New Peloton x Respin Menopause Study Proves Movement Changes the Menopause Game
Menopause is a biological certainty. Suffering through it doesn’t have to be.
For too long, the conversation around menopause has been muted, often focused on what is lost rather than what can be gained. This collaboration between Respin and Peloton sought to answer a pivotal question: Can targeted lifestyle changes such as exercise, education, and community meaningfully reduce the symptom burden for women in real-world settings?
To address this, the Peloton/Respin Exercise & Symptoms Study (P.R.E.S.S.) was launched. The aim: determine whether an 8-week online program, leveraging Peloton equipment and Respin’s evidence-based guidance, could improve quality of life during menopause.
The results speak volumes.
The P.R.E.S.S. Study: Real Life, Real Results
Unlike many studies conducted in controlled laboratory environments, P.R.E.S.S. took place in the context of daily life. Women aged 40-65 who identified as experiencing perimenopause or menopause symptoms participated, while navigating work, family, and all the demands of midlife.
Over a 60-day period, participants engaged in a multi-component approach that included:
- Curated Exercise: Resistance training and classes tailored for midlife physiology.
- Education: Articles and resources on lifestyle medicine and hormonal health.
- Community Support: Access to a dedicated online space for sharing experiences.
Perfection was not required, rather, the focus was on consistency and integrating this work into existing routine, making use of the Peloton platform. The classes were offered in a new Collection and we are thrilled to see that Peloton has advanced this conversation over the past year (as we reported many times on its development in 2025). It’s great to be heard!
Key Findings: A Snapshot
The data presents a compelling case for movement as medicine.
After just 60 days in the Respin program, significant improvements were reported in symptom burden and overall quality of life. Highlights include:
- 84.3% of participants reporting overall improvement.
- Close to 50% reaching the clinical threshold for significant symptom reduction.
- Global Relief: Positive changes noted across all domains: vasomotor (hot flashes), physical, psychosocial, and sexual.
Symptom-specific relief underscored the program’s impact, with participants experiencing an average 57% improvement in sweating, 50% lessening in worsening PMS, and marked reductions in heart palpitations and sexual dysfunction.
Additional feedback included better sleep, less time spent sitting, and overall feelings of strength and capability.
Celebrating the Breakthrough
This research highlights that clinical improvements do not require controlled lab settings. The right tools, education, and community support can drive meaningful change.
To celebrate the successful completion of the P.R.E.S.S. study and the participants’ dedication, Peloton and Respin are hosting a special event to bring the data and community to life. We’ll have an insider’s review of the event and the study experience coming soon!
