The annual Turkey Burn has become a cherished tradition for the Peloton community. It’s a day when members from all over the world come together to sweat, celebrate, and earn that extra slice of pie. What started as a single class has grown into a global fitness event, a true testament to the power of this community. Now, Peloton is taking this tradition a step further with the “Countdown to Turkey Burn” programming.

The Evolution of a Tradition
Turkey Burn is more than just a workout; it’s a shared experience that kicks off the holiday season and brings even more energy to the Peloton community. First launched in 2014, it marked the beginning of a yearly tradition where members would wake up on Thanksgiving excited to crush a ride or run before the big meal. By 2017, the event had already broken its first world record, showing just how big and global this tradition had become. In 2019, yoga and meditation were added to the menu, making space for everyone to get involved. The next year, 2020, saw the introduction of “Fit Family” classes, so the kids could join the Turkey Burn experience right alongside the grownups.
In 2022, Peloton expanded its offerings again. Alex Toussaint and Matt Wilpers brought new Turkey Burn classes to the Tread and Row, welcoming runners and rowers into the mix with brand-new sessions. Then came 2023. The Turkey Burn shattered not just one, but two world records—and, yes, even the Peloton platform itself (the community’s enthusiasm is that strong!). Last year, in 2024, Peloton debuted “The Feast” featuring six instructors for a tag team style smorgasbord of Strength!
What’s New This Year
To help you build the strength and endurance for the main event, Peloton has introduced the “Countdown to Turkey Burn” collection. This is a multi-week, cross-training program designed to get you ready to crush your Thanksgiving goals. It’s all about showing up, putting in the work, and preparing together as one community.
This program is also perfectly timed to keep you moving while the studios are temporarily closed for live classes. With PSNY closed from November 3-9 and PSL closed from November 10-16, this collection ensures you have a clear plan. All “Countdown to Turkey Burn” classes will be available on demand, and many will be scheduled as Encores, so you can still ride, run, and row with the community in real-time if you choose.
The goal is to participate five days a week, mixing strength and cardio to build a solid foundation. By joining the challenge, you can track your progress and earn a special badge.
Your Weekly Class Schedule
Here is the breakdown of the classes for the first week. You can find all of these workouts in the “Countdown to Turkey Burn” collection on your Bike, Tread, Row, or App.
Week 1 Kickoff
The program begins with a special kickoff class to get things started.
