Calling all bargain hunters. Tips for scoring Peloton deals at TJX Stores.

Peloton Deals: How to Maximize Your Budget at TJX Stores

Maximize Savings with These Tips for Peloton Deals

Who doesn’t love a good bargain?  Don’t worry, I’ll go ahead and answer that.  Everyone.  Everyone loves a good bargain, including Peloton members. OGs and newbies alike are always on the lookout for great deals on the Peloton website, whether it’s for new apparel (that they may or may not need) or a new set of weights or resistance bands.  Thankfully, Peloton runs sales (much) more often than they used to, but, maybe not as often as some people might like.

Well, thanks to a 2022 partnership with TJX brands (TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and Sierra Trading Post), you don’t always have to wait for a Pelo-sale to get a good deal.  From discounted apparel to marked-down equipment like weights and resistance bands, these stores are goldmines for anyone looking to stretch their budget. With the right strategies, you can find incredible deals on Peloton items without breaking the bank. Here’s how to make the most of your retail therapy shopping trips. Maxxinistas, activate!

Shop Weekday Mornings for Fresh Stock

For the best chance at snagging deals on Peloton apparel and gear, shop during weekday mornings right after stores open. TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, and Sierra Trading Post typically restock their shelves overnight, meaning early birds get the proverbial worms.  Or, in this case, the good Peloton deals. Making friends with store associates can also give you a competitive edge. Ask when new deliveries typically arrive and how quickly items hit the floor so you know when and how to time your shopping trips.

Decode the Price Tags for Maxx Savings

Understanding the color-coded price tags is key to scoring the very best deals at TJX stores. A red sticker? Clearance. A yellow tag? That’s the final markdown price. Spot a tag with both red and yellow stickers? Congratulations—you’ve found the absolute lowest price on that item, and the very best deal.

Hunt for Deals in the Clearance Section and the “Track”

Every store has a clearance section, but timing matters. The biggest markdowns often happen during the “J” months—January and June. Another hot spot to check is the “track” in the middle of the store. This curated area features trendy and seasonal items, and fitness products are often prioritized at the beginning of the year when New Year’s resolutions are in full swing.

For example, last February, I scored two 20lb Peloton weights at Sierra Trading Post for just $15 each, with a yellow and a red tag—proof that Peloton deals are out there just waiting to be discovered!

Use Your Best Judgment on “Compare At” Prices

While price tags at these stores often list a “compare at” price, don’t take it at face value, especially becase you, as a Peloton Member, likely know what items typically sell for on the Peloton website. Rely on your own judgment and research to determine if a deal is worthwhile.

Ask for Discounts on Imperfect Items

If you spot something you want but it has a flaw—a scuff or a dent on a weight, or slight imperfection on a piece of clothing—don’t hesitate to ask for a damage discount. Most stores are willing to mark items down further if the damage is minor and you’re still interested in buying.  Especially because they’re in the business of clearing inventory to make room for even more fun finds. That Peloton deal might become even deal-ier if you’re willing to love it, imperfections and all.

Don’t Overlook the Websites

Beyond brick-and-mortar stores, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, and Sierra Trading Post often list Peloton gear on their websites. Shopping online gives you access to a broader selection and allows you to compare Peloton deals more easily.

IMPORTANT: Check Equipment Quality Before Buying

While, yes, you may be ok with a scuff here, a ding there, and you know that the apparel is probably last season’s, it’s worth noting that the items likely aren’t fresh from the production line and may have been sitting in a warehouse for a while. Pay special attention to equipment like resistance bands, as older rubber can become brittle and prone to snapping (yes, this has happened!!). Inspect items carefully, checking for any dry areas, flaking, brittleness and/or discoloration to ensure they’re in good condition before using, and hang onto your receipt just in case you need to take something back.

Yes, this happened. A set of Peloton resistance bands recently purchased at TJ Maxx snapped in two during a Resistance Bands Strength class.

With these tips, you can easily find great deals on Peloton apparel and equipment. Whether you’re updating your workout gear or adding to your home gym, TJX stores are a goldmine for smart shoppers.  Happy shopping!
