’s just the one that fit her schedule.
Speaker 2: Could be, but. I don’t know. She had zero apologies, like zero, none. She, [00:33:00] she posted on her Instagram a picture of her walking. She goes, when you take the newest run class, because uh, the only thing you run is your mouth.
And I was like. Okay, well that’s either delightful or horrible. I don’t know which yet. Yeah, time will tell,
Speaker: but it’ll be fun to watch.
Speaker 2: It will be fun to watch. Uh, so far people are a little worried. We got some
Speaker 4: diva energy.
Speaker 2: We’re a little like, okay, did we just hire another Kendall? Uh, maybe a little Jennifer Jacobs in there.
I don’t know. Yeah. I don’t know. Or maybe she’s just sassy. Yeah. And we’re all gonna love it. It could be I’m open. Yeah, I’m open. I’m not making any judgements here, but, uh, I Because it’s
Speaker: also self-deprecating.
Speaker 2: It is, yeah. And the thing is, is the instructors will tell you if you don’t, if you’re not up to running, don’t run.
Like make it your own class. Yeah. Most instructors will tell you that. And
Speaker: is the moments they’ve had with some past instructors, you would think that would be one of the first things [00:34:00] Cody would be vetting for?
Speaker 2: You would think. You would think
Speaker: so. I would hope I, I tend to think it’s the other it’s the more.
Gracious interpretation Yes. Is my Yes. And it’s not just
Speaker 2: him that gets to decide for, it’s, it’s a whole group of people. Yeah. So, so yeah. I, I, yeah. Let’s, we’re just gonna leave it at that. We’re gonna be a But it was, it was still
Speaker: fun to watch. It
Speaker 2: was. Yeah. Yeah. I hope she’s got more sass. ’cause I, right now I’m here for it.
As long as it’s funny I’m watching Yeah.
Speaker: And not directed at us. Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. Don’t be mean to us, please. Jess Sims had a, uh, not safe for work moment on live television.
Speaker 2: Yeah. She was talking about how cold it was in Michigan, and, uh, she said, well, I’m glad it feels good there because it’s cold as shit in the stadium.
And people were not amused. Like, I have no idea why SHIT caused this much of a stir
Speaker: of all the cuss words of the famous [00:35:00] George Carlin seven dirty words. I always,
Speaker 2: that one’s just so, like, it’s right up there with hell to me. Yeah. Like it’s just, it’s just another word,
Speaker: you know? Yeah. I just like, I’ve never understood why that one of all, if you’re gonna give us any of them back, that’s the one.
Yeah. I think
Speaker 2: I thought it was, it was very funny and relatable, but you know, people
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker 2: So, so lots of people were upset about it and gave her a lot of ha shit. Yeah.
Speaker: But, uh, but technically it’s on ESPN, which is cable, which isn’t governed by FCC regulations. Oh. So, they, those basic cable channels, they tend to follow the same rules.
Mm-hmm. Just because that’s kind of what people expect, but they are not legally obligated in the same way that a traditional terrestrial broadcast network is. Legally obligated.
Speaker 2: Fascinating.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker 2: That’s fascinating. So either way she was fine, but like, I guess ’cause [00:36:00] people watch sports with their children, something I cannot relate to whatsoever,
Speaker: sports or children.
Speaker 2: Uh, they are like really upset that she said the S word, but like. You can say shit in a PG movie. I’m just telling you what people said and I’m not, and so it’s
Speaker: like, I mean, yeah, I just, Marvel movies just dropped their first F-bomb not that long ago. That’s true. So it’s like, this is to me is just Nen Burger.
Speaker 2: It is. It’s, yeah. Like it’s, and honestly, out of all the things that we talk about, people getting upset about this week, honestly, this one just flew right by. Yeah. This was no big deal. In fact, her group was kind of like making fun of it. Right. Like they, nobody was upset in the Peloton world that I saw.
This was all just getting, getting a laugh out of how upset other people that, yeah. But, um, yeah, this was, as you said, this was a nothing burger. It flew right by. There’s plenty more outrage though. Yes. Don’t worry. Oh
Speaker: yeah. We, we will have more people losing their shit. As we transition from [00:37:00] people losing their shit over something that’s not that big of a deal to people losing their shit over something, that’s ultimately none of their business.
Yes.
Speaker 2: So longtime listeners and Pelotons will remember Hair Gate 1.0. Dennis Morton had gorgeous long hair. He had been growing out
Speaker: long, luxurious locks.
Speaker 2: They were gorgeous.
Speaker: A mane, if you will. It
Speaker 2: was a mane and he would often shake it out, causing women to lose their minds in a different way.
Speaker: They’ve lost their shit in a very different way.
Very
Speaker 2: different way. Uh, and then one day he just cut it all off and people went nuts. I mean, it was the highlight of the week for days. Like that’s all anyone talked about. Yeah. Dennis and his hair. Now, people who are fairly new to the platform, you’ve never seen Dennis with long hair, so you have no idea what I’m talking about.
Yeah, but it was a shock. It was a shock. And that is how it got nicknamed Hair Gate. Okay. Well, believe it or not, he has [00:38:00] caused Hair Gate 2.0. He has a new style where it’s kind of like slicked back in some of his recent classes.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 2: And people are saying that it is not the most attractive Look, people are saying a lot of very negative things.
They are comparing him to people who have appeared on television and did not look their best. Like they’re just being really mean. Yeah. Is what I’m trying to say. And, uh, you know, privately when I have spoken about it, I have been one of those people, but like. I haven’t taken his classes and I’m like shaming him or sending him messages.
Yeah. It’s just my opinion. I find it interesting that his hair causes this much uproar. I
Speaker: know, right?
Speaker 2: Like, who cares? Yeah.
Speaker: That’s why I don’t change my hair, that’s why. Yeah. That’s that’s good. Good. And I just got the three of them.
Speaker 2: I think there’s four or five, so that is Harrogate 2.0. Lots of people upset about that one.
Speaker: Yeah. [00:39:00] It’s like I bet he’s
Speaker 2: getting a whole in. I bet. I bet he is. Like really not liking his messages right now because I know how people are. Yeah. And they’re rude.
Speaker: Yeah. And I was just like, ultimately like it’s his head man.
Speaker 2: Yeah. If he’s happy with it. Yeah. What does it matter to you?
Speaker: Yeah. So, uh, next item up on the outrage machine, cliff Wanger.
Has a new song out.
Speaker 2: First, I wanna say Cliff is still officially in the running for the voice, and I think he’s made it to the semi-finals. Like Oh, right. He’s pretty darn far.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Uh, and, uh, the voice
Speaker: Germany.
Speaker 2: The voice Germany, what did I say?
Speaker: You just said the voice. Oh, I was just letting people know it’s not the American version.
That’s, they’re like, that’s if they go looking for it
Speaker 2: and he’s an all star. This is the second appearance he’s made. So he’s an all star. Right. And, um, as part of this journey, he has put a new song out and, uh, he’s incredibly talented. It is a very catchy song. However, it is also causing outrage. Yes.
Because Cliff has been known to have, uh, gospel Sunday [00:40:00] classes. Right. Which people love. And in this song that he wrote, apparently, that’s my understanding. Okay. If I am wrong, I apologize. It’s just my understanding. Yeah. And it is called God damn.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Now, some people take that to mean a very negative context towards.
They’re almighty.
Speaker: Understandable.
Speaker 2: It is. But in the context of the song, like he’s
Speaker: trying to be cheeky about it. Yeah. And like, because it’s like, God damn, I’m blessed or something. But it’s like, so he’s like trying to,
Speaker 2: trying to, trying to walk both lines. Yeah.
Speaker: But it’s just like, but when that’s the title of the song and that’s what people are seeing and like, he’s so associated with, with his gospel riots, like a lot of people that take that stuff very seriously and in interest of full disclosure, I’m not one of them, but but like, they’re not cool with that.
They’re not, and like, and like I, I get that.
Speaker 2: To me it’s a it’s another one that’s like completely not important, but, but the subject isn’t [00:41:00] important either. Like, I also am not the person taking the gospel classes. Right. You know, like that is not of interest to me. Yeah. I don’t enjoy it. I hear it in my brain.
Starts to like, get. Weird. And I’m like, stop it. And it’s just, I have a very strong reaction to the whole, the just, it’s not
Speaker: your
Speaker 6: jam.
Speaker 2: Not my jam. Yeah. Yes. But, um, regardless, I just, I don’t know that, I mean, it, it’s still just music at the end of the day. And I wonder how many of these people are not upset when we have artists on the platform who have been accused or convicted of, let’s say, heinous crimes like rape.
Yeah. You know? Yeah. And I just feel like you kind of can’t have it both ways. Well, but I
Speaker: plain devil devil’s advocate.
Speaker 2: Oh,
Speaker: pun intended. I mean, but like he has associated his brand with that, and it’s like it, you know, it’s,
Speaker 2: yeah. It’s a song. He, I mean, it’s a class type. He teaches, I, I think that he considers himself [00:42:00] a godly person, but that is different for each person.
Like, yeah. Even within Christianity, there are so many different ways that. That can show up for people. It’s not all the same.
Speaker: Yeah. But like, look, I have, I’m sure it’s not hard to suss out a filthy mouth, really. And I, I cuss frequently and, uh, more frequently than this show would lead you to believe and it leads you to believe it, that it’s true.
But like, it, you know, from a lot of people that’s blasphemy. That’s like, it is, that’s right there in the list of the 10 things you’re not supposed to do. And if you’re, and then to put it in a song, like he didn’t just say it in passing he built and the title. Yeah. Like it’s, and yeah, like I get it.
Like I, I’m not saying that like he should be run outta town on a rail or anything, but like, I get why people are upset about it. Like I. It’s that, that one isn’t crazy to me, even if personally I’m like whatevs.
Speaker 2: Well, it’s just personally whatevs [00:43:00] to me. Yeah. But I hope that he doesn’t have like any long-term fallout from this.
Yeah. That’s my bigger thing for sure. Because, because German is, I don’t think that was his
Speaker: intent. Like I said, I don’t either said, I think he was trying to be cheeky and I think it, for a lot of people fell very flat.
Speaker 2: Well, and I also think that the German instructors just don’t get enough, don’t get nearly as much coverage as the American instructors.
Yeah. Or even the, the instructors that are UK based. Yeah. I mean, I know they’re all in the uk, but Well, they should
Speaker: fix that.
Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. That’s what I worry about. That’s what I worry about. Yeah.
Speaker: Dj John Michael is celebrating 10 years with Peloton and people are Outra. Oh, sorry. Oh wait. We’re done with the outrage for a bit for force of habit.
Don’t worry. Dj John Michael. People are not outraged and I’m sure you’re listening.
Speaker 2: Yeah, right. Um, but he is celebrating 10 years of DJ classes, like dj. Well, they rides really, because they didn’t have runs back then. Yeah. But, uh, that’s really fun. And he debuted a new [00:44:00] remix in my Matt Wilber’s class recently
Speaker: because he’s like, somebody’s gotta do something about this music.
Yeah. Over here, Wilber’s. I’m stepping in. Sorry. Poor Wilber’s. I’m just, we’re gonna have a come to Jesus pun intended about your music because God, God damn, God damn is bad.
Speaker 2: Why do I feel like I’m gonna get yelled after that? Probably
Speaker: at this point, you know who we are.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker: The latest artist series features another one. I’m not familiar with Michael. Bubbly. I’m just getting so old.
Speaker 2: Well, I wanna back up though, because you kind of skipped over Wicked
Speaker: it. It’s literally the next thing on the list. Okay. Well
Speaker 2: it came first so it was bother me. Sorry. But, um, the interesting thing, part of the reason that we didn’t know exactly how to list this out is because the Michael Blue Blake classes mm-hmm.
Are [00:45:00] premiering on December 11th with the. Really weird exception of the one that already posted on December 1st. I don’t know why. Yeah. I can’t explain it to you. I think somebody accidentally typed in a one and they meant to type in a one two. So, so there you go.
Speaker: You’re a legend now and you have early access unless you’re Australian.
It’s ’cause of the time zones.
Speaker 2: Australians have the same access. ‘
Speaker: cause they had that other club Peloton per, they didn’t get
Speaker 2: Well it’s be somebody messaged me actually, and they told me the reason they don’t get a discount on their clothes is because they don’t have any clothes. There’s no merch in from Peloton there.
Interesting. And it was actually Canada that only got the 20%, ah, not the 25%. So. Chaos.
Speaker: Chaos. But if we were in Germany, I would make your bunk. So, uh, we also have Wicked for Good Live classes.
Speaker 2: We do, uh, obviously they had the big one with, uh, Cynthia Orio. Um, but these are specific [00:46:00] for Wicked For Good, and there will be several classes that have all music from.
Wicked for Good. I gotta say though, those are like the
Speaker: weakest songs from Wicked. Like
Speaker 2: why don’t you throw some in from the first one? Okay. Yeah. I hope that you did,
Speaker: hope you like Reprises. I
Speaker 2: know. I mean, yeah, I know a lot of people are just really excited about this movie, but this movie was just Okay.
Yeah. It wasn’t
Speaker: awful, but it was No, no, no. It was definitely not awful. And, and, and, uh, I’ve seen
Speaker 2: some awful movies. Yeah.
Speaker: But, uh, splitting it into movies, good business decision, not a good artistic decision.
Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker: And like, they really not for
Speaker 2: me, I, I, I really, I think that my mistake was not watching the first one right before we went.
Yeah. Because I think that the tone of the first balances out, the tone of the second. Mm-hmm. And I think not having that right before just really did not work for me. But, um, that’s just me.
Speaker: I also don’t know that I need a six hour version of Wicked.
Speaker 7: Yeah, that’s
Speaker 2: fair.
Speaker: Kristen McGee’s [00:47:00] first tonal program has debuted.
Speaker 2: I’m really excited about this. First of all it’s Kristen McGee and she’s on Tonal. Mm-hmm. Second of all, the tonal program is called Strong for Life, and it launches on Friday the fifth, but it is specifically designed for women in their forties, fifties, sixties, and beyond.
You’re focused on strength, balance, and confidence, and you’ve got intentional low impact movements, and you’re going to be lifting heavy and goddammit, that’s what we need. So I’m really, really excited about this and, uh, I, I am so thrilled. To see Kristen on the, the tonal platform and I have been using the Pilates classes and I’ve already taken several of them.
And, uh, you bought
Speaker: the new things.
Speaker 2: I bought the new loops and I love them. And uh, it really does feel like a reformer. And if you are wanting to buy a tonal two now you the, it’s almost done. By the time you hear this the $1,200 off will [00:48:00] be done, but it is $1,200 off right now. So I have a link.
Happy to give it to you. I get a little fee for having put you onto it, but if you don’t want to buy, I totally get that too. This is not a commercial. I just think it’s really smart of tonal how they’ve done this and I’m just really happy to see Kristen have such a great relationship with them.
And I’m just happy for how this has all gone for her. She’s done very well.
Speaker: Absolutely. I was a little disappointed with the Peloton loop things that showed up.
Speaker 2: You mean the Pilates loop on thermal? There
Speaker: you go. Sorry. The Pilates loops. Why
Speaker 2: were you disappointed?
Speaker: Well, I was just like, I, the box was laying on the counter and I was like, well, this is interesting.
What’s going on here? And you’re like, that’s for the Pilates thing. And I’m like, oh. Oh, I thought it was something dirty.
Speaker 2: That’s true. I could have left it on the counter since we have no children in the house.
Speaker: Yeah. Well Christmas is just around the corner.
Speaker 2: That’s true.
Speaker: Coming up after this, we’ve got all [00:49:00] sorts of content. We’re gonna give you the TCO top five and all other sorts of classes that, uh, you should be contemplating.
So stick around.
Speaker: It is time for the TCO top five. You told us your favorite classes. And so we will tell them to you too. Also. Number one, your favorite themed ride.
Speaker 2: This was sent in by a lot of people and it was a 30 minute Strangers Things Ride that was taught by Benny Adam.
I wanna mention this for a couple of different reasons. One, um, it does have subtitles now. So if you’re scared of taking a German class, ’cause you can’t, you know, hear what he’s saying.
Speaker: Sometimes stranger things is scary,
Speaker 2: but I took this class without subtitles and I enjoyed it. Regardless, the production that went into this, like [00:50:00] there are outfit changes, people, there are outfit changes.
Who does he
Speaker: think he is? Maddie Mamo.
Speaker 2: I loved this and I like Stranger things, but this like, this was just very, very fun. Uh, there are lighting effects, there are production effects, there are outfit changes. It is very cool. And Elizabeth, uh, she is the one that figured out that this was gonna happen. Yeah.
Like she, she called it days before and um, if not longer. Yeah. And uh, so she is going to get a, a Christmas card from Benny. Oh, Benny said that anybody who could guess it would get a Christmas card. Okay. So I think that’s really cool.
Speaker: Yeah. Uh, number two, your favorite program.
Speaker 2: Okay. So this is submitted by Dark Peloton.
So just for the record, they do take classes that are not Halloween themed. Good to know. We now know. Okay. For sure. Uh, they just finished this program there. It’s
Speaker: kind of pointless to only work out like. 30 days a year.
Speaker 2: Well, or take all the classes over and over again.
Speaker: Oh, okay. I guess you could do [00:51:00] that.
Speaker 2: They are feeling accomplished. Uh, there was a 30 minute endurance walk with Logan that was a standout for dark Peloton, and they almost missed it because the initial playlist skepticism, glad I gave it a shot and learned a valuable lesson. Don’t knock it till you try it. Uh, and it also includes 28 body weight strength and walking classes.
That’s awesome.
Speaker: Uh, number three, your favorite ride. It’s Robin Arza. She’s wearing mustard yellow. Does the mustard mitigate it in some capacity? No,
Speaker 2: it, it counts. It’s still, and it’s from her new collection part one of her new collection. Okay. So this was taught on October 23rd. Stephanie Lottos nominated it and said it was the type of classic upbeat music that elevates the vibe ride and reminds me of OG Robin classes that made me join the platform in January of 2020.
And this is the first ride, I don’t know how many years that actually got me close to my PR from 2021. And now I feel like it’s actually possible to beat it. That is, yeah. That is a big, that’s a big.
Speaker: Kudos. Yeah, [00:52:00] absolutely. And if, uh, you’re looking for Robin classes, but you just can’t hack the yellow.
Number four, your favorite holiday ride.
Speaker 2: Yes. It was the Turkey burn ride where there was over 33,000 people on it live. And lots of people nominated this one as well. Katherine Kimes loved it. Uh, it was also her birthday and she got a high five from Robin herself, which is not easy to do.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Cindy fix man, Jennies, uh, she noted this ride was challenging, but Robin didn’t wear yellow.
Uh, and Jody. Also loved it and said that she loved all of the Thanksgiving Day classes and looks forward to working out with the three new instructors who were introduced. It was really cool to have the new instructors introduced in the middle of the ride. Yeah. I didn’t take the last 10 minutes of the class because I was too busy doing,
Speaker: doing things, the news thing, telling people.
Speaker 2: But, um, I will say up until that point, that was a sweaty ass ride. Like I was working, I was working hard. It was a fun glass.
Speaker: And then finally, number five, it’s an unst stackable. And it’s a strength class.
Speaker 2: It is. This was, [00:53:00] um, taught back on September 15th of this year as a 30 minute Pilates power, um, with Rebecca Kennedy and Liz Nicole, who is one of our helper bees, said this class was definitely uns stackable.
And she said she takes Pilates one to two times a week, but had never tried a power class. This was a true full body workout with a squishy ball. Movements were much quicker. RK had pushups, bear planks, side teasers, rollovers. I was spent at the end and the ball absolutely increased the intensity in every move.
Hardest Pilates class to date. Definitely Unst, stackable. Whew,
Speaker: This week at Peloton, the first two we have, we either are, we talked about bule and then elevate your practices coming up.
Speaker 2: Let’s just move to the radar. It’s probably got everything.
Speaker: Oh, we’ve got. Evening mobility and a live 75 minute run with Suzy Chan.
Speaker 2: Okay.
Speaker: Taking a look at this week at Peloton, we have New Evening Mobility.
Speaker 2: We haven’t had a drop for this in a while, and I love these classes. Uh, they have [00:54:00] been taught by different instructors. This one is taught by Adrian and it’s a 10 minute evening mobility, and it’s going to be available on December 4th.
Speaker: And if you were a club Peloton legend, you can take it in the morning.
Speaker 2: This one’s available to everybody at the same time. It’s early
Speaker: access. You can take it in the, don’t take your mobility and the morning I
Speaker 2: can feel everybody getting mad.
Speaker: Cool. Well, that’s no way to get me to stop, right. You’re right. We also have a live 75 minute run with Susie Chan.
Speaker 2: Yes. I love these. It’s gonna be Saturday, December 6th at 9:00 AM Eastern.
Speaker: And then here are some classes we have on our radar that we think should be on yours. We have holiday C.
Speaker 2: Yeah, that’s, that’s the way they say season these days.
Speaker: Oh, is it? Yes. Oh, everybody’s gotta maximize characters. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay. It’s SZN. Yeah. I’m just not cool with what the kids are doing.
Speaker 2: It’s, you’re an old,
Speaker: I am an old.[00:55:00]
Very much so, and I’m kind of proud of it. Like if, if this is the only advantage to being young. Then I’m, I’m okay. I’m okay. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Well, we have lots of holiday classes coming up. There’s going to be a German holiday ride with Benny coming up on December 1st, and it was also his four year pillow bursary ride.
And it can you believe it’s his first holiday ride? Like, that’s surprising how four years? How did that happen? Yeah.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 2: There was also a 20 minute holiday ride with Ben on December 2nd. There was a walk plus run with Marcel m on December 3rd, A holiday walk with Olivia December 4th, a ride with Emma, December 5th, a hol a Broadway holiday walk with Maddie and a holiday run.
With Suzy and December 6th, a holiday ride with Eric, also in German.
Speaker: Jeffrey Rin has, uh, his annual World AIDS Day run on December 1st, or he had it.
Speaker 2: Yeah. And this was prerecorded a while back, but, uh, it’s always very special whenever it [00:56:00] actually gets to air. Uh, it’s the third year and, uh, it’s, this is an important year to really pay attention because a lot of things have changed about AIDS and how they go about funding research mm-hmm.
For it. So,
Speaker: in, in other words, the don’t Yeah.
Speaker 2: In America. In America. Uh, and so I know this is something super important to Jeffrey and, uh, I, I really appreciate that he does this every year
Speaker: John Hoskins will be in Manhattan.
Speaker 2: He will, he’s gonna be teaching on the tread, uh, December 4th, fifth, sixth and seventh.
Speaker: And we have Pelotons first English 60 minutes Pilates class. We think.
Speaker 2: It’s hard to tell because Pelotons been having some issues with how they do things lately, and it’s, the booking site indicates the class is an hour, but the class schedule shows that it’s only 20 minutes. So we’ll find out together.
Gotcha.
Speaker: It’s good to have surprises. It’s
Speaker 2: December 7th if you’re [00:57:00] wondering,
Speaker: Obviously we have. New yoga instructors mm-hmm. As have been mentioned multiple times, but we have a new Meet your instructor’s challenge for people.
Speaker 2: Yeah. And it’s notable for a few reasons. One, you have to take a class with each instructor and then you get a badge for that. But it’s also notable because it’s the first time Peloton has ever done a challenge like this.
Speaker 6: Okay.
Speaker 2: And I just find that interesting. Yeah. Also, for those of you that are trying to make sure that you get your legend status, you get 10 points for every challenge. And if you earn it, you get the 10 points. So, so like all you have to do is take these three classes and that’s, boom. 10 points
Speaker: this week.
Easy peasy. Easy
Speaker 2: peasy.
Speaker: Okay. Good. Good tip. I try. You’re a tipster now. We also have a new holiday challenge.
Speaker 2: We do. Yeah. Um, there, I think it’s like you have to take 18 classes to get gold. So it’s a lot, but you get your 10 points, even if you just get bronze. So don’t be an overachiever.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker 2: Get your bronze and move on.
I
Speaker: don’t think I was in any [00:58:00] danger of being an overachiever, but I appreciate the advice
Speaker 2: and I lied. It’s three for bronze, five for silver, 10 for gold, and uh, it has to be classes from the holiday collection. Yes. I know there are classes that were done in the past that are not in this collection. I don’t know why.
Yeah, I don’t know if Peloton for forgot ’em. I don’t know if it was on purpose. I can’t explain it to you, but the collection does cover 20 through 25. The 2025 obviously have not landed, but as long as it’s in the collection it counts.
Speaker: And finally, uh, Sam Yo’s Top Gun Ride. Is no more.
Speaker 2: It’s so sad. He had those video classes, like we talked about them.
We had a whole article about ’em. Yeah. And yeah, the Top Gun class has been pulled. It was from 2022. People are super sad and we’re hoping that enough people are going to take it to bring it back, and enough people are gonna complain to Peloton.
Speaker: It has happened before, although it, it has very rare.
Although it is very rare. It is very rare.
Speaker 2: Yeah. Gonna need a lot of support. Gonna need to send hit submit. Hit submit a lot.
[00:59:00]
