welcome to the Clip Out podcast episode four 19. This is Crystal O’Keefe, and this is Tom O’Keefe. Hello. Hello. That was a busy week. Well, it was a busy week, but not really that busy at Peloton. Well, I guess they threw out some things last minute. It was, I think they were like, we’re closing down the office for the holiday.
419 both: Let’s hurry up and post this stuff. I guess I should say it was a busy end of last week. Oh yeah. For them. [00:01:00] And that is, that is true. So for some people it might feel like we’re covering old news, but, but it has that, I think that’s true. It hasn’t been encapsula encapsulated. Memorialized, if you will, in a podcast episode.
419 both: Yeah. So we have to have it here just for posterity and what is that that you’re talking about? I don’t know. What are we talking about? I don’t know. You brought it up. Talking about Alex Toussant. His clap back. Woof. Yeah. Yeah. He told Jennifer Jacobs to watch her fucking mouth. Yikes. Yeah. So, uh, yeah, we will, we will dig into all of that and, but what else in addition to that, will we discuss?
419 both: Uh, we will discuss, um. Dick’s Sporting Goods, are they no longer selling Peloton equipment? Ooh Uh, and then we are going to be talking about Disney Plus and what the newest configuration of Disney Plus on your entertainment tab. Not to mention Peloton is now offering [00:02:00] birthday month. Discounts. Um, sadly we have a ton of store closures and it marks a very big milestone in the sad direction.
419 both: Yes, it does. Um, we have a, uh, programs are failing to load. We’re gonna talk about what’s going on with that, why it’s happening, how to fix it. I mean, I don’t know how to fix it. That’s the spoiler. I don’t want, I don’t wanna say I know how to fix it. That was, I felt like, so we won’t talk about that. We won’t talk about how to fix it.
419 both: We won’t, uh. Sorry, I, uh, got carried away. Yeah, so excited. Uh, we will talk about instructors in the news, the newest instructor to have a baby. And who is the newest bar instructor? And we have a past instructor update one that won’t enrage you. Yeah, yeah. Um, and then of course we are gonna talk about the latest artist series.
419 both: There were a couple this week. We have some competitor news and uh, we ha are gonna talk all about the [00:03:00] latest content that is either has hit this week or is about to hit. Okay, well, before we get to all that shameless plugs, don’t forget we’re available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, iHeart. Tune in wherever you find a podcast.

This week on the bonus, we’re gonna be talking about brain aging. Yeah. What they’re finding about how it ways to potentially, they’re saying in some cases, reverse Alzheimer’s.
419 both: That’s exciting. Yeah. Logan talks about his arm anniversary and he calls it that, his words. Yes. I actually researched that to make sure. [00:04:00] Mm-hmm. Yeah. And then, uh, what’s up with the Brittany remixes? So, uh, we will, we’ll talk about that over on this week’s bonus episode and whatever other, uh, silly stuff falls out of our mouths because you never know until we get there.

419 both: We talked last week about Jennifer Jacobs and her ill faded attempt to get people to migrate to ladder. [00:05:00] And just it was not well received. It was not well received. There are still people that are saying, well, it’s got you talking so therefore it works. And I say, yeah, but did it.
419 both: Yeah, because I, I, I think that marketing should only count if it is an actual conversion. And from what I have seen, everyone is not only not converting, but hating the brand. They’re actively hating the brand. Like, look, there are certain. Types of brands that getting someone outraged at your product to work for, but very few.
419 both: And like if you think that this is good for ladder, you either work for ladder or. You work for Ladder. Yeah. Because had some of those show up on the, uh, this, the old social media, this is not good for Ladder. And, but seriously, if you don’t work for Ladder and you think this is good for ladder, I mean, to be perfectly frank, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
419 both: Yeah. You are just [00:06:00] wrong. And the other thing that I find that proves that they’re wrong is that, and Jennifer Jacobs has in fact shut her fucking mouth. Yeah, yeah. Like, uh, she has shut the fuck up. Um, there has only been one other video, and it was a person interviewing, quote unquote, the newest instructor at Ladder.
419 both: And just to show that the only way Jennifer Jacobs can get Buzz is to invoke Pelotons name that video. Only had 69 likes a day after it had been posted. And like how many shares was like 35 or something? Maybe, yeah. Was 37. And, which I just think is funny ’cause it’s like I’ve had episodes of real spoilers that get more shares than that.
419 both: Yeah. Like and real spoilers is nothing. That thing, like, I like, I mean I love doing it, but like, and then it’s got a following, but it’s not like. A juggernaut or anything, right? Yeah. Yeah. And, um, and so I’m just like, that’s not [00:07:00] what you want. No. And so like, but if you have to. Enraged people to get the shares.
419 both: Well, that’s not really worth doing either. Exactly. So, because conversely, the videos that did get shared like 1500 times on Instagram, they got shared, but the likes were not high. Yeah. They got, that’s what the kids call getting ratios. That’s exactly what it was. Yeah. Uh, that’s exactly right. And I just, I feel that it’s very telling that she has not said anything else and neither has ladder.
419 both: Yeah. They’re quiet. It’s hard not to think that she went the ladder and was like, we need to stop. I this is destroying me mentally. I don’t know. But the reason we bring it up again is because of Alex OSA’s comment, yes. During a class. On the platform. Yes, it was. So I know people are gonna ask, it was the June 27th, Friday the 27th, whatever that Friday was.
419 both: [00:08:00] Okay. I’m like, don’t worry, you’ll hear about it in the TCO top five. Oh yeah, that’s true. I have no doubt you that is true. Uh, it was his nineties run from that Friday, and uh, he. He waited until he was like halfway through the class and he was like, you ever have an intrusive thought? And then I was like, oh, it’s coming.
419 both: ’cause I had heard, right. He said something and then, uh, he waited until Thunderstruck came on by a CDC. And it’s not like Alex plays a lot of a CDC. I’m not saying that he never plays a CDC, he’s not known for his love of the classic rock. He is not, yeah, it would be like. It would be the opposite of Jen Sherman played a CD like you expect Sure.
419 both: That, yeah. Um, and so, uh, I was like, oh, this is an interesting song. Yeah. And so I started listening very closely and then he starts in about how everybody has that one cousin who starts, who acts up sometimes. And he was like, don’t get it twisted. I still love her. But if [00:09:00] that had happened, if I had been at work on Wednesday.
419 both: That would not have happened. And just to recap, in case you missed last week’s episode, the Wednesday he’s referring to is when Ladder had trucks pull up in front of Peloton Studios. Billboard trucks. Billboard trucks, and it said, ditch the bike and get ladder. And I feel like one, how much would that have cost ladder to get that kind of parking in downtown Manhattan?
419 both: At that time of day, that’s one thing. Yeah. How long does that take and then what kind. They, they purposely chose Wednesday. There’s no way they didn’t. Right. Because Wednesday no. Members are at the studio. And if, I believe, if OGs had been there, it would’ve been ugly. Yeah. I, she’s just real ugly.
419 both: I think it would’ve been as well. Ah, so, um, I think that’s what Alex was referring to, and [00:10:00] then he was talking about you need to watch your fucking mouth when talking about my team. I still have love for you, but watch your fucking mouth. Yeah, I was surprised at the. Depths of anger that it sounded like came out of his mouth.
419 both: Yeah. He was, uh, not happy. Like, and I don’t blame him. Like I’m not no good. No, I was certainly upset. I mean, I had my own rant Yeah. Last week. Not on such a large platform. Yeah. But, uh. But yeah, I do not begrudge him. No. The dude, no. But but I was surprised. I I was also surprised. I think it says a lot that it would’ve been very easy for Peloton to just quietly not post that class.
419 both: Yes. Yes, it would have. And I think, and the same way they replied to us with a comment so quickly, LA last week mm-hmm. To debunk her implying she was returning to Peloton. I feel like them allowing that to go on the platform was. Also [00:11:00] very purposeful because they knew that an outlet like us would grab it.
419 both: Mm-hmm. And push it out. Yeah. Which we did. Yeah. And man, did it go crazy? Yeah. Yeah. Have we ever had a post? I mean, that’s like, no. Daniel McKenna when we broke that story Yeah, that one. That, that was, that might have been, I stopped looking at the numbers on the Daniel McKenna because it was, people were so mean to you.
419 both: Yeah. For telling them the truth. Uh, it was like, in that situation, people treated me like Jennifer Jacobs. Right. So that wasn’t nearly as fun as this one was. But uh, yeah, so that could have been, I don’t know, uh, if the numbers were the same, but it was. It was pretty intense. And it’s still going and I’m like shocked how many people are still seeing It’s like the how it just keeps reverberating.
419 both: Yeah. Like it has not stopped momentum. Yeah. Which is kind of crazy that it, it reminds you of how large the Peloton community has become. Yeah. When you see it echo like that. For sure. And that’s [00:12:00] just it’s hard to even wrap my head around properly that the Peloton. World is that large. Yeah. But uh, I also, not only do I agree that it was interesting that they posted it, it’s also interesting they kept it up.
419 both: It’s been up all weekend. Yeah. Still up to the, the best of my knowledge. And on Sunday it was trending as the third most popular run on the platform. So. Yeah, I mean, listen I don’t really take classes with Alex Sain, but. Listening to his passion got me riled up. Yeah. Like I was, I was in incited by what he said.
419 both: And I also think that we talked about this a little bit off the show and then somebody mentioned the exact same thing on my Instagram. So I feel like it’s worth mentioning. I feel like for [00:13:00] me personally, doing this for eight years. I mean, there have been times, there have been many days that I’m just like, why am I still doing this?
419 both: Yeah. ’cause it’s so much work. It’s a lot of work. People have no idea. And, and I don’t I appreciate the support that we get and I, our, our members and the listeners are amazing. But there are some days that I’m just like, why do I have two jobs? Why did I self-select that? Right. Yeah. And when I.
419 both: Hear an instructor be that impassioned and I see the community coalesce in the way they did. That’s why. Yeah. Like that is the magic of what, what drew me to Peloton in the first place. And it was like, it was like a shot of adrenaline to the entire community. And I think in the same, very dark way.
419 both: It’s not the same at all, but it’s just the. Example that comes to mind when a horrible thing happens like nine 11, right? The whole, the whole country came [00:14:00] together. Nothing unites like a common enemy. Yeah. And Jennifer Jacobs made herself the enemy. She made herself Peloton. Every Peloton members in enemy.
419 both: And again, I wanna say to people who are like, Peloton members are butt hurt. You totally are missing the point. It was not. It’s not that it was just a cheap shot at Peloton. Yeah, that was rude. No doubt. Yeah. But like that’s not the issue. The issue is she made people excited because she made it sound like she was coming back and then she wasn’t.
419 both: And then she called another brand the best, and her word means nothing because she keeps jumping from ship to ship to ship. Yeah. And they can’t all be the best. Right. So, that is the issue. They, they felt that she was a traitor. They felt Yeah. They felt betrayed. Very betrayed. It was a betrayal. And so I know that I said that last week, I just feel like, obviously not everybody listens to every episode.
419 both: Sure. So I just feel like people need to hear that that’s not what it was about. That’s not what people were upset. Yeah. [00:15:00] But Alex, Alex’s rant was amazing. I mean, I think if you work there, if she’s a former coworker. That has to feel like a personal insult. How does it not So, I mean, yeah, it’ll be interesting.
419 both: God, you know all the pictures I have of her and all the other instructors, and here’s the thing. She went to Ali loves. Freaking baby shower and, and Alex Toussant was there. Yeah, I know he was. And ’cause he posted pictures from it. She talked to him and didn’t say a word about this. Yeah. Because we had had this conversation like, do you think she gave them a heads up at the shower that something like this was coming and then when Alex’s class dropped, we were like, oh no.
419 both: No, she did not. She did not. She absolutely did not. Because if he had had a heads up, I don’t think he would’ve reacted that way. Yeah, he wouldn’t have been happy. And he may have told her, and he may have even found a way to put a stop to it, like the Wednesday thing that occurred. Right. Yeah. But, but, uh, [00:16:00] there is no doubt in my mind that none of those people and I also think it’s very telling that Emma’s been silent and allie’s been silent.
419 both: They have not said a word about it. Yeah. That I, there’s no way, there’s no way they’re hunky dory with this situation. No way. None. No way. None. Well, when you posted, the clip from Alex’s class, A story we broke. Just throwing that out there. Yeah. But, uh you obviously got a lot of engagement, a lot of likes.
419 both: One of them was Tunde. It was, yeah. That also felt, yeah. And, and Jen Kotter. Yeah. So, so, so, anyway, there’s, uh, the latest there. Let’s, uh, let’s move along. Shall, okay. Okay. All right. So. Dick’s Sporting Goods, if you are a Peloton fan, is now Flacid. You’ve been waiting all day to say that, haven’t you? All day.
419 both: Yeah, all day. So, uh, they are no longer selling [00:17:00] Peloton equipment. We think, listen, that is how I take this news, because what, there was an article that we pulled this from. Yeah. And it was like, Hey, you can get really good deals. It was from Life Hacker. Life Hacker, yeah. And he was like, you can get really good deals at Peloton right now, or at Dick’s Sporting Goods for Peloton right now.
419 both: And they said they are, they are like selling out, closing out all the floor models Yeah. Of everything. And I feel like when you’re selling out all the floor models and there are these deep discounts on them. It really sends a signal. They’re not going to be selling equipment you want anymore. You want the product gone.
419 both: Right. Like you don’t need a, you don’t need to the stock because it’s not what you sell anymore. Yeah. And so people have been scoring 50% off Wow. Bike pluses and regular bikes. And they’ve been, even, some people have managed to get some amazing sales on rows. And the thing is, is that. They are different all over the country.
419 both: Uh, so you have to call your local [00:18:00] Dick’s Sporting Goods and see what they have, but you can get a really good deal right now. So. And definitely check it out. Um, it might be a good time to wear, like, yeah, if you’ve wanted a row like this could be, you’re not gonna get a better deal than this. Or like, I know some people are like, I’d like to have a second bike, but is it worth the money?
419 both: This could make it worth it. This could make it worth it for some people. And then the other, the other thing to remember here is that though we don’t know that that’s what’s happening, if that is what’s happening, they’re no longer gonna be selling at Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s, it makes it interesting because Peloton has been trying to sell in more places and they’re closing down so many stores we’ll talk about later.
419 both: Mm-hmm. But with closing retail stores, this has been a retail outlet. What does that mean? Yeah. Does that mean we’re gonna see another retail partner? Yeah. Do they maybe have a bigger brand in the hopper? Like all of a sudden they’re gonna pop up at Walmart or Target? And so Dick’s was like, well then we don’t wanna.
419 both: Be competing with something like that or maybe Walmart or Target [00:19:00] told them we don’t want it in another store. If that’s what you’re gonna do. Totally. Could be. Yeah. Like, you know, and we’re just hypothesizing here. Yes. I don’t know that any of that is true. Yeah. But, uh, but yeah, it’s hard not to read into that.
419 both: It is, it you like Disney plus. Mm-hmm. And who doesn’t, I mean, really? Yeah. Lots of people. They’re woke now, you know? Uh, but it is just don’t get me started. It is now available on your entertainment tab. So. And this is another one. Like it has been available, but it was technically beta. Yeah. And it disappeared and it came back and some people never had it, like, ever.
419 both: Right. Some people had it and then it got taken away. Mm-hmm. Uh, but apparently it’s back now. And Kirsten was, was plugging it on the tread.
419 both: She was showing like, Hey, you can watch movies and series and things like that right on the tread. Um, and so that all seems to. Tell us that it’s official. Yeah. Now actually she was pushing Iron Heart. Oh, was it Iron Heart specifically? Yeah, I said and or just ’cause and, [00:20:00] or I haven’t watched it yet, but I’ve heard It’s amazing.
419 both: But, uh, but Iron Heart is the new Marvel show, like Iron Man spinoff. Oh, well it was just all of the Disney stuff, so it really didn’t matter. But she mentioned Ironheart specifically. I never watched the video. I did. So I, I didn’t, I was just, I was just calling myself out. No, I know. I was just saying I I’m not just like winging it.
419 both: I watched it. I know you’re fine. And she. They showed clips of Iron Heart, so yeah. Okay.
419 both: Peloton is now offering birthday month discounts. Yeah. Why could they not wait until after August for this? I really don’t think it’ll matter. I, I, just I’m just, I don’t need to keep buying exercise clothes. I always just tease. But, but anyway you can. Get a 25% off Peloton apparel and they give you a unique code so that you can use, and a lot of stores do this.
419 both: I’m kind of surprised they waited this long, but I’m also like, but there’s so many sales. How often can you use it? I, I don’t know, stackable, like, there’s [00:21:00] not stack stackable. Nothing stacks a peloton, nothing ever stacks at Peloton. So the answer is no. I, assure you, they’re all unst stackables. They are all unstack.
419 both: That is exactly right.
419 both: So we have more store closures. We do several, yes. Uh, Los Angeles, the Westfield century, century City the Georgia Alpharetta store the Skokie and Illinois, Vegas and Nevada. Two in New Jersey, Paramus and Cherry Hill, Murray and Utah. And that means we now only have 10 retail stores left. Wow. In the United States.
419 both: Wow. Indeed. It’s interesting that all these, uh, leases were kind of in sync. I don’t think it’s that crazy because they were just on such a kick. Yeah. And they were growing. And so I, these are, these are kind of the larger ones, like Skokie. Mm-hmm. That, that was kind of a, that’s a milestone for Skokie to go.
419 both: Okay. The, um. [00:22:00] The per the Cherry Hill store, that was one. Um, the Westfield Century City, all of all of those are ones that have been around for a long time. Gotcha. So I, think that is why I think they had longer leases. Ah. ’cause they had. Expected to stay around longer. Right. Um, and yeah. And these are big markets.
419 both: Vegas, like Los Angeles. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t know where Alpharetta is, but my guess is it’s, it’s just outside Atlanta. Atlanta, yeah. That was my, that was my guess. So, yeah. Like, yeah, like these are, these are, and Skokie is just outside Chicago. Yeah. So like, these are big, big markets to, to close up shopping.
419 both: ’cause we thought, yeah. Now, now when you look at the map there’s, hardly anything in the, in the Midwest. Yeah. It’s back to where it was back in like. 2018 actually probably 2017. It’s parentheses. Yeah, exactly. That’s exactly what it is. But yeah, like I, you know, we thought like, oh, maybe they’ll keep the top 15, 20 markets and now it’s looking like maybe they’ll keep the top five.
419 both: I don’t even know if they’ll keep that. Yeah. But you know, they are, remember they are switching to [00:23:00] these micro stores Yeah. Where they just have like a piece of equipment and a, and a little bit of clothing. You can order the clothing. You can’t just go in and buy whatever you want. So it’s gonna look very different Yeah.
419 both: Going forward. But yeah. I do wonder if you’re right that you’re just gonna shut down everything. ’cause honestly, if you were gonna keep anything, I would’ve thought la. Yeah. But, I will say, I think LA still has another one. Does it? Okay. Um, I, it had to, but maybe the other one’s already closed. Right. I don’t recall.
419 both: Yeah. I didn’t look that closely at the map. I didn’t memorize it. There’s so many closings to keep track of. Yeah, exactly. So programs have been failing to load for some users. Yeah. I feel like I need to back up and explain that recently. Peloton. Pushed out an update and they said they were gonna make programs so much better and easier for people.
419 both: And part of that was that you were no longer gonna be able to access programs on your smart tv. Mm-hmm. Or the web. So you couldn’t get to, you can’t use an internet browser to get to programs anymore. [00:24:00] Still get to the, the content, right? Not programs. Alright. The reason that feels important to mention is then they release the update.
419 both: The update made it so that you no longer have locked classes in programs. You can now put them in your stack, which is where it always should have been. Mm-hmm. Um, and made it a lot more flexible, however. People have had so much trouble getting into their programs and it’s completely intermittent. There have been people that have never had it show up since the programs rolled out.
419 both: There have been people that had it and then it disappeared. There have been people that only have two or three programs that show for all programs and it is completely willy-nilly, and some people just have no problems at all. Right. Everything’s fine. But adding to this is that. When people chat with customer service, they don’t know what they’re talking about because it’s first line.
419 both: Yeah. So they’re telling people that it has been [00:25:00] discontinued from phones. And the guide and everything, and it’s like, no, no, no, no, no. That’s not what happened. You guys discontinued it from the web and smart TVs and you were telling people the opposite of that. Right? So when people call and they’re like, why can’t I get to my program?
419 both: They’re like, because it’s gone now. Yep. Yeah. Word. That’s the answer. That’s the answer they’re getting. It’s chaos out there, man. So help me spread the word Yes. ’cause people need to know that your programs are gonna be fine. They are working on it. It is showing on the status page that it is an issue. Now they say that a fix has been implemented and they are monitoring the results.
419 both: I say it ain’t working because this I am getting, dms daily about this occurring like this has not been fixed. And Peloton has also told people to like restart their equipment, which has nothing to do. Right. With your app. So that doesn’t even make sense. Yeah, there is. That’s nonsensical. So yeah.[00:26:00]
419 both: Coming up after this we’re gonna tell you which instructor is the newest parent. And tell you who the newest bar instructor is. So stick around.
419 both: Bradley and Sophia Rose are now parents. They are little baby Grayson Everett Rose was born, uh, and uh, doing well. Mom had 75 hours of labor, 75. Holy cow. Yeah. Yeah. So, yikes. It was not, it was not an easy birth, but everybody’s doing great and we wish them all very well, man. Bradley Rose is never gonna hear the end of that.
419 both: Never nothing gonna be nothing. You do, Bradley. Nothing. It’s gonna be like you ever do. It’s gonna 30th anniversary. And she, and he’ll be like, what if we, and she’ll be like, remember that time I was in labor for 75 hours? Delivering your child? [00:27:00] Yeah.
419 both: Good lord. Mm-hmm. I can’t even imagine. Yeah. Yeah, they, I know, I know at one point before the baby was born, they showed that she had been induced twice and they were like, just go walk for a while, like nothing was happening. Oh man. They induced me twice though. Mine did not take 75 hours, but it was a good 36.
419 both: Yeah, it was a long, long labor man. Yeah. It didn’t hurt till the end though, so it wasn’t that bad. It sounds like hers was way worse. Yeah, I’m not a woman so I won’t comment. That’s probably for the best.
419 both: So, uh, Leanne Haynes, be Aldis moving right along. Keep myself outta trouble. That’s a good idea. Is Pelotons newest? Bar instructor. She is. Yeah. And, uh, we were all kind of hoping it was gonna be Ash Pryor that is no knock against Leanne. Yeah. Uh, but Ash has been doing a lot of posts about Bar.
419 both: Mm-hmm. And we all just kind of thought she was gonna be next. Maybe she still will be in the, in the upcoming lineup. [00:28:00] Right. But today or this week. It was Leanne’s turn. We have also seen a lot of hints that Leanne was gonna do this. She’s been posting a lot of Pilates content, uh, excuse me, a lot of bar content.
419 both: They’re kind of synonymous in my head, even though they’re not. And, uh it’s, great to have another instructor. There’s a lot of people that think that this makes sense timing wise, because with Allie, even though we don’t talk about baby, she’s gonna have to go on maternity leave at some point real soon.
419 both: And when she does, then they still need somebody to be able to, Film the content for Bar. Sure. So it makes sense that Leanne has been added to the roster and I mean, congrats to Leanne and we hope we get to see Ash there soon too. So Krista McGee left Peloton a while back. Yeah it’s been a year.
419 both: Yeah, it’s been a year this month. So, uh, which would explain why she. Posted on the socials teasing some sort of announcement. Yeah, she said [00:29:00] stay tuned. I messaged her. She did not answer, so I don’t know what it means. But I’m gonna say she’s not returning to Peloton. Like I wanna be clear about that after what happened with Jennifer Jacobs because the person specifically asked, we miss you at Peloton.
419 both: Yeah. And she said, I miss you too, but stay tuned. And I don’t want people to hear that as she’s. She was saying she was com. Kristen McGee is a really sweet person and I just can’t imagine her trying to give that. Vibes for sure at all. So just wanna make that clear. Yeah. So we will, we’ll stay tuned. I have an idea of where it might be.
419 both: Yes. Mm-hmm. And people who’ve listened probably have the same idea. Yes. But, uh, and we’ll tell you more about it over on the bonus
419 both: or appear whenever it becomes official. Well, we will definitely do that. Yeah, absolutely.
419 both: So we got two. Artist series. Yeah. And a third coming up. Oh. Uh, it hasn’t been announced yet, but I think it’s gonna be announced tomorrow.
419 both: So I just wanna [00:30:00] say it when we’re done with these two. Okay. Okay. The first is, uh, an, uh, an artist series focused on. Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter album. Yes. And there are a lot of classes for this one. I did not realize that there are two eyes in her album. All, there’s like two eyes in everything and that’s because it’s the second in a trilogy.
419 both: So there was, first there was Renaissance and then Cowboy Carter, and then there will be a third follow-up that will be like bookend, like a whole thing. Okay. So. When Peloton posted Uhhuh, I’m explaining this because when Peloton posted about it, they had two eyes in all words that included eyes. And we were like, we’re old.
419 both: What the hell does this mean? Right. Right. Yeah. So doing some quick Googling that is what the Googles say. Okay. Okay. So people who love Beyonce and they love Cowboy Carter, they’re very excited about this. Sure. And there will be tons of glasses. And also we have an artist series featuring. My all time favorite Jimmy Buffett.[00:31:00]
419 both: Well, it’s Nikki’s favorite and she is, people love Jimmy Buffett also. Those people are wrong. You just settled down over there. This is interesting because there are only two classes that are on the schedule for this. Yeah. And it’s, it’s, both of them are appearing on July 3rd.
419 both: So I think it’s specific for the holiday, what they did not yet post specifically giving like, Hey, this is happening, but I think we’re gonna see it tomorrow. Is the scorpions. Ah, the scorpions will be two German classes according to the studio schedule. And there will be two German classes doing the scorpions.
419 both: Oh, cool. At the same time. So there’s a lot of artist series happening. Yeah, this weekend. This holiday weekend.
419 both: So this isn’t. Technically competitors I guess. ’cause since Lululemon and Peloton have kissed and made up Ish. Ish, but but I didn’t know [00:32:00] where else to put it.
419 both: And we’ve got this fancy competitor sweeper, so I thought we’d use it. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, uh, Lululemon is suing Costco. Overdues. Gee, I feel like we’ve been here before. Yes. It feels like this is exactly what Peloton got sued from. Yeah. And then they settled and then they became friends. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out because, I mean, I didn’t go down the rabbit hole to see like how much of a dupe it was.
419 both: It’s pretty duy. But Costco has a long and rich history of duping. They sure do. I mean, that’s kind of their brand. Yeah. And so it’ll be interesting to see. How this shakes out, because Lululemon has, has obviously won lawsuits like this before, but but I would also think Costco has a long and rich history of making dupes.
419 both: So you think that like they’re going to be, it’s much more in their interest to [00:33:00] fight this than, you know, like Peloton making dupes. That’s a side. Project that’s ancillary. It’s where Costco, it’s a core part of their business, so, absolutely. So if all of a sudden they can’t make dupes like that, that could have a domino effect.
419 both: So they might really feel like they need to draw a line in the sand here. It, could, I will be very interested to see how this one goes. Especially because one of Lululemon’s most popular products are their little, uh, scuba, hoodies. Okay. And they zip and it’s called the, it’s like a scuba hoodie ’cause it’s made of the scuba material.
419 both: Oh, okay. Okay. But, um, Costco’s version looks identical. I mean, identical. Yeah. I also think it’s interesting because this past holiday season. Peloton had Pelotons in Costco’s for the first time. Mm-hmm. It was only from December to February, right? Maybe it was October to February, but it wasn’t long, like for the [00:34:00] holiday season.
419 both: Only for the holiday season. It, just is interesting timing because Lululemon sent over their complaint in November and Lululemon in Peloton. It’s just, it’s a lot of, there’s a lot of stuff happening here that’s very. Anti synergistic. Yeah. It just makes me wonder if like the end, the end all be all will be, and Peloton sells their branded Lululemon stuff at Costco.
419 both: Like I could see a world where that happens. Yeah. Like I could, so yeah, that would be interesting to see. But it would, yeah, it also, Peloton wants to stay the hell outta lawsuit, so it also could not go anywhere near that. Yeah. So, well, I heard in order to get revenge, Lululemon is going to start selling.
419 both: Soda and a hot dog for a dollar 50. They’re like, take that Costco
419 both: coming up after this. We’re gonna talk content. So many classes out there for you to take. You’re trying to figure out which are the best. Well, we will help [00:35:00] you right after this.
419 both: It is time for the TCO top five. You have told us your favorite classes and we will tell you if you are correct. Here we go. Your favorite run, not even a close call. No. It was not a close call. It was a 30 minute nineties run from June 27th. Guess who taught it? Alex Toussant. And we should say, uh, this class is Unst stackable.
419 both: If you or Jennifer Jacobs, I don’t know. I’ll tell you what, it got people, it is not listed as an unst stackable, but it did get people so riled up. People were running so fast the second half of this class. So, uh, you know, and for people who are like, I don’t have a tread. Oh man, that sucks. Go take it outside.
419 both: You can go for a walk and listen to it. You will be angry walking, but you will have so much fun listening to this yourself. Yeah. Is the best. This is probably. The most viewed but not taken [00:36:00] class in the history of Peloton. I don’t know, there’s probably some other ones, but, uh, at Lizzo one, maybe. Yeah.
419 both: Yeah, that was, yeah. That’s crazy. Um, so, uh, Melissa said that this run was epic and already legendary, and Tina added on come for the exercise. Stay for the drama. Uh, number two is your favorite bike bootcamp. Yeah. So Rad Lopez taught this back in April of this year, and Karen Maik loved this class class.
419 both: She said she enjoyed the 60 minute, it was a 60 minute bike bootcamp, and she loved 60 minutes with heavy weights for strength portions. And then the class ended with a Tabata. Finisher need I say more Great workout. Woof, Tabata and heavyweights. Yeah. Oof. How is that not unst stackable. I know. Uh, number three, your favorite strength class.
419 both: Okay. Karen Smith took this class. It was taught by Kelly Gullickson on June 22nd. It was a 20 minute arms and shoulders, [00:37:00] and Karen said she loved Callie’s. She loves Callie’s strength classes, but she doesn’t take them that often. She needs to incorporate more of her classes in because they are sneaky hard.
419 both: The cla, this class was all lightweights, but my shoulders were talking to me by the end of the class. Uh, number four, your favorite holiday run. All right. Mark Welch took us on a journey, uh, because it is June and Mark decided to do something totally different, so he decided to take a. 30 minute holiday run with Jess King from December 8th, 2020.
419 both: Okay. And he said, uh, we were, he said, um, recently he found this gym. He said he did this class on a day. He did not wanna run. And he thought about just going to bed, but he decided to do something totally different. Seeing Jess run with Christmas lights in her hair, kept the atmosphere light. And I survived.
419 both: I strongly recommend people look for vintage runs and classes. Ooh. But. Peak pandemic. I [00:38:00] know. I don’t think I really wanna revisit 2020. Yeah. But, uh, there were some amazing classes during that time and, you know, I, and some very different classes during that time, which have to be getting close to their purge date.
419 both: That’s true too. So if you. If you do wanna see, it’s probably time you take those. Yeah. Or revisit how unique Peloton was at that point in time. I will never forget Maddie taking out the ceiling tile in his parents’ basement. Yeah. So he could teach tread classes. Yeah. So like that was, that was epic. Yeah.
419 both: Uh, and then finally, you are unst stackable. Listen, Mariana Fernandez is Beck and for an unst stackable. She’s been in our unst stackable several times. She taught this class in Beck’s place ’cause Beck wasn’t able to run the stay. Mm-hmm. It was on June 28th. It and, um. Courtney Fields recommended this class.
419 both: She said Mariana covered Beck’s Saturday morning slot, and it was awesome. The structure was perfect, and the playlist was great. The moderate and challenging efforts stayed the same length, but the hard efforts get longer. With each round, I would [00:39:00] mark it down as an unst stackable. I had planned to do another 20 minutes after that one, but once I finished, I was done.
419 both: Okay. And Mariana’s awesome. You can’t go wrong with Mariana. So I guess let’s take a look at this week in Peloton. We’ve got first up pistol, squat iusa. We do, we do. Yeah. So, uh, there’s all these drills, classes that Kira has been doing and they, this week it is yoga drills. Pistol squats. So getting better at pistol squats.
419 both: Listen, I am not a huge yoga person. I love yoga, but I do not do it often. Mm-hmm. I don’t do it as much as I should, but I will probably be taking this one pistol. Squats are really hard. I am not good at them, and I need to do better because it’s that single leg strength and it’s your, you’re doing.
419 both: You’re doing a squat one-legged. Oh yeah. That’s why they call ’em pistol squats. I think it would just make be more like a [00:40:00] pissed off squat. Well, this particular class is a drills class that helps you build the muscles to get better Okay. At doing it. So I am down for that. I think that’s perfect. So they came out this week and you should check it out.
419 both: We also have live outdoor run club we do this week. Uh, Matt. Wilber is gonna be teaching the class. So Saturday, July 5th at 10:30 AM Eastern. He’s gonna be out there some sprint interval training for you. Yeah. So hopefully these will land in, uh, the perimenopause collection because, uh, they have a whole collection for sprint intervals, Uhhuh now, and I, I would like to think that it’s because we’ve had so many people, um, that have been telling Peloton, we really want a collection for this.
419 both: Yeah. So brand new, 1 45 minutes with Christine July 5th at. 10:00 AM so this would be awesome. You can take it live. How exciting. And uh, we also have a SIM 60 tread bootcamp. Yeah. We haven’t had one for a little bit. It’s, been a while. So July 6th, there’s gonna be a brand new [00:41:00]1:10 AM live and we’ve got some classes that are on our radar.
419 both: So they should be on yours. Absolutely.
419 both: We have season two of like, nobody’s watching. Yeah. Jeffrey McKee McKeon is launching season two of like, nobody’s watching. And, uh, he loves to have these where you, he’s, you get to hear him sing like nobody’s watching. So that’ll be fun. And move is one is back, it is Friday, July 4th. There’s gonna be a 45 minute the blast, full body strength and it’s gonna be multiple instructors. And, uh, this is not gonna be live because it’s July 4th. Yeah, let ’em have the day off and they are going to have the day off.
419 both: But, uh, we will find out soon who, what instructors will be there ’cause we can’t see. So that’ll be fun. They have a lot of other 4th of July classes independent day classes that are gonna be dropping as well. And just a reminder that PSNY is closed the week of July 10th. Mm. So, yep. Lots of closures this summer, so try to stay [00:42:00] calm.
419 both: Yeah.
419 both: So the July challenges are finally available. Yes. Courtesy of you. I mean, yeah. I gotta, I, I, you know, I don’t wanna toot my own horn. I’ll toot it, but, uh, I emailed and I was like, it was July 1st. And I was like, all right. I stayed calm until July 1st.
419 both: I just assumed somebody forgot to hit a button or whatever. So. Peloton, what are we doing? They were like, stay tuned. Five minutes later they start populating. There is no way that was not related. So you’re welcome everyone. Yes. If you’ve been waiting for the July challenges, you can send a thank you card.
419 both: Too Crystal or simply join our Patreon. Hey, that’s enough. That’s a huge thank you. I’ll take it. Uh, Andy Spear has a, a new Discover Kettlebells challenge. Okay. This is cool because you might remember recently we had our first live [00:43:00] challenge for Power Zone. Okay. This kettlebell challenge is going to be live.
419 both: Oh, okay. Interesting. So what they’re gonna do is on Mondays new on demand, basic classes are gonna drop. So you take those at your own pace. Okay? And then every Thursday they’re going to have a brand new live class. It’s gonna be dropping 9:30 AM Eastern, and you will be able to apply those skills you learned on Monday in Thursday’s live class you or will only need one light and one heavy kettlebell.
419 both: There you go. How cool is that? Awesome. Four Week Live program. Number two. So here’s a name you don’t hear very often. Al Ion has a new Strength plus program. She does? Yeah. And this one looks amazing. I just love the name of it. It is so badass. Yeah. Iron Elite. Ooh, I know, right? It says Level Up with a Salt in her first Advanced Strength Plus program focused on building muscular strength and power.[00:44:00]
419 both: Very cool. And finally, Adrian Williams brings Thunder 45 to the row, just announced today. He is officially bringing these, I think it’s Tuesday is the first class that’s gonna be dropping. So that is, that’s pretty fun. The, uh, thunder 40 fives have been his thing over on the tread, so it’s really fun seeing it come over to the row.
419 both: It is, yeah. And what is a Thunder 45. Oh, right, you don’t know. Yeah. Uh, it is. His signature class on the tread, and it’s a bootcamp, so it’s 45 minute bootcamp and it’s mixture of strength and running, and so now it’s gonna be a mixture of strength and rowing. Ah, I see. So that’s pretty cool. Do you even get off the rower?
419 both: Are you just like, you just start throwing the weights and you start juggling ’em? You start doing bicep curls. Yeah. In between. Yeah. As you’re sliding back and forth. Right. No, that would be such a bad idea. Yeah. So, so we don’t have any birthdays again this week. It just hold, on. [00:45:00] It’s July. Yeah, we’re gonna, we’re gonna be stacking ’em up in August.
419 both: Yeah, it goes crazy in August. It does. So, um, so I guess that brings the show to an end until next week. Where can people find you? People can find me on Facebook at facebook.com/crystal Do O’Keefe. They can find me on Threads Blue Sky Instagram, and the Peloton platform at Clip Out Crystal.
