Event Structure & Community

The Cologne 5K is open to runners of all levels, from those just starting out to experienced marathon participants. Social Run Cologne organizes several pace groups to ensure everyone has support and camaraderie throughout the 5K. By emphasizing community over competition, this event encourages each participant to run at a pace that feels comfortable and sustainable.

Guidance will be provided by German Peloton instructors Jeffrey McEachern and Marcel Maurer, who will offer on-the-spot coaching and running advice as you make your way through the route. And lots of smiles and high fives!

Recovery & Post-Run Highlights

After crossing the finish line at the Cologne 5K, participants can look forward to a dedicated recovery zone. Hyperice is providing on-site stations equipped with percussion therapy and compression tools to support post-run muscle care. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be available, making it easy to rehydrate and refuel in a relaxed setting.

Each registered runner will also receive a goodie bag, including a commemorative Peloton t-shirt and event mementos. The post-run meet-up is an opportunity to connect with fellow participants, reflect on the day’s effort, and unwind in good company.

Preparation & Venue Logistics

Dress for the local weather and make sure to wear supportive running shoes for a comfortable experience. Bag drop facilities at Underdog Espresso are extremely limited, so participants are encouraged to bring only essential items. Please note that there are no shower facilities available onsite; plan your travel accordingly. Ulrepforte and Chlodwigplatz stations are both within walking distance of the venue, making public transit the best option. Parking is very limited, so avoid driving if possible. The location is accessible and designed to accommodate runners arriving by various modes of transport.

Registration Details

This event is open to both Peloton Members and non-members. Pre-registration is required, so be sure to secure your spot ahead of time, as walk-ups will not be accepted. Participation is complimentary for all registered runners. During the registration process, you’ll be asked to accept an activity waiver that covers event safety and data privacy guidelines. Upon arrival, have your registration confirmed for a smooth check-in experience.
