Rad Lopez Is Peloton’s Newest Bootcamp Instructor
We are in error code, but never more so than now. Here we are. As we would say on Reel Spoilers, “A true milestone,” because it’s an error code. What pray tell do you have in store for people?
We are going to talk about these new badges that Peloton dropped. We are also going to talk about some interesting platform issues that have been occurring, not to mention a fun, cool, new thing that Camila, Rad, and Mariana are up to. Where did the tread bootcamps go? We’ll cover that. We’re also going to talk about our newest bootcamp instructor. We’re also talking about the latest instructor who is expecting a baby. Not to mention the latest instructor who has returned from being off from an injury. We are also going to talk about the latest instructor writing a book and releasing it in 2025. We have a ton of content to discuss as well.
I will say that this book is different. It is very different from the other books. While my first reaction is, “Another book,” I will say it’s radically different than the other books and you will have to wait to hear what it is, who it is, and why it is so different. That’s what you call a tease. Just a little peek behind the curtain. Shameless plugs. Don’t forget, we’re available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart, and TuneIn. Wherever you find a podcast, you can find us.
While you are there, be sure and follow us so you never miss an episode. Maybe leave us a review. That is always helpful and appreciated. You can find us on Patreon if you want to support the show. It’s only $5 a month. You get ad-free episodes. You get all sorts of bonus content. We’re recording another episode every week that lives over there on the Patreon for those guys. This week, we will be talking about your new job. We’ll be talking about that over there.
I was laughing because I was thinking about the other thing that we were going to be discussing.
Also, the thing we’re not going to be discussing.
We’re definitely not discussing that.
Maybe our Patreon can have a Patreon, and then we’ll talk about that thing. We’re going to talk about Logan having a new sponsorship.
It’s got everybody talking.
It’s got some people’s attention. Also, Costco has a very deep discount on Bike+. We’ll talk about that and what it means, among other instructor news we don’t have time for.
We’ll do interesting deep-dive articles as well.
Peloton-adjacent stuff, fitness-related stuff, and maybe not Peloton-specific things that we find interesting. That’s all over there on the Patreon. It’s only $5 a month. That goes to help support the show and all the costs that go into it because there are many. You can also find us on Facebook at Facebook.com/TheClipOut. While you’re there, like the page and join the group. You can sign up for a newsletter at TheClipOut.com where you will get our weekly newsletter with the links and stuff that we talked about because we throw a lot of stuff at you. Finally, you can watch all of these over on our YouTube where Crystal shills shamelessly for Premier Protein for no money. There’s all that. Let’s dig in, shall we?
We shall.

Peloton’s New Streak Badges & Ongoing Platform Issues
Peloton has unveiled a new badge and this one is for your daily streak.
I know that sounds like a weird thing. In the past, it was very small amounts of days. You might have 3 days, 5 days, 7 days. I believe it went up to 50, but now they have added badges for 75, 100, 250, and 365-day streets. There are a lot of people that never miss a day the entire year. They are going to be excited about these badges, and they put them with the new designs that they did. For some reason, Peloton is super into purple this year. Everything is purple. It’s all all purple. There you go.
I guess you can’t go red or blue because they’ll think you’re picking a side, so they go purple.
They have both because red and blue make purple.
Let’s take a look at all the things that didn’t work this week.
The most notable is the new tread lock issue. Apparently, while some people are in the middle of a class, the tread just locks and it appears on the screen. Let’s say you’re taking a strength class. You were listening and watching, and then all of a sudden, all you can hear are the voices. Maybe you’re walking, and it does that. It says that if you encounter the PIN lock issue, just reboot your tablet and it will clear the issue. It’s still in the investigating stage. They have not identified the issue. They have not rolled out a fix.
Does the tread stop moving when it locks?
I’m a little confused about that because it has not happened to me, but it sounded like the people who are talking about it or taking classes other than a walking class. It’s some kind of strength class or Pilates or something where they’re using the screen.
They are using the screen but they’re not on the machine itself.
I could be wrong. It might be affecting people, but I’m not sure because the people I’ve heard from have been doing other classes.
I guess that issue would make sense, so much like somehow there’s a glitch where the machine is like, “You’re not using it, so we’re going to lock it for safety,” when you are using it, you’re just not walking or running on it because you’re doing an ancillary thing.
That could be. It is interesting. Also, for Android mobile, some classes were crashing if they were not listed under a music genre. The fix for that has gone out as of the 14th. They are keeping an eye on that one. Some members have been reporting issues accessing their schedules. That has been under investigation since March 4th. No update.
Peloton Events & Missing Tread Bootcamps
Peloton is heading to Puerto Rico.
I don’t think this event is new. I think Peloton’s participation in this event is a new thing. It’s called the Me, Myself & I event. It’s located in Puerto Rico and it is the 10th edition of the event that is happening. It blends fitness, wellness, and fun. This 2025, they are lucky enough to have Rad, Mariana, and Camila. That’s pretty cool. There are over twenty classes to choose from. There’s also this Inside-Out, which focuses on mental health, nourishment, and self-awareness.
They’re going to have panels and experts who will deliver holistic low-impact sessions for mind and body connection, and then Burn & Sculpt. If you’re wondering which classes the instructors are going to be teaching, Camila will be billed as the headliner. She will be doing her fiery signature Dale Duro classes and her sessions are going to focus on arms, cardio, core, and glutes. Rad Lopez is bringing his energy to a shadowboxing session called Todo Boxeo. It is designed to get your heart racing, and then Mariana is going to be doing a yoga class. It’s Alma Y Flow. It blends rhythm and mindful movement.
There are no tread bootcamps on the schedule. Before you explain, for people on the YouTube channel, I have to say that this is my favorite image we’ve ever used. It’s literally like, “Here’s the schedule,” but there’s nothing on it.
When you go to the schedule and you use the app, you can filter on what type of modality you’re doing. If you want to see all of the rowing classes on the schedule for the next two weeks, you click on rowing, but this week, there is no tread bootcamp icon for next week. That means for the next two weeks on the live and on the course schedule, nothing is showing up for the tread bootcamp.
It is surprising that tread bootcamps are more popular than bike bootcamps because there are a lot more bikes than there are treads. Share on XFor people who say you can’t prove a negative, we just did.
People have been asking, “What is that about?” My theory is that it’s because we have a bunch of instructors who are out right now who teach these classes. Jess Sims has been out. I don’t know if she’s been on vacation or she’s been doing her basketball thing because I don’t follow sports. I know that she’s very busy and she doesn’t have as much time. That’s one instructor down, and then Rebecca was out with an injury. She came back, and then Andy was out.
I don’t remember if anybody else is out, but I feel like they were. I think that’s it. I’m hoping that’s it. It seems to me that if you were going to Nick’s bootcamp, it would have been the bike bootcamp because few people take those comparatively to the tread bootcamps. That’s another reason that I think it’s not dead, because everybody thought, “Oh my God, they’ve ended tread bootcamps.” That was the big assumption, and I questioned that assumption. The other thing is that Andy stated that his HIIT bootcamps would be back on the schedule after April 1st. I think between those individuals being out and him saying that, that points to they’re coming back. It’s going to be okay.
It surprises me that tread bootcamps are more popular than bike bootcamps because there are a lot more bikes than there are treads.
There are, but people don’t like changing shoes. People wanted the bike bootcamps, and the people who took them loved them. There is a very passionate crowd. As we’ll find out here very soon because of other news we’re going to be covering, they’re not going anywhere with the bike bootcamps. I’m just saying that if they were going to get rid of one of the modalities, in my mind, it would make more sense.
Coming up after this, speaking of bootcamps, we’re going to tell you who the latest bootcamp instructor is. You probably already know because this is the title of the episode. This is what you call a bad tease. Stick around anyway.
‐‐‐
New & Returning Peloton Instructors
Your latest bootcamp instructor for bikes and Bike+ is Rad Lopez.
That is fun to hear and very exciting. One of the things that people have brought up in combination with this is where did Callie go because Callie was doing the bike bootcamps. She announced a while back on Instagram, I don’t remember if it was after she came back from maternity leave but I think it was, that she was no longer going to do them. People think that it might have been something to do with being uncomfortable while she was pregnant. Maybe it aggravated some things and she didn’t want to do them anymore, but she doesn’t want to do it. Our new bike bootcamp team is Tunde, Cody, Rad, and Jess Sims.
They love changing shoes.
They all loved it. They do. That’s their tagline, “We love changing shoes.” I know Tunde does because she has a lot of shoes. She’s very fashionable.
I bet they all have a lot of shoes.
We were talking the other day. I think Jenn Sherman walked by and Olivia was organizing her locker, so her stuff was everywhere. They were showing how each instructor has three lockers but there’s no organization. They don’t have built-ins into the locker. Let’s say Olivia has 30,000 different-color bras. She just has to stack them, and so all of her leggings are stacked. It’s like a whole stack of rainbow leggings, a whole stack of rainbow bras, and that’s it, then they have all these different lockers.
My point is when you also have shoes on top of that because a lot of times, the instructors make their shoes match the rest of their outfits, that is a lot to keep in those lockers. At the TCO group, all of us Helper Bees were like, “Why did they not have shelves built into those things? What are you doing? You need to bring in the closet companies that are sponsoring these other instructors and fix that.”
Rebecca Kennedy has returned.
She taught a class the other day. This was her first live class back. She is back. I’m so glad to hear that because we’re not exactly clear still what the injury was and it doesn’t matter. I’m glad she’s feeling better for sure.
Peloton Instructor Life Updates & Exciting Announcements
Cliff and Leslie Dwenger are expecting a baby.
Did you know that this is their second baby?
I did.
Very good. I’m glad that you read the caption.
I was digging to find her name and I was like, “Here we go.”
They are adorable on Instagram with the kids. I love those two.
We talked about this a while back. Ally Love is going to be on an episode of Impractical Jokers. That episode has finally been released into the wild.
Jess King was on it too. It wasn’t just Ally. It was both of them. It was TBS.com. It was their preview. Full transparency., I hate things like this.
It’s not my jam.
It’s not my jam either. For what it’s worth, over on Reddit, they agree. They were like, “Why the hell did Peloton agree to do this? This is the worst thing ever.” I hate the show and I thought somehow, it might be redeeming and how they thought that would be better, I don’t know.
It’s a very popular show.
Not only that, but you can’t appeal to your existing audience. You’re trying to grow your audience. You have to do new things.
The show is popular. When it tours, it plays in arenas. It’s a big show. It’s not my thing, but It’s a thing.
They were on it and it aired. It is great for Peloton and their exposure. I’m not trying to talk down the fact that it occurred. It’s just not my thing. It’s like if you try to make me watch The Three Stooges, it’s not happening.
I hate The Three Stooges. I will not be making you watch The Three Stooges.
Traditionally, the whole reason that they could charge you a lot at bars is because of alcohol, and so when it's a mocktail, there's no alcohol. It's just juices. Share on XMy dad did.
You know that I love Vudu, what’s now called Fandango at Home. Whenever something is on sale, I’m a sucker for it. We have 1,300 movies on Vudu and 150 TV shows.
That is not at all an exaggeration.
Almost all of them, I have paid like $5 for, which is still a lot of money. A few times, they have put the Three Stooges complete series on sale for $25. I’m like, “That’s a good deal, but I hate The Three Stooges.”
I have a visceral reaction to it. When I hear the noises that they make, I cringe. I hate all the slapping and everything. With this show, it hits the same button for me. It’s not my thing. Come on, The Three Stooges is beloved by many people. We’re the outliers here.
Interestingly enough, I do not enjoy The Three Stooges, but I do find the history of The Three Stooges fascinating. I’ll read articles and books about the Three Stooges but I don’t want to watch it because I’m weird.
I don’t want to do it either. You can give me the highlights. That’s cool. Give me the Wikipedia version.
Did you know that Mo was an expert at pie-throwing? Whenever You see a pie thrown in a Three Stooges short, especially if it’s off camera, it was Mo throwing the pie because he was good at hitting people from long distances, so they would have him do all the pie throwing. You see the weird stuff that I know.
I’m going to tuck it away for a future trivia night.
Callie Gullickson has a book coming out on December 9th, and it is about mocktails.
In the Peloton world, if you are following Callie on social media, she is always posting mocktail recipes. This is not a shocking turn of events, but I love that it’s not just, “My story.” You’re at the end of 53 Peloton instructors writing books. You need to come up with something new, and she did. I think that’s great.
Mocktails irritate me only in that they seem like an excuse for bars to charge an exorbitant amount of money for non-alcoholic drinks.
That’s fair.
I’m glad that they’re out there for people who want to enjoy a drink at a bar. I’m not judging the people for wanting a mocktail.
Traditionally, the whole reason that they could charge you a lot at bars is because of alcohol, and so when it’s a mocktail, there’s no alcohol. It’s just juices.
You remove the most expensive ingredient and yet it’s the same price. That irritates me. I’m glad that it’s something different.
I am too and I do like mocktails. I have partaken a time or two. One time when we went to LA and were with Kate from Tonal, I had mocktails.
Coming up after this, we’re going to tell you about the latest artist series and then we’re going to get into all the classes and content you should be checking out this week. Stick around.

Upcoming Peloton Series & Featured Artists
The latest artist series features Missouri’s own Sheryl Crow.
There are not a lot of things I like about Missouri, but I like Sheryl Crow. I do very much also. She sold her Tesla and I liked that too, but this is so fun. It’s going to be on March 20th. There’s going to be a ton of classes coming up. It’s great because she has so many years of hits and from my vantage point, they are the fun years of happy happy pop hits. It’s the good stuff, so, I’m very much looking forward to it.
Did you know that she started as a backup singer for Michael Jackson?
I did not know that. Of course, you know that. I don’t know what you got stored in there.

TCO Top 5 & Celebrating Becs Gentry’s Birthday
It is time for the TCO Top 5, where you tell us classes and we tell you classes.
Tina is back this week.
Helper Bee Tina has returned.
As far as Mason goes, we have raised $13,200. You guys, if you get a chance, just hit the share button on the socials and see if you can hit up your friends for two and a half years of treatment, but I will say there was a big piece of good news that came out this week. That is he does not have signs of cancer I believe in his bone marrow. That means that for the next two years of treatment, it’s going to be focused on not having the cancer come back. We are in that range now and that is very exciting.
We will dig into Tina’s list. Number one, your favorite run.
It is probably not a surprise that it was everybody’s favorite. It was the Club Bangers run that was taught by Alex Toussaint and Lil Jon. It was taught on March 14th at 5:30 PM. This was nominated by six different people. They loved it. Courtney described it like, “Of course, the playlist was lit but also Lil Jon got into the coaching, encouraging and counting down intervals. It was fun to see him having so much fun.” Mindy Jensen said, “The energy was off the charts, I wish all rides and runs were like this.” Dennis Dancing has an unexpected highlight. That is fine. That’s great. A bonus that was pointed out also is that Alex always gives you walking breaks. That’s fun.
Number two, your favorite strength workout.
Restorative yoga classes are great for letting your body let out the bad and take in the good, Share on XThis class was taught by Selena Samuela. We haven’t seen her on the TCO Top 5 in a little bit. I’m happy to see her return. She taught a 20-minute arms and shoulders back on November 24. Melissa Solen loved the unique format of the class, “It was mostly unilateral work, and you only needed one moderate to heavy dumbbell. This is a great class if you are traveling, or you have limited equipment.”
Number three, your favorite extra steps class.
It’s brand when we did This Week at Peloton. We’ll cover it later. We’ll talk about it, but they dropped this new format called Extra Steps. You will know, at the beginning of your class, how many steps you’re going to be taking. This particular one was taught by Joslyn Thompson Rule. It was a 20-minute Extra Steps walk. Jen Kern loved this class. She said that she loved the pace of the class with the music to help get her steps in for the day. It was 125 beats per music to reach 2,500 steps. It was like walking with a friend. That’s nice.
Number four, your favorite yoga class.
This class was taught by Anna Greenberg back in June 202. It was a 20-minute Kacey Musgraves restorative yoga, and it is not your average restorative class. Tina herself is the one who recommended this. She said, “It was so fabulous. I felt the need to recommend it in our Top 5. Restorative yoga classes are great for letting your body, let out the bad and take in the good, and Kacey Musgraves’s music was perfect to help with that process. Anna’s coaching perfectly matched the themes of Kacey’s thought-provoking, yet uplifting songs, while the various poses forced her body to let out a long productive side.” Well needed, my friend. Well needed,
Finally, it’s your unstackable. It’s a Power Zone ride.
It is indeed. It was taught by Matt Wilpers on February 1, 2025. Karen Smith loved this class. She said that it was also sneaky challenging. She said, “It was awesome. Once the warm-up was done, it was zoned to all the way through, but with cadence intervals. Every song had a beat of at least 85. The legs were flying and the sweat was pouring. Great class.”
Peloton’s Spring Reset & New Class Offerings
We will now take a look at everything that’s coming up this week at Peloton. Spring is in the air.
It sure is. There is a spring reset that you can take. Denis has a brand new reset ride that’s coming out on March 21st as a premiere, and then there’s also a reset yoga that you can do coming out the same day. You can take those back to back and enjoy the reset. There’s also going to be a row stack. Ash is putting that out where it’s going to be a 15-minute intervals row, and then a 10-minute Latin row.
There’s also some new live outdoor stuff.
A new 30-minute live outdoor house run with Olivia. Remember, these live outdoor classes are pretty new to Peloton. This is the first year they’ve been doing them. They’re starting to build up that library.
We also have a Soundtrack Strength Club.
Callie will be back in the studio recording, because remember, she comes back in once one week out of the month. That’ll be her week on Friday, March 21st, but she’s also teaching a 20-minute Soundtrack Strength Club, while she’s there.
Saint Patrick’s Day was this week and Peloton celebrated it with green beers and all of their water bottles.
I got to pick on Peloton a little bit. It was well into the day when they posted this. Come on, guys. Especially if you were over in the UK. Does the UK celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, now that I think about it?
Would they care? That’s right there.
Perhaps they do not.
It’s always Saint Patrick’s Day in Ireland.
That’s true. Regardless, it was late morning when these came out and several classes were already on-demand. There was a ride with Christine and there was a run with Marcel. There was a row with Alex K. There were also arms and lightweights with Bradley, not to mention a walk with Joslyn, and three Lanebreak classes, one ride, one walk, and one run. By the way, I know we talked about the issue that Peloton was having all their little list of platform issues earlier, but I forgot to mention during that part that I cannot access Lanebrake on my tread right now. I can access it on the bike, but not on my tread.
You must have made them mad.
It won’t be the first time.
If you’re in possession of a row and you feel like maybe you’re not doing it right, they got you with their new form fixer classes.
The interesting part about these form fixtures is that Alex K is teaching all of them. They’re 20 minutes long, but he brings in a special guest and he has the guest using the rower, and then he’s fixing their form as they’re doing it. The first guest that he had was Ally Love, and then there will be a class with Marcel Dinkins dropping on March 26th and April 2nd. There will be a class dropping with Rad, and then there will be one with Jess King, dropping on April 9th. I think that’s great because you have these experts showing you exactly what a person is. It’s easier to visualize when you’re seeing it on another person when you have the instructor like, “Push your back here,” or “Do this.”
It’s a great way to incorporate non-rowing instructors into a row class.
I don’t think that’s accidental.
For sure. I think it’s also nice to show that even someone incredibly athletic, a Peloton instructor still might not have proper form on a piece of equipment they’re not familiar with. It checks a lot of boxes.
It does.
Christine D’Ercole has curated an unofficial Sprint Interval Training program.
We talked a little bit about this and it was coming but she hadn’t posted it yet on Instagram. Since then, she has posted it. It’s six weeks and she has put together a list of classes that’s basically a daily guide. She starts with what you should be taking each day and she has the reasons why. It all makes a lot of sense. It was on Instagram but we have a whole article about it that Helper Bee Elizabeth wrote. You can find that on TheClipOut.com or in the newsletter that we will be sending out. Right in the article, we have the whole thing listed out to make it easy for you.
I highly recommend people to try this, especially women that maybe you’re not sure if you’re in perimenopause. Not everybody has the same symptoms. That’s part of the problem with perimenopause. You may not even know. This is great because its Sprint Interval Training is so good at targeting visceral fat. That’s the fat around all of your organs. A lot of women get to around the age of 40 to 45 and they’re like, “I’m doing all the same things. Why all of a sudden, I gained this layer of fat around my midsection?” That’s visceral fat and this Sprint Interval Training kills it. It’s amazing. I got off my soapbox, although I did get a lot of nice comments about my tirade from last week.
