This And That: Week of July 20

Your favorite weekly Peloton catch up has arrived yet again – it’s time for This And That for the week ending July 20!  In this weekly series, enjoy five of the smaller Peloton-related new stories that you may have missed.  Whether it’s an update about your favorite instructor or information about a software glitch, you can find all the latest news right here in The Clip Out’s This And That!

Matt Wilpers Completes Another Ironman

Big congratulations are in order for Peloton’s own Matt Wilpers as he finished yet another Ironman!  The race took place on July 13 in Geneva, NY.  Matt took to Instagram to note that the hot temperatures made the race a bit tough (as if completing an Ironman isn’t hard enough), but that he powered the through the swim, bike, and run with a lot of hydration, ice, and some salt tabs and gels.  We at The Clip Out are so proud of your finish, Matt, and all the hard work you put into this race!

Alex Toussaint Thanks Loyal Member

Alex Toussaint, Bike and Tread extraordinaire, shared a heartwarming story on Instagram this past week.  Via narrated video, Alex talks about how he notices one particular member on most of his live runs.  This member is always leading by example with consistency and endurance.  Alex goes on to explain that as an instructor, he too has off days and days when he doesn’t feel like he is bringing his best, but that seeing consistency and loyalty through members turns him right around.  This particular member, Braeden from Toronto, was in studio with Alex recently, and Alex gifted him a pair of his favorite Puma sneakers.  Congrats to Braeden for showing that consistency always pays off, and thanks to Alex for noticing how much devotion Peloton members have!

Emma Lovewell’s New Cradle Your Core Series

Peloton announced this week that starting July 15, Emma Lovewell will begin releasing five classes for pregnant women to stay safe and strong during pregnancy.  The series will be titled Cradle Your Core.  Emma is known for her extremely popular Crush Your Core program on the platform, so this is great news for expectant women who want to keep up with their strength and Emma’s style of teaching, but for whom the traditional classes may not align.  We look forward to seeing what these classes have to offer!

Leanne Hainsby-Alldis Candidly Speaks on Vulnerability

Leanne Hainsby-Alldis was recently interviewed on the British podcast Reign with Josh Smith where she very candidly spoke about leaning into the vulnerability of her cancer diagnosis and repercussions the came along with it.  She discusses the theme of perfection that came with both being a dancer (previously) and a Peloton instructor (currently), and how, after her diagnosis and treatment, she had no choice but to lean in to the vulnerability of her current situation and embrace it.  Leanne speaks beautifully and honestly in the clip she showed on Instagram and her frank and open discussion is inspiring.

Jess King Show Us She Still Can Dance

Although none of us have ever doubted her, Jess King proved she can still dance by posting a video on Instagram with her dancing in front of her TV along with her So You Think You Can Dance performance.  Jess, clad in jeans and a crop top, absolutely slays as younger ‘Jessica’ also killed it on the screen behind her.  It’s impossible to watch the video without, in the words of Denis Morton, ‘a smile on the front of your head.’  Thanks, Jess, for always making us smile and also showing us your moves.  We do, in fact, think you can dance!

That wraps up This and That for the week of July 20, but we’ll see you next week for the next installment: same time, same place!
