A new milestone for
Emma Lovewell arrived on April 3, 2026, when the instructor taught her first 45-minute Pilates class on the platform, marking a personal first for Emma and a new format option for members who have been building their Pilates practice through Peloton’s expanding class library.
Emma Realized It On the Mat
In a candid moment during the class, Emma admitted she was not entirely sure heading in whether this would be her
first 45-minute Pilates offering. Once she confirmed it was, she leaned into the milestone with the real-time authenticity that fans of her teaching style will recognize. The moment gave the class an energy that went beyond just another scheduled session, turning a routine recording date into something worth remembering.
Emma’s History with Pilates at Peloton
When Peloton launched its Pilates offerings in 2020, Emma was among the first instructors tapped to bring the discipline to the platform, joining a collection that ultimately includes Aditi Shah, Rebecca Kennedy, Anna Greenberg and more recently Johanna Ricouz and Greta Dopp.
The move was a natural fit for Emma, who brought her personal history as a professional dancer to the mat. That background informed her approach to the original prop-free format Peloton adopted. Rather than relying on a reformer or other equipment, the classes centered on bodyweight, breath, held positions, and coordination to create a challenging workout. Emma taught several classes in 2020 and 2021, she stepped away from Pilates instruction on the platform for several years before Peloton officially announced her return to the modality in 2025, this time as part of the regular Pilates instructor team.

Do You Like Props in a 45-Minute Pilates Class?
In this class, Emma incorporated both light weights and the Pilates ball, two tools that change the character of a session in distinct ways. Light weights add resistance to movements that are typically bodyweight-based, increasing the challenge for the upper body and core throughout the class. The Pilates ball introduces an element of instability, requiring deeper core activation and more precise muscle engagement in every exercise. Together, these elements make the April 3 class a more complete and demanding session than shorter, equipment-free formats on the platform. Read our article about props

How a 45-Minute Pilates class Fits Into the Class Library
Peloton has been building out its Pilates modality with a range of lengths and formats. Emma has been central to that expansion, previously teaching shorter formats and
Power Pilates sessions. The addition of a 45-minute Pilates class gives members who have been progressing through shorter sessions a clear next step in their practice. It also signals continued investment in Pilates as a core part of what Peloton offers rather than a niche modality added to fill a gap.
A Milestone Worth Noting for Emma Lovewell Fans
For members who have followed Emma’s work as a Pilates instructor, the April 3 class is a moment worth noting. The 45-minute Pilates class length, the use of props, and the spontaneous milestone energy of the class itself all combine to make it a standout addition to Peloton’s Pilates catalog.
