Get to Know Peloton’s Greta Dopp: Her Recent Instagram AMA

As we know, Peloton recently welcomed three new instructors to the Yoga and Strength family. This new crew has been busy recording class content as well as getting their Instagram accounts ready for the love from Peloton members. After excitedly announcing she’d reached 10K followers, “Miss Canada,” Greta Dopp, was the first of the three to post an “AMA” or and “Ask Me Anything” in her IG stories.

What is an AMA?

This is a fun feature that most instructors use from time to time to directly connect with members. They will post a question box on their stories, allowing viewers to type a question that goes to them directly. Then, the instructor reviews all the questions and films little videos or creates still photos that answer the questions. Instagram stories are only available to view for 24 hours from when they were posted, so if you missed this one but are curious, we captured the highlights so you can get up to speed on everything Greta.

The following questions were posed by members.

How did Greta get noticed by Peloton?

Greta revealed that the whole Peloton journey started in a way many dream about: a surprise DM. One day, Peloton slid into her Instagram messages, letting her know they loved her content and asking if she had 15 minutes to chat. After conferring with her family and making sure this was legit, she took the plunge. That conversation quickly snowballed. Greta was told the process would move fast, and it did. Her first big task? Submitting a 20-minute audition tape, where she showed off her skills and personality. After that, Peloton sent her a list of questions to record on video—almost like interviewing herself so they could get to know her even better. Greta soon learned they liked what they saw; she was invited for an in-person audition in New York. She described that experience as nerve-wracking, thrilling, and a true whirlwind. Throughout it all, she stayed focused on being herself and letting her passion for movement and community shine through. By the time she walked out of that NYC studio, it all felt surreal, but she was grateful for the opportunity.

What was the hardest part of joining Peloton for Greta?

Greta mentioned that keeping the secret about joining Peloton was challenging. She had to keep it under wraps for nine months, even as she left her previous studios where she had built a strong community.

What’s Greta’s biggest fear in life?

Greta admitted that her biggest fear is feeling stuck. She balances this by being brave enough to start anew repeatedly, even though she acknowledges the importance of staying put sometimes.

What part of Canada does she call home?

Greta isn’t just from one spot; she claims both coasts. Squamish, British Columbia is one home base—it’s where she lived right before packing her bags for NYC. But she also calls Collingwood, Ontario home. That’s where she grew up and where her family and many friends still reside. She made it clear she loves representing both the east and west sides of the Great White North.

How’s her transition from BC > NYC going and what about missing nature?

Moving from the mountains to Manhattan is a shock to the system. Greta admitted it’s a bit too soon to deeply “miss” nature, but the feeling is creeping in. It’s snowboard season back home, and she mentioned missing the community and the mental health boost she gets from winter sports. However, she’s not dwelling on it. The stimulation of New York City and the excitement of her new role are keeping her plenty busy and satisfied for now.

What’s her nationality?

Greta clarified her background for curious followers. She is Canadian, with an ethnic background that is half Thai and half white Canadian. She shared this answer over a sunny photo featuring a Thai flag, celebrating her heritage.

What is Greta’s favorite Canadian snack?

You can take the girl out of Canada, but you can’t take the Canadian cravings out of the girl. When asked about her favorite snack from home, Greta didn’t need words. She posted a photo of a “Family Size” bag of Lay’s Ketchup chips. It’s a staple north of the border and a clear winner in her book.

This commentary came after members heaped praise on her fashion style and her teaching…

Dopp’s style is already turning heads. A follower complimented her vibe, prompting Greta to spill her fashion secrets and praise her beloved secondhand leather jacket. She loves mixing and matching new items with thrifted finds. For her, fashion is about play and styling, describing her look as “ever-changing.” Sounds like Rebecca and Jess King have a new shopping bestie!

The feedback on Greta’s classes is already rolling in. A member messaged just to say they loved her class, which sparked a sweet moment of vulnerability from Greta. She shared a photo of herself “saying a little prayer” right before her premier class. She emphasized that the support means the world to her as she starts this journey.

Members are hungry for more content, specifically asking for another sculpt class. Greta’s response was short, enthusiastic, and promising: “On it!!!!!” Expect more strength and sculpting sessions to hit the schedule soon.

What’s next for Greta

Greta is still settling into city life. She signed off the AMA by mentioning she was heading to eat and shower after a “big day of looking at potential new apartments.” She admitted it has been a whirlwind week but promised to do another Q&A soon. What would you ask her?
