This Week at Peloton: 2 New Focus Flow for Runners & More
This week Peloton is rolling out brand new focus flow for runners classes. Yoga is an essential complement to a running routine helping to improve flexibility, build strength and prevent injuries.
Why You Should Take Focus Flow for Runners
- Improve Your Performance: These classes are designed to target the muscle groups runners use most. By increasing flexibility in your hamstrings, hips, and quads, you can improve your stride and overall running efficiency…hell yeah!
- Prevent Injuries: Running is a high-impact activity that can lead to tightness and imbalances. A consistent yoga practice helps release tension and strengthen stabilizing muscles reducing your risk of common running related injuries.
- Enhance Recovery: The flows focus on stretching and mindful movement, which aids in post-run recovery. This practice can help reduce muscle soreness and get you ready for your next run faster.

Facts and Benefits of Yoga for Runners
- Fact: Yoga improves proprioception, which is your body’s ability to sense its position in space. Benefit: Better proprioception leads to improved balance and stability on uneven terrain, making you a more confident and efficient runner.
- Fact: Many yoga poses involve isometric contractions, where you hold a position under tension. Benefit: This builds functional strength in your core, glutes, and legs, which translates directly to more power and endurance during your runs.
- Fact: The emphasis on diaphragmatic breathing in yoga increases lung capacity and oxygen efficiency. Benefit: Learning to control your breath helps you stay calm and maintain a steady pace, especially during long or challenging runs.
