This and That: Week of September 14
Hope you’re not too distracted with all the fun photos and footage from the ongoing Peloton Lululemon Members event at PSNY, Pelofans, because sliding right into your weekend is this week’s This and That. Sit back, relax, and enjoy five of the smaller, yet still noteworthy, stories from the Peloverse this week!
Alex’s Busy Week
It was a pretty good week to be Alex Toussaint – not that it’s ever really a bad week to be Alex Toussaint. To start, he featured his pal and popular DJ/producer Mustard in one of his rides this week. Surely this brought up the energy in Alex’s already heart-pumping workouts! Additionally, Alex took to Instagram to show that his cycling shoes, PWRSPIN by Puma, were featured in SneakerLaw’s coffee table book billed as “The Greatest Sneaker Book of All Time.” Alex always keeps the vibes positive, the energy high, and the smiles flowing and this week proved no exception! 👟
Mila’s Positive Affirmations
German cycling instructor Mila Lazar made a joyful and uplifting Instagram post this week reminding all of us to take a deep breath and just love and accept ourselves. Set to lovely background music, Mila silently sat on an outside stoop and, using Love, Actually-style cue cards, reminded all of us that we are strong, we are powerful, and nothing can stop us. Sometimes on a day when nothing seems to be going right, these reminders are all that we need to pick up our heads, stand tall, and believe in ourselves again. Thanks, Mila, for the reminder! 📝
Build Your Power Zones – in German
The 5-week ever popular Build Your Power Zones program is now available in German! Erik and Charlotte take the lead to guide you through pushing yourself and getting that FTP exactly where you want it. Featuring 45 and 60 minute classes, the energy these two bring will surely make this program something you don’t want to miss. Sorry, English speakers – they don’t appear to have subtitles quite yet, so you’ll have to wait for that to take this program. Crossing all our fingers they add them soon because we would love to take this new program! 📊
Joslyn Writes Book
Joslyn Thompson Rule took to Instagram this week to show a lovely video of her signing multiple copies of her new book, How to Move it: Reset Your Body. She reveals that this book is written for those who lack self-acceptance, and encourages them to reflect and accept themselves exactly as they are. Currently 45% off on Amazon, this sounds like a must-read to us and we can’t wait to grab a copy and learn a little more about self-love! 📖
Matt’s 1 mile PR
Matt Wilpers recently participated in the 5th Avenue Mile and found himself with a new mile PR! The race, which is exactly what it sounds like – a mile run on 5th Avenue in Manhattan sponsored by NYRR – took place on September 8. Matt finished the mile with a time of 4:49, which is nothing shy of incredible. One of the hardest working running coaches out there, Matt always brings his best to every run and ride. Congratulations, Matt! 🏅
