Robin Arzón Co-Hosts Strive 2024 Adventure on Necker Island
What an incredible moment for Robin Arzón as she recently fulfilled a personal milestone by completing a 1-mile open water swim on Necker Island! This achievement was no small feat; it was months in the making, filled with rigorous training and a sprinkle of fun as Robin shared her swimming lessons on social media. Let’s just say, she didn’t shy away from the challenge—training even in some “dark ass” water—proving that hard work truly pays off!
Necker Island, owned by the dynamic Sir Richard Branson, is much more than just a picturesque locale; it’s a luxury dream resort that accommodates up to 40 guests. During Strive 2024, Robin had the honour of co-hosting an array of thrilling activities alongside Branson, including exhilarating bike rides, scenic hikes, and, of course, her triumphant swim. And let’s not forget, while Robin conquered the 1-mile swim, her husband Drew took it to a whole new level, swimming over 5K!
Robin reflects on her journey with a sense of pride, emphasising that it was never about perfection; it was about showing up each day, putting in the effort, and allowing progress to unfold bit by bit. As she puts it, “That’s the magic!” This ethos stems from her commitment to the #MyDayOne Peloton series, where she first vowed to learn how to swim. Throughout her adventure, Robin has expressed deep gratitude for her swimming coach, Joe, who has been a guiding light during her training, stressing the crucial importance of technique and building neurological responses in the water.
Her empowering message? It’s never too late to dive into something new—embracing her identity as a “late in life mermaid.” For those itching to embark on a similar adventure, Robin recommends trying out her 20-minute HIIT ride inspired by her bike climbs on Virginia Gorda. So, grab those electrolytes, channel that inner mermaid, and let’s get moving!
