Welcome to the Clip Out podcast, episode 4 32. This is Crystal O’Keefe and this is Time O’Keefe. You were looking at me like, what number is it? I know. I was like, for a brief moment, I was like, uh. It’s funny that you would think I would know. It was more like help and then realizing I had to help myself.
Yes. You’re like, [00:01:00] oh yeah, you are the sidekick.
It’s never been more evident than now. I vote votes be damned. That was rigged election. I don’t, I think, didn’t we only do that on the Patreon? I don’t know. No, we did it in the crew. Okay. Yeah, so, uh. Gosh, what pray, tell do you have in store for people this week? You know, there’s really not a lot going on.
It’s kind of a slow week. Peloton dropped about a million pieces of information today. And equipment. And equipment, yes, uh, they, we will get into it, but, uh, it. They are touting it as a whole new era and, uh, people have lots to say and maybe the timing wasn’t the best with the government shutdown day one.
Well, when are you ever gonna find a good timing? Politically? Not in the next four years. [00:02:00]Yeah. So, uh, we will get into all of that and we also have, um, that’s like most of our episode today. Yeah, it’s a lot. It’s a lot. It’s a good, it’s so much. Yeah, it’s so much. It’s gonna cover a lot. And we’re gonna help you understand like what it means for the equipment you have now, uh, because a lot of people.
And already are asking a lot of questions like, I don’t understand what this means. Yes. For just my little bike. So we will help you understand all of that. We will. And, uh, we’re also gonna talk about where the instructors are gonna be, where they’ve been in the last week. There’s been lots of really exciting interviews going on, so we’re gonna talk about that.
Um, we also are gonna talk about, uh, pelotons YouTube channel. We’re gonna talk about, uh, the upcoming shakeout run that they are having at Chicago. We have, lots of content that has been dropping this week in addition to all the things that Peloton, right. There’s just dropped Still doing things. They are still doing things.
Yeah. Some very exciting things. And of course we will have birthdays [00:03:00] and uh, I know that sounds like a short run, but we can do some talking. It’s gonna be an episode I have. I have noticed listeners are like, as have we. So before we get to all that shameless plugs, don’t forget we’re available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, iHeart.
Tune in wherever you find a podcast. You can find us while you were there. Be sure and follow us so you never miss an episode. Maybe leave us a review. You can also find us on Facebook at facebook.com/the clip out. While you’re there, like the page, join the group. If you just can’t get enough of us or if you can’t get enough of us, but you’re getting too much during commercials, we have a solution for you.
It’s called patreon patreon.com/to clip out for five bucks a month. You get ad free episodes, you get bonus content, and you get early episodes and of course our undying love and affection. We do really appreciate it. We do, absolutely. And, uh, this week over on the Patreon. We’re [00:04:00] anticipating it to be a shorter bonus episode, so we’re going to throw a Dr.
Jen at you. We talked to Dr. Jen about the fit for TV IE, the Biggest Loser documentary that’s on Netflix. She has all sorts of thoughts about that. She does, don’t you worry your pretty little head. She’s, so we’re gonna dig in on that and of course we’ll talk about which instructor canceled a class.
Suddenly, suddenly, who’s running the New York City marathon? And who is adding yoga? It’s a question mark. Yeah. So it’s not one I would’ve seen coming. No, not at all. So, uh, also don’t forget, uh, you can watch all of these over at YouTube, youtube.com/the clip out, and of course you can sign up for our newsletter where you will get all the links and stuff.
And for the. All the changes with Peloton that we’re about to dig into. Just on the other side of this, there’s a, there is a seven part series, breaking it all down, kind of like [00:05:00] subcategory by subcategory. So if you need to just kind of take it in visually with words. That’s there as well. So that’ll also be in the newsletter, so, absolutely.
So, uh, anyway, there’s all that. Let’s, uh, let’s dig in. Shall we? Let’s do it. Oh, I’m sorry. We shall, there you go. Oh my God. It’s like, it’s your first episode or something. I just, I picture Tim Shaughnessy going,
that’s not what they say. Sorry, Tim. I got it. Crystal’s been abducted. What is Tom done with her? Suddenly the clip out is a True Crime Pro podcast.
Okay, so by the time you’re hearing this. Uh, all of your pre-existing Peloton equipment will no longer work.
That’s great. That’s great. Uh, start ’em [00:06:00] off. Start ’em off. Good. I mean, I know that is, that is gonna be the panic. Yes. Yeah. Uh, yeah. So. Okay. Where do we start with this? So much. Okay. You tell me you’re clip out Crystal. I’m just a sidekick here. Here’s the deal. Peloton is announcing an entirely new equipment series.
It’s called the Cross Training series. Okay. Alright. With that, they have five redesigned devices, so we’ve got a cross training bike, a bike plus a tread. A tread plus and a row plus no regular row. Okay. Okay. We also have a brand new. System called Peloton iq. It’s an AI powered coaching. It’s gonna have personalized plans, real time feedback, and that is going to be available on the cross training series, and it’s gonna have special features there, which we’ll get into.
Okay. But, and this is the most important part. You get it if you have a Peloton piece of equipment today, okay? So, so the software upgrades will [00:07:00] work on everyone’s equipment, everyone, including including the guide. Yeah. Interesting. I know. Well, that’s very kind of them. I know. Yeah. Okay. This one is really exciting to me.
Expanded wellness content. They have brand new partnerships with hospital specialized solutions, resin Health and High Rocks. What that means for you is they are going to have brand new programs that are with HSS. It’s going to be for, uh, keeping you healthy on the front end, so like pre rehabbing. Okay.
And post having, uh, whenever you have an injury. Okay. You’re also with Resin Health. That is all about menopause content. That is Hailey, uh, excuse me, Holly Berry’s Company. Okay. And, uh, there is going to be a specific eight week menopause program that is done in conjunction with Resin Health. So moving forward, if you have a Peloton.
Menopause will only last eight weeks. That’s what I’m hearing. [00:08:00] Is that what’s, is that what’s happening? No. Oh. And, uh, they are also going to expand their partnership with High Rocks. There is going to be additional programming coming for that, and you are going to see, um, specific things that are going to be helpful for, like, how to prepare for High Rocks, et cetera, competition.
All of that’s gonna be coming out. Okay. Then. Because we’re not done. No, we’re not even close to done. We’re not even close to done. Yeah. Alright. They also acquired breath work. First off, I think we need to take a beat to be like Peloton acquired, bought something. Not only that, but they did it so quietly.
Yeah. Like what I I, I do have to say. Hat tip to whoever kept this under the hat that they’re tipping. Dude, we’ve been doing this for eight, eight years now. Yeah. Uh, is that right? I don’t know. 2017, whatever. Do the math. Yeah. And, um, I don’t think they’ve ever successfully kept an acquisition. Yeah. Under [00:09:00] their hat like that deep.
Yeah. That was, that was amazing. Yeah, it was amazing. And, um, okay, so breath work is guided breath work. This is the coolest like easiest acquisition or integration ever. It’s already out there. It, it’s, it works today. You download the breathwork app, you tell ’em you’re a Peloton member, and then you log into your Peloton credentials.
You get all of the breathwork content instantaneously. Ta-da. It’s so easy. It’s just right there. It’s so easy. Yeah. Alright. They also have. Brand new community features. So they are updating teams. So in the past they’ve had community teams. Yeah. Like we have a clip out team. Mm-hmm. It’s hidden, but it’s there you are.
Right. Um, and then they are going to have teams that are run by instructors now. Okay. And they also are gonna have teams that are for things like High Rocks competitions and like, you know, that, so like very specific and sponsored teams that are run by Peloton. Gotcha. Um, and they’re also doing this thing called Club Peloton.[00:10:00]
So Club Peloton is going to reward the most active members, not the longest term members. I will say, but the ones who do the most, okay, so the people, like if you have one membership and you have eight people on it, right, like that person’s gonna have the most, right? Yeah. But you get different gemstones.
We talked about this a while back, right? They were like, all these gemstones showing up, what does these mean? And I had a feeling it was a beta test. We talked about that. It was a beta test. Yeah. They’re rolling it out. You are going to be awarded. Levels, depending on how active you are. So how many classes you take and how many things you’re part of, and yada, yada, yada.
We don’t know exactly know how it all breaks down just yet, right? But that is all rolling out today too. Now, not so exciting to people. Membership, pricing, updates. That is happening. Alright. They’re only updates. They’re never down dates, but like we knew that this was coming. Yeah.
The quarterly call said there’s gonna be a $5 increase. Right. And it’s coming [00:11:00] soon. And we even said they’re gonna be rolling stuff out. It’s gonna be happening. Yeah. They said October. We said October. Like, here we are. October 1st. To die and it’s happening. Yeah. Uh, people are acting like a $5 increase is the end of the freaking world.
It’s so interesting to me because you get more and people are like, I don’t need more. Yeah. I don’t want more. I don’t need more. And people in other countries like Canada they’re like, dude, we already pay so much. So like a $50 membership is like 70 Canadian dollars or whatever. Right. I don’t, I don’t know how to do it.
I just know it’s more expensive in Canada. Loonie, I just know it’s more expensive. Yeah. So that is a very, very broad breakdown. Okay. Alright, now for the boys. Now as far as this cross training, uh, series, this is pretty complicated. Okay? Okay. Because they have, for whatever reason now we have a bike and a bike plus, but I already own a bike plus.
So now there’s two bike pluses. There’s bike plus. So here’s how we’re going to [00:12:00] differentiate these from this moment going forward. Bike times, no. No, we are gonna call it cross training plus the cross training series. Okay. Is gonna have a regular and a plus and then you’re gonna have the original bike.
And the original bike plus. So we are gonna differentiate by cross training. That is how we’re gonna differentiate. Bike minus. Bike plus minus. No, you are not in charge of naming. You are. You are kicked out. Bike Plus is now called Steve. No. And then bike is called, jason, stop it. Okay. So, here’s the thing.
The new, the app has 30 days free for anybody. First of all if you want to get a regular, is this a bike or a bike? I can’t even tell. I, I should have done this differently. Okay. I think, I can’t freaking find anything. Okay. The tread. The cross training tread. Okay. Regular [00:13:00] is 32 95. The cross training bike is 1695.
The new cross training row, plus 34.95. Okay. The Tread plus cross training. Tread Plus, right? $6,695. The new cross-training bike plus 26 95. There’s your pricing. Okay. All right. The membership pricing went from like 44.95 to 49.95. Okay. And that’s of course the all access. That’s if you have membership, the I think the app pricing went up as well, but I’ll be honest, I haven’t really looked into that much.
Yeah. Um, I’ve been a little distracted with some other things and there’s a lot to digest. Definitely a lot to digest. Yeah. So for that, those are all things now. Yeah. What do you get for these cross training things that you don’t have at home? Alright. If you were to buy a [00:14:00] cross training series, any of these plus or regular all of them have the same monitor. They are all a smaller monitor and it is a monitor that works with all of the different series and it swivels so that in theory you can cross train, right? You can do the strength off the bike, you can do yoga, you can do Pilates, yada, yada, yada. This is kind of. It’s not surprising.
I get why they would want one monitor across all devices. It’s just, it’s cheaper. I totally get it. But the tread plus that you have, um. Has a giant freaking monitor. That monitor is massive and I love it. And I just feel like whenever the day comes that that stops working and you have to get the new one.
Mm-hmm. I just feel like you’re gonna be like, but this monitor is so dinky. Yeah, I am. It’s gonna be quite the culture shock. It is. We’re gonna have to take it off and just mount a flat screen on the wall in front of you or something. Probably. Yeah. It feels like old school tread plus. Yeah. [00:15:00] They all have wolfers now.
No, not all. Not all. No. Oh, see, you gotta slow down. You gotta read this shit. That’s why shit, why we got you here. The, the pluses due. The pluses come with front facing speakers on all of them. And they’re Sonos. Okay. They’re all Sonos. So the pluses due. The pluses also come with a phone holder for the bike, which has never existed before.
Yeah. Um, and you have like, a fan. A fan for all the pluses. Yeah. And it’s built in and you can adjust it. It’s adjustable. So three, three speeds. Yeah, three speeds. I don’t know why, of all the things that stuck in my head, I don’t know, but it did. And then you also have a brand new seat for the pluses.
Now these accessories that I’m referring to can also be purchased separately. Okay. Not clear what all they work with yet. Yeah. So don’t ask. ’cause I don’t know what all do they work with. Really the phone holder is interesting because they keep making phones bigger and this one like. Cups your phone.
It’s [00:16:00] not just a flat piece like it actually holds your phone. Right. So I’m worried that’s gonna be Yeah, like obsolete in like 10 seconds when every hotel added clock radios with iPod chargers and then like six minutes later iPod changed what their charging ports look like. Precisely. Yeah, precisely.
Yeah. So that’s, that’s interesting. Now the other really big thing is this Peloton iq, and this is really confusing to people. Again, it works with all of the existing. Equipment. So you get that all of it. Right. But if you have one of these cross training series, you also get things like it’s built into the cross training series.
You get, it’s gonna count your reps. All of the guide features are put on the equipment, but again, this is only for the new equipment. We thought this was coming.
Yeah, but I thought it was only for the bike. So the difference is going to be that it’s going to count your reps, it’s going to give you form correction in real time, and it’s going to tell you like, oh, you did a lifting [00:17:00] session. Here’s what you should do next. It’s also going to do things like, uh, you were able to do more reps.
With a 10 pound weight, why don’t you consider moving to a 12 pound weight? So in other words, they’re trying to ton analyze things. Right? It’s the tonification. It is the tonification of Peloton. Yeah. Which needed to happen. It did. It did. All. Oh, the new models also have upgraded processors for faster performance, stronger wifi, stronger Bluetooth connectivity, and like we talked about the enhanced audio systems, um, the swivel screen we already talked about.
So I think that is all. Yeah. And there’s gonna be, you have to have the new stuff. ’cause that’s what has the built-in camera to get the form feedback, to get the rep count, to get all of that. So if you have a regular piece of equipment, you’re still gonna get the IQ software. Right. Okay. But it’s not going to do form feedback.
It’s not going to do rep counting because it doesn’t have the camera. It can’t, some [00:18:00] of them have cameras, but, but it doesn’t take But not kind. Exactly. Yeah. And that’ll confuse people, which is why I’m clarifying that. Right. Um, so yeah. So other than that, what’s going on? HSS is called Hospital for Special Sur Surgery.
That is the one that’s gonna have expert driven injury prevention and recovery content that’s specific for athletes that are, I mean. Anybody is an athlete that does Peloton. Yeah. So, but if you’re looking for pre rehabbing and, and post rehabbing, that’s really good for you. I’m really interested in this Respend Health and what they’re gonna do with that.
They’re saying it’s, it’s offering science baked based guidance, so I’m not clear exactly what that means. Yeah. Um, and of course, high Rocks. Everybody knows what High Rocks is, so, okay, well that’s a lot. It’ll be interesting to see. Have, is there any early feedback? Like did the stock price go up? Um, like what’s the general I don’t think tone of everything.
I don’t know that the stock has opened yet. Gotcha. Um, ’cause it’s [00:19:00] just now, well maybe it has, it’s eight o’clock. Let’s see what we got going on here. Here it is up. It’s up 4% today. It’s up to nine. Dollars and 21 cents per share. Oh, almost getting into the double digits. I mean, let’s not jinx it. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that. You know what’s gonna be the real question is how people buy it. Now, the timing of this is important because we’re going into the holiday season.
Always an uptick in equipment sales, always. That’s their busiest time. So undoubtedly that’s why they chose now to do it for sure. They’ve been working on this stuff for a very long time. Um, plus how douchey would it be if they wait till the other side and then it’s gonna look like they’re just blowing out all the old equipment.
At Black Friday sales to be like, surprise. You just bought an old model. Well, listen, people are already pissed about that for sure. I just bought a bike. I just bought a tread. I just bought a blah, blah, blah. Yeah. Like, and they’re mad and I get that, but I, I don’t know how you, I mean, what are you supposed to do is just we’re not gonna sell equipment for six months.
Well, [00:20:00] and it’s like people just cannot wrap through their heads. Yes, that sucks for you, but like, legally, what else could they do? Right? Like, you’re not, like, there is a quiet period. You can’t just go around saying stuff before it’s official because that messes up. Everything to do with stock. You’re not supposed to do that.
Right. And so, so like, yeah. That, that sucks for you. But in the past, I have no idea what Peloton will do now because it is new days right. Over there for sure. In the past, if you have bought something in 30 days and they give a new thing, they will refu. Like if they lowered the price, they’re gonna lower Yeah.
The price. But if there’s new equipment, there’s new equipment, they might offer a trade-in. I don’t know. Yeah. I’ve asked some of these questions. We have gotten zero information. Still it. They are swamped dealing. Sure. Dealing with all the press. Yeah. At the same time. But one of the questions we had was like.
Are these going to be available in other countries? Are they, when are, when is the pricing going to start kicking in? So I think it’s just whatever day of the month you normally get billed. Gotcha. That’s your [00:21:00] next billing price. Okay. That’s what you’re gonna get. Makes sense. But there’s just some of these things we just don’t know.
Is there gonna be a trade in program? Don’t know the answer to that yet. Uh, hoping that we get to find out soon, but there’s a lot that’s still in flux, so everybody just needs to give it a second. Yeah. And like see what happens. And I, if you. By Friday when you’re hearing this, everything should be rolled out, but it does take hours upon hours to roll out to millions of people.
So do be patient. Um, also, I was reading our, our own article. Mm-hmm. And the app plus they’re very informative and the app plus is going up to 28 99 a month. And app one is staying. At 15 9, 9 a month. So that’s the one where you only get like three classes, right? Like I don’t, it’s like the lost leader.
Yeah. Yeah. That almost nobody’s on. Correct. Which is why they didn’t change the price. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. It’s just to pull you into the ecosystem. It is. Yeah, it is. Okay. Oh, uh, one more thing about those official teams, if I didn’t say this already, they’re led by instructors. You did say that. Okay.
Yeah, I wasn’t sure. [00:22:00] Yeah. Whew. Well, do you have questions like you seem completely uninterested in this. No, I just, I mean, it’s just like drinking from a fire hose, but like it is, I just feel like there should be more. Yeah. People are not happy about the price increases. I mean, they never are. No, nobody ever wants to pay more money, which I get.
I don’t either, but No, I don’t. I don’t. I don’t either. Nobody ever wants to, but I feel like you’re getting a good amount of stuff for it. Like the breathwork integration by itself is worth five bucks a month. Yeah. But I’m sure a lot of people were like, I’m not gonna, but I’m never gonna use it. Never gonna do that.
I know how to breathe. So far so good. Here’s the thing, I love tonal and tonal costs 50 bucks a month for tonal. Yeah. And it’s beautiful and worth every penny, I think. But you don’t get near what you get from Tonal. And you know, we, we love tonal around here. Love it. But you don’t get near what you get from tonal.
Or you don’t get near what you get from Peloton with tonal? No, there’s just a, a larger variety. Also, people, [00:23:00] I forgot to mention this. There was this random guy in a commercial that appeared yesterday as their teaser. Yeah. Don’t know who it is, and I don’t know what it’s about. Everyone’s like, okay, so it must be a new instructor maybe.
And by the time you hear this, we may already know the answer. Right. But right now we do not know the answer. I, there have been multiple reports of who this person is, and no one is, sure, okay. It has not been announced, confirmed who this person is. It is not been confirmed. So I don’t know if we’ll have the answer to that.
But what I will say is a lot of people are making the assumption these changes are being made to do less classes. I don’t think that’s true. I think you’re gonna see more programming across more things, but you might see it in the form of. Having collections or having programs, you may not see it as live classes.
Yeah. But you’re still going to be seeing a lot of programming, so that still pisses people off. I, I know there’s been long-term members that like they used to get on every day, include, myself [00:24:00]included, 6:00 AM and we had rides and those days are over and that is sad and I miss that very much, but I do appreciate.
The variety of equipment and the variety of content that Peloton puts out, I really do. Yeah, I, I just don’t see them. One, like they might diversify the classes, but I just especially like, unless they start shedding instructors, how much money does it really save them to have all these instructors on staff, but then not have them create content?
Everybody thinks they know everything. Yeah. Like before, when Peloton posted this teaser yesterday, the people who assumed they knew everything it meant, oh, it means that the UK is finally getting the row. How are you getting that from this teaser? How is that your takeaway? I know that’s what they want.
Right. Like I totally get that. Yeah. And it’s fair. You’ve been a member for a long time and you want the rower like, I get it, but like I don’t understand how you take that teaser and flip it into, it’s [00:25:00]gonna be a new row for the uk People see what they wanna see. That’s my point. Yeah, that’s my point.
Like it just, it had nothing to do with that. And it’s interesting that people would jump to that so have we covered everything? I guess so. Okay. We’ll move into the other stuff. Okay. It’s gonna be very anticlimactic after a while. I know. Uh, Peloton announces a Chicago shakeout run. Woo. At the shakeout run will be rad. I think it’s rad. Matt Wolfers and Marcel Dinkins. They are all running in the, in the Chicago marathon.
Right. And they are gonna be leading the shakeout run. I love that. Peloton does these shakeout runs. I’m just not excited because I’m not running a marathon this year. Right. So I’m not nearly as excited about marathons, but if I was, I would be really stoked about this. Absolutely. Uh, also a Pelotons YouTube channel.
If you haven’t checked it out, there’s a lot of stuff on there. More than you might think. Yeah. So, um, our. Help her be. Elizabeth was the one [00:26:00] that brought up the suggestion and wrote the article that we should, you know, kind of lay this out for people because she had noticed not only do they have all of the information out there for the nutrition that they’ve been doing.
Yeah. But they have like all these other breakouts and so she was like. Who knew? Yeah. They don’t push it that much at all. Like they really don’t. Yeah. Like it’s there if you go look for it, but that’s kind of it. So we have the food, so you can go and see it’s called Peloton Fuel. And you are able to get the recipes right from the instructors ’cause it’s usually the instructors that are, are making the food.
Then there’s also meet our instructors and me members. They have a whole playlist just for that. So the instructors, they show each of the instructors and their personality. So if you’re not sure if you’re gonna get along with an instructor Yeah. Uh, so to say you could, you could do these little meet and greets, if you will.
They also have, uh, meet our members. And of course, this is like everybody’s favorite because there’s so many cool stories in the Peloton community. I mean, just [00:27:00] amazing stories. Yeah. And inspirational. And, uh, this is where they have a whole bunch of really standout things. Um. The, there is a video that is Peloton instructors, surprise Peloton members, and it has over 66,000 views and it really captures the, the like bond between members and meeting the instructor for the first time that they love, you know?
Right. Um, then there’s also Fit Family. They recently posted some of these classes directly to YouTube. So even if you don’t have a Peloton subscription, you can still take some of these Fit Family classes. There’s a few out there. Um, so that is, uh. That’s what you got. Awesome. And that article’s over@thekbo.com, or we’ll be in the newsletter if you’ve signed up for it.
So you can go check that out at your leisure.
Coming up after this, we got instructors in the news. We’re gonna instructors interviewing and being interviewed by celebrities. And Selena Samuella has a gender reveal, so stick around.
[00:28:00]
Camille Ramon interviewed Gloria Estefan.
They did. She was actually Gloria Esteban visited Peloton. She was interviewed by Camille, like you said, but um, she was there like doing a whole panel and it was for Latin Latin Hispanic heritage month and. And, uh, it was really cool because all the instructors were so psyched to meet her.
The, um, everybody was posting pictures with her and I mean, she’s just a legend. Oh, for sure. She’s just a legend. Yeah. But yeah, she got to interview her and talk to her and just. Enjoy the whole thing. And I guess this all was done from the Sony Music, Latin family. So they’re the ones that partnered Oh, okay.
With Peloton to get this set up. So I thought that was cool. Absolutely. It was really neat to see all the instructors posting and how like, genuinely like starstruck they were. It was really cute. Especially since they get to, they get to meet some very, uh, high profile people. Right. So it’s always interesting to see what really flips or switch it does.
Yeah. Speaking of celebrities, [00:29:00] alex Rod Rodriguez, who is a famous baseball player. According to my notes, interviewed Robin Arza, who is a famous Peloton instructor, really according to my notes for Bloomberg. Yeah. What’s funny about this is I had posted in our little chat that we have going, I was like, okay, Bloomberg has a big feature on Robin, and then two seconds later, somebody else posted.
Arod interviews, Robin and I was like, I’ve made a note for myself. These are the same thing. And then I was like, thank God you pointed out that was Arod, because I had no idea that was, and I was like, he’s a baseball player. Right. And they were all amused by my lack of sports. Yes. We don’t do the sports and I know he is a big deal.
I know he is. I mean, I know the name right. But I couldn’t tell you who he, what he looked like or describe him. I’m always like, if I know their name, then they must be a big deal. Right. Because I don’t know anyone else they have, if it trickled down Yes. Into the [00:30:00] non-sports world, into my brain, then they must have been a big deal at some point.
Yeah. Yeah. And this, this whole interview is about like how she went from lawyer to Peloton instructor, which most people have heard a million times. Yeah. But, but it’s, it’s a very, I think it’s worth noting that it’s an interesting time that. Bloomberg got the exclusive to push out all of this information a couple days early.
Like they didn’t give details, but they said that Peloton was gonna be doing all this, and they got, they got that two days before Peloton posted about it. Right. So then to have that timed with Robin getting a big feature on Bloomberg and it’s interviewed by Arod, it just, it’s just interesting. Yeah.
I’ll just say that yes. Feels like there was maybe some. Discussions. Well, I mean, I think that, you know, it’s a partnership. That’s the way it works and that is the way it works. Yeah. But I just like, I’m not offended by it or anything. I just, I think that’s the, like the little details that when you’re, for an average person who doesn’t [00:31:00] watch this stuff like a hawk, right.
You would not. You would not even notice. Right. The connection and it’s just, it’s just interesting to me. It’s, yeah. So, uh, Selena Samuella had her gender reveal. She did. It was actually really cute because, you know, Selena loves to play golf, so does her husband. Yeah. So their gender reveal, and I know you hate gender reveals.
I did think this one was, I, I do really cute. Because her and her husband, since they’re, they’re having twins, they both were there and they both had like a little golf tee with a golf ball and when they hit it it like get, did a cloud of smoke when the, when it hit the ball to show what color Yeah, it was.
Yeah. And. Was the gender reveal. But what was funny about it is they’re both golfers, right? So they both hit the golf ball and they both look at the golf ball to see where it goes before they look at the smoke. They’re so trained. Yeah, it was so funny. Uh, but they are having two girls. Okay? So very exciting for the family.
Congratulations. Hannah Corbin has announced her book tour. She [00:32:00] has the first three stops are going to be, uh, San Francisco on October 29th, and it’s gonna be New Jersey on November 2nd and Boston on November 8th.
And she said that more cities will be announced soon. Awesome. I’m surprised. Uh, there’s no St. Louis on there. Oh, I’m so shocked. Although honestly our library has, we do have some really cool authors, is one of the, like high, has some of the most high profile art authors come in to speak. It’s, from what I understand it’s very prestigious, sought after in terms of.
Bringing in authors. Like it’s very respected. Well, I don’t know how respected it is, but I do know not a single Peloton author has been here. Yes. I, I know that, I do know that as well. But we’ve gone to a few, we met, we have, yeah, we, uh, we saw and met Valerie Burelli there. Yeah, that was cool.
We met RL Stein, author of Goosebumps, and the guy who wrote. [00:33:00] The Children’s book series Arthur, that was turned into the PBS cartoon, they had done a book together, but they’ve had like some really, really big names. So like I am kind of surprised that none of the Peloton authors have kind of fallen into their circuit
coming up after this. I know. We just, we just broke, but like. Yeah, everything was so front loaded. Yeah, we probably should have put one up there, but, uh, but anyway, we’re gonna talk content so you can still use your equipment and we’re gonna tell you what you should be doing on that equipment coming up after this.
It is time for the TCO top five. We’re still doing that. So, uh, you told us your favorite classes, and now here we are to tell you what you told us. Number one, your favorite ride. Your favorite ride was the 30 minute top 10 songs of summer in Spanish with Camila Ramon, and that was taught on July 1st. Of this year.
It was [00:34:00] Diana Vogue’s favorite ride. She said it was so much fun. She lowered the instructor volume and cranked up the music and danced and sang her way through it. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, you’ll know these songs because they are dance floor faves. That’s fun. Yeah. Uh, number two, your favorite row.
This was taught by Alex K and it was dropped on. September 11th, it was a 20 minute, nineties row. Paul Kittinger loved this ride. It was theme songs from nineties television. Mm-hmm. It reminded him of the long purged JSS theme song, ride of Yesteryear. Ah, what a moment in time that was. So that’s a fun row and, uh, we’ll remind you of, remind you of JSS and also of Howie.
The, um. The Sopranos, Allie McBeal and the Rugrats were included just to name a few. My first thought was, uh, full house. I was just like, whatever happened to predictability Number three. Your favorite stretch. Yes. This was taught by Hannah Corbin on [00:35:00] July 8th, 2022. Mark Welch nominated this class and, uh, take it while you can, ’cause it’s old and you never know when it’s gonna disappear.
That is true. He says, back in the day, he used to be flexible, and this was the first stretch that made him feel like with enough repetition, he could regain his splits. Good luck, mark. Hey, I, well, we never had ’em. Never had ’em. So that’s why I said, good luck. You’re doing better than us. Yeah. Uh, number four, your favorite hike.
Okay. So Maddie taught this on September 16th. It was a 30 minute hike, and Sonya Norman nominated this, uh, it had three of her favorites. Maddie Pop, punk and hiking. Ooh, pop Punk. I’m in, um, and I’m gonna have to add this to my list. Play the awesome playlist, great structured workout with five intervals each five minutes long.
We’ve got all American rejects, Olivia, Rodrigo, and Fallout boy. Ooh, that does sound good. Olivia Rodrigo is pop punk. No, but I love it anyway. Okay. I was like, I didn’t know that so well. She said it included. She didn’t say the whole thing was that. Gotcha. Okay. [00:36:00] And then number five. Wait, I think we’re gonna, we’re gonna have to fix this in post.
There’s something, there’s a typo here. It says An unst stackable meditation. That doesn’t make any sense. Tina says, that’s right. This meditation is our Unst stackable class This week. It was Dennis Morton from July 27th, 2025. Not because you end up in a pool of your own sweat. Unless you’re of that age, we see you hot flash ladies, but because you absolutely, positively cannot take another class when you were sleeping like a baby.
Debra Angelo nominated this as one of her favorites this week, and since no one un nominated Unst stackable class, we ran with it. Love you, Tina. Uh, Deborah said, uh, what a beautiful voice to fall asleep with. Dennis does have a fantastic and soothing voice, so make sure you’re, where you plan on being for a good eight hours once you start this meditation.
Tina was on a roll. Yeah, no, she’s sassy. So, uh, taking [00:37:00] a look at this week at Peloton, we’ve got. Cover songs? We do. It’s, uh, it’s called Cover to Cover Gin. Sherman has been doing, um, these for a while, but this is the first new cover to cover class we’ve had in a while. So Peloton was highlighting that It’s really fun.
They are covers of covers, so it’s like, uh, I always forget the name of like, um. Summer of 69 and those, like, instead of it being, it’s black flag sticker of black flag sticker on the back of this car. Oh, that was Boys of Summer. Boys of Summer. Yeah. That is a good example of something you might hear on a cover to cover.
Um, and it’s like songs you may not have heard or covers that you didn’t realize were covers, but they’re, they’re fun. Like, it’s, it’s always a fun ride. So people just didn’t know what that meant. So I wanted to explain that. Yeah, like, like people were like, what is this? Uh, we also have new scenic classes.
We do, um, and they’re from Santa Santo Domingo. Okay. And it looks beautiful. It does. It makes me want to go to Santa [00:38:00] Domingo right now. It looks better than the chain of Rocks bridge in St. Louis. I’ll tell you that. Side note, rabbit hole. We saw that they are filming a documentary at the Chain of Rocks Bridge, and you could, they were asking for extras.
We’ll tell that story over on the bonus. Yeah. Looking for murder victims. That’s what they’re looking for. Uh, Maddy Mao’s got a walk and talk. He does 30 minute walk and talk Friday, October 3rd. And it’s great to see these live ’cause Maddie’s classes are so fun. Yeah, those walk and talks are special. And finally.
A future unst stackable, 10 10 minute deep relaxation meditation taught by a deedee Shaw, and it will drop on Sunday, October 5th. We also, uh, over@theclubout.com, we have a complete guide to Andy Spears strength classes. Yeah. Now, I know that sounds like an obvious thing, like they’re Andy Spirit glasses, it’s strength that got it right, but, but honestly, there’s [00:39:00] so much out there.
There’s total strength, there’s density, there’s. The TS sixties, what does it all mean? You are my density, destiny. I stand by what I said. Okay. Uh, what movie is that from? Back to the future. Thank you. So Helper be, Elizabeth also wrote this article and she broke down all of the details so you know what Andy Spear strength classes you need to take for your goals.
So this is great. Love this article, and that’ll be in your newsletter if you’ve never signed up. Here’s another reason. Uh, Ash and Alex k have a new row program for people. Yeah. It’s called Row the Distance, and it helps you get to 2K on your rowing, and so you’re gonna slowly build up to that and it’s over a few weeks, so it looks like a lot of fun.
And they, they’re both really fun instructors. Yeah. And they were really excited about teaching it, so That’s awesome. That’s cute. Uh, and we talked about how Peloton, uh, with all their announcements today is extending their High Rocks partnership and they have a 75 minute. [00:40:00] High Rocks Bootcamp for you?
They do, and I believe it’s taught by Andy Spear. It’s not listed on demand yet, but they posted about it on socials. It will be the first 75 minute bootcamp ever. Oof. That sounds awful. Ever. Yeah. Oh, thank you. Sounds intense. The idea is to like increase, so like taking a 45 minute High Rocks Bootcamp that also dropped this week, taught by Robin, and then working your weight up to the 75 minute because the endurance piece of the high rock is apparently the hardest part, right.
Benny Adam posted about this the other day. He was like, he was, he was, he’s been training for High Rocks and then he went to go do a trial and he was like, it kicked my ass. He was like, it when you put the, when you put all the exercises together, that’s what kills you. Yeah. It’s like, it’s not about the wall balls, it’s not about pushing the sled, it’s not about running.
It’s doing it over and over and over again in a circuit that kills you. Right? So these boot camps will be very helpful for people training for high rocks. And then finally, Jeffrey McKean has a World AIDS Day run for you. He does, and I believe this [00:41:00] is his third or fourth one that he’s done.
But, um, it is nice because you can get on, you can, they’re pre-recording it so you’re able to go take the class ahead of time and see yourself later. Yeah. Um, so all the details are online about that. I had a picture of him, or I thought I had a picture of it, but it’s. Oh, here it is. I found it.
Um, it’s, uh, the prerecord is October 31st, and, uh, that’s in London. So the time is local to London. And then you, it’s 30, 30 minute run, so you can get in the class and book with Jeffrey. Get plenty of notice. Yeah.
And we only have one birthday this week.
I feel bad at the beginning of the show. You said birthdays, you promised multiple birthdays. Well, Nico’s worth more than one, but there’s only one on October 3rd. Nico Serani. Happy birthday, Nico.
